    Moshe Dayan as quoted in Haaretz, 4 April 1969: "Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because geography books no longer exist, not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either. Nahlal arose in the place of Mahlul;
    Kibbutz Gvat in the place of Jibta; Kibbutz Sarid in the place of Huneifis; and Kefar Yehushu'a in the place of Tal al-Shuman. There is not one single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population."

They’re also known Phoenicians and migrated from the eastern Arabian Peninsula-at the time home to the Dilmun civilization as well; they moved due to climate crises around 6,200 BC of the hot desert (Jarius Zarins). There are Arab families to this day with the surname Canaan-which is not found in “Israel” or Europe.

    To bla bla lev:
    1. Arab is not a race, it’s an ethnicity. Palestinians are native to Palestine they’re not immigrants. They became Arabized like most of the Middle East.
    2. At least 4 different empires conquered Palestine After ancient Israel was destroyed and before Muslim arabs arrived. The two did not meet.
    3. Ancient jewish immigration and subsequent establishment of ancient Israel in Palestine was just one of the many political phases Palestine went through. Definitely not the most significant one.
    4. Palestine already had a native population in it before ancient Israel. Your holy book commanded you to slaughter all of them abut your ancestors couldn’t.
    5. Go back to Egypt. Your truly original motherland.

      lol you actually made up an entire history for propaganda purposes..
      1. The earliest arab settling in the land you call "palestine" wasn't early to the Fatimid dynasty, although most palestinians today are descendants of later immigrants which can be easily seen in family names. Al Masri is the biggest family in the gaza strip. This saying can easily be disproved by genetic tests and history.
      2. 2 empires did: the persians and the romans. Know your facts...
      3. Ancient Israel was the first known native civilization created in this land in history, definitely not just "another phase". It wasn't created in "Palestine", but in canaan... Palestine is a name the romans gave the province after the Bar Kochva Revolt. It's MUCH later than the existence of ancient Israel and it's not even up for debate, Hedrianus wrote that himself.
      4. Canaan's natives were canaanites, the group called "Israel" was cannanites who lived in Judah and Samaria and expanded later.
      5. if a DNA test says you're mostly from the arabian desert, would you go there?

      @@itamar4117 "Ancient Israel" was indeed another phase or "was just one of the many political phases Palestine went through" as Kristina H put it. You're also mistaken to claim that "ancient Israel was the first known native civilization", as the magnificent civilization of the Canaanites on the land of Canaan was the first known one on this land. So, it seems you're the one-possibly not knowing-who’s “making up an entire history for propaganda purposes”!! I suggest you (and the other commenter Esther Lev) google "The Origin of the Palestine-Israel Conflict" by "Jews for Justice in the Middle East". Here are some excerpts by historians worthwhile of reading from the site:
      “But all these [different peoples who had come to Canaan] were additions, sprigs grafted onto the parent tree...And that parent tree was Canaanite...[The Arab invaders of the 7th century A.D.] made Moslem converts of the natives, settled down as residents, and intermarried with them, with the result that all are now so completely Arabized that we cannot tell where the Canaanites leave off and the Arabs begin.” Illene Beatty, “Arab and Jew in the Land of Canaan.”
      “The extended kingdoms of David and Solomon, on which the Zionists base their territorial demands, endured for only about 73 years...Then it fell apart...[Even] if we allow independence to the entire life of the ancient Jewish kingdoms, from David’s conquest of Canaan in 1000 B.C. to the wiping out of Judah in 586 B.C., we arrive at [only] a 414-year Jewish rule.” Illene Beatty, “Arab and Jew in the Land of Canaan.”
      “Recent archeological digs have provided evidence that Jerusalem was a big and fortified city already in 1800 BCE...Findings show that the sophisticated water system heretofore attributed to the conquering Israelites pre-dated them by eight centuries and was even more sophisticated than imagined...Dr. Ronny Reich, who directed the excavation along with Eli Shuikrun, said the entire system was built as a single complex by Canaanites in the Middle Bronze Period, around 1800 BCE.” The Jewish Bulletin, July 31st, 1998.

    Languages take on loanwords all the time. The word for shower in Russian is "dush," taken from the French "douche." That doesn't mean it's not a Russian word. Incorporating yalla and sababa into Hebrew isn't theft, it's just bits and pieces picked up from living with Arabs. Sure, there are other words she could have chosen, like beseder (which Israeli Arabs have thoroughly incorporated into their Arabic).
    The same goes for taking songs and giving them a cover in your language. Israelis have made Hebrew versions of Katyusha, but I doubt you would call that theft. In Poland they made a Polish cover of the Yiddish song Tumbalalaika, and nobody is complaining about that.

