    I've roasted many an ear of corn on the grill and in camp fires. I never soak mine in water or trim the ends. I do mine directly over the coals, and turn them when the shucks start turning burnt black and crumbly. Same in a camp fire, I rack some coals to the side of the fire and toss the ears in, and turn them the same as on the grill. Usually takes around 15 minutes for the corn to roast. Peel them back from the silk end and use that for a handle, rub it down with butter and salt, best corn ever.

    • @Viewtoagrill
      @Viewtoagrill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Carl. I think most folks do it just like you do. It is a less time consuming method. The one thing that puts me off on doing it like that are the little black flecks of burnt corn husks that get on the corn. This is something I came up with that avoids that. I also wanted to show a different way to dress the corn. Olive oil taste suprisingly good on corn, thats why I showed the recipe I did, otherwise I will use the same recipe with melted butter.
      I went out to play in my golf league this past Tuesday and I did my best to keep my eyes on the ball during my back swing and through my swing.. and I did see a difference in making contact with the ball.. Thanks for the tip!...still needs work!
      Thanks Carl, I always appreciate you watching.

    Howdy Johnny, well done. I don't believe I have seen anyone do grilled corn yet this summer so very nice. And there's no such thing as to many ways to grill corn. I haven't ever heard or seen anyone soaking corn before grilling before. I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like using a brine. Brines are not just for meats. Some salt and sugar in the water would help increase moisture in the kernels. Plus give additional seasoning. I normally make a butter and garlic sauce to baste the garlic while grilling it exposed. Here's a nifty little trick I like to do. I pull the husks back from the beginning. Then pulling a long couple of leaves off I twist them into a nice long cord. Then use the cord to tye the husks together to make nice handles. If a person is in a rush or not very craftsy you can just use butchers twine. It makes for a nice rustic presentation. Anyway now I wish I had some corn to grill tonight. Great video. Have a great day. 🌞
