hi, I've always been told you shouldn't evaluate on a 10 mark outline and explain question, this question seems to have evaluated a lot, therefore can you evaluate or not?

Hi, you are correct, bolt on evaluation NO!
BUT analysis CAN be critical analysis. If it logically allows to do so, you can make critical analysis which sometimes reads like evaluation. BUT it is analysis also.

For example, could a second paragraph to this one be that policies such as the passing of gay marriage meaning that there is a further decline in the nuclear and then talk about the different structure a gay family has because they don't follow a gender script etc. But then could I evaluate this and say that actually, Smart believes in the connectedness thesis so one person in the gay relationship despite being the same gender may still take on more so the expressive role and the other the instrumental. Could you then say that this shows that government policies affect family structure in the way that they encourage all families including those that aren't the traditional nuclear to replicate its structure in some way? Furthermore shown by the same policy of a marriage tax break being in place for a gay married couple as it is for a heterosexual nuclaer. (???)

@@annamyerscough2214 You are making very good analysis points there. AND you are being critical too. :-) When applying concepts such as the connectedness thesis - offer an explanation to it, THEN apply to the question.

How can I expand this paragraph for reasons for cabbing patterns of marriages p: One reason why there is a decrease in marriage is that society has become secular. E: postmodernist argue that we live in Era where we do not follow the metanarrative and instead choose their own lifestyle Explanation: there is less religious influence in society and so people no longer see marriages as sacred and have a commitment to it how can expand this ??? And how do I link it

Explain the impact of no religion. E.g. in the past people held religious views, such as being married to have children, or be in a heterosexual relationship. Now, as the role of religion in society is declining so is the traditional values that you would associate with it. Therefore, with less religious views, people have more freedom to choose alternative lifestyles and not the traditional ones offered by religion. This means that people don't feel the need to marry when they want children for example, leading to a decline in the marriage rate.
THEN SAY postmodernist would argue... You could then analyse to suggest to what extent is it true? E.g. people are still getting married. etc.