    • @abdul-rahimdahman3300
      @abdul-rahimdahman3300 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      If they were to incorporate bits and pieces as neighbors, nobody would complain; like the Japanese using borrowing curry from india and modifying it to better suit their palate.
      The problem with Israel using food that was traditionally Palestinian is the way they tie it into their land grabs + frequent use of the conspiracy theory that nobody was living on the land, or that the land was barren before the first settlers arrived.
      If you go to any Israeli Jewish restaurant in New York, they'll term all their dishes as israeli, NOT Arab or middle eastern; if you were to press them on it, then MAYBE they'll attribute some credit to the Mizrahim.
      In this way, the popular opinion, to the uninitiated, becomes "falafel/hummus/grape leaves are Israeli foods". It's like if Americans believed pizza and spaghetti were "American", foods, but in addition to that, imagine if the US literally took over Italy and tried to claim native Italians had no culture, didn't know how to grow their own crops, and have no claim to their homeland.
      So yeah, I agree with you; on its own, people trading cultures is usually a good thing, but particularly in this case, the intent is far more malicious.

      Middle Eastern Jews belong to the land they are equally entitled to live there with no tiny shade of doubt! It is not a debate. But the trouble is stealing our land by zionist based on utterly flawed religious claims. Imagine that someone like Ivanka T. is entitled to come and live in Palestine as a jew convert over us who own the land as far as the history can reach. The funny part zionist don’t seem to have a definition of Israeli citizen.

    • @abdul-rahimdahman3300
      @abdul-rahimdahman3300 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's a fair point, but you'll realise that Israel's overlap of food has more to do with Levantian food (Palestine, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon) and less to do with North Africa or the Gulf, which also had its share of Mizrahim.
      While some credit can certainly be attributed to the Mizrahim (and like the dude before me said, the Mizrahis have every right to that culture), the point of the video here is referring largely to the organised campaign that the right-wing Israeli government has been using to deny Palestinians of a claim to their land/culture.
      Often times they'll sell the idea that these dishes can ONLY be attributed to Israel (if you go to a Jewish restaurant in New York for example), but you'll be hard pressed to find someone who's willing to admit any Palestinian/arab influence.
      Coupled with the conspiracy theory that Israel was barren before the first settlers came, or that Palestinians were just a bunch of Bedouin tribes from surrounding Arab countries, you find that the intent is often to completely erase any claim to the land.

    • @abdul-rahimdahman3300
      @abdul-rahimdahman3300 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Furthermore, don't forget that the Mizrahis have had their share of suffering under the Israeli government; the Yemeni children incident and the ringworm incidents being the most well known.

    lacks integrity and impartial review of history.
    most obvious:
    no mention that in 1948 it was Palestinian leadership that declared war.
    if someone declares war and loses it along with land - in who's book does that count as stealing?
    another notable example: Lod/Lydia airport was built by the British, not Palestinians.
    neither Israelis nor Palestinians have been saints - anyone presenting one or the other as such is either not seeing or not telling the truth.

      @@AvnerSenderowicz I have looked it up, that's why I'm asking the question - the historical record doesn't seem to agree with your version of events - I have to ask; did you go to school in Israel? As that might explain the different versions of history we were both taught.
      The idea that a small rebel army of Jews could take on the large Arab powers in the 1940's - and win - defies logic. It's like some sort of David and Goliath myth.
      How were the Arab powers even ready for an invasion? You can't just get an expeditionary force together overnight, it takes months to organise. There are many things about this idea that don't make any sense.

Israel was the product of Colonialism and political pressure from powerful European Jewish Zionists. In other words, the creation of Israel was illegitimate.

    So much nonsense - Ben Gurion airport was built by the British. Words can be imported from other languages. Are we supposed to say that 'education' isn't an English word because it was borrowed from French? People can enjoy foods from other cultures. The clip doesn't say hummus was invented by Israelis, it just says they enjoy it, which is true. It's also not clear it was invented by Palestinians - it's popular across the region. Finally, why the comment about 'white girls' saying 'literally' when something isn't literally true? Lots of people do this. Have fun with your impotent rage.

      True, Sarit Hadad probably didn't steal Farid's song. It's a cover/tribute and I assume she paid the licensing fee to use it. A lot of older Israelis grew up listening to Farid, Um Kalthoum etc in their countries of origin if they are from the Arab world, and they brought that tradition with them. Farid is actually very popular in Israel. In fact, based on my channel stats, per capita, he is more popular in Israel than in any other country in the world. To me, on a basic level, enjoying music is a human right. If it touches someone's heart, I don't see how you deny this. But actually stealing music for profit, that's another issue. And in that area, the Turks are the biggest offenders when it comes to Arabic music.
