      @Chong Li I have a screw one into the door frame, I suggest it as it is super stable+ the door frame cant come off

      Which type fits your needs best? I would say my preference is a screwed in model because of the stability of it if that's an option.

    The second bar you showed can be locked in with screwed in metal brackets that it slides down into.
    The old P90x bar was that style and it makes them much safer and sturdier while still being very easy to take off and put back up.
    Leaves 8 screw holes above the door if you remove it later but that's it. Highly recommend for anyone who is 200 plus pounds.

    There's also tension pull-up bar. Kind of like 1:55 but have thick rubber caps as the ends, just screw the shaft so it push into the walls really tight, no crew holes or brackets needed. Some even come with brackets for permanent placement. I put my in the hallway, give a bit more room than doorway.

      Sorry if I sound dumb, but what are slippers? I’m sure you don’t mean the footwear lol. I remember people talking about using towels. I don’t want to mark up my trim, and honestly, I have mental images of me trying this and the trim coming completely off. I’m thinking maybe everyone has that fear in the beginning

    • @skullboy1407
      @skullboy1407 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@n0gginb0nker87 haha I do indeed mean the footwear! I know it sounds strange however the shape of them allows them to be slipped on (excuse the pun) the ends of the bar that touches the frame. Also because of the material it softens the pressure between that and the door frame.
      You are correct though a towel would work however it is not as easy to slip on as slippers are 👌🏻.

    We should be mounting pullup bars in HALLWAYS. We'd have a lot more height to work with than a door frame. All that is needed is steel pipe (cheap) and bases that can be anchored to the studs of each wall. Even better, span 2 studs with a thick piece of plywood. And mount each plate so it has some vertical support, say 1' tall for each plate. That should be rock solid.

Another thing you did not consider was different hand positions, including wide grip, which are much more difficult.

    I wish I had seen this video sooner. I've seen people using the Shed kind since the beginning of home pull up bars. My mom wanted to start doing dead hang to help with her alignment, I got her a removable one like the Shed, but it was tooooooo removable, like if I'm not careful it drops on my nose removable. I was wondering if I was handling it incorrectly because no one ever talked about the danger of it being so easily detached from the door frame. Can't have my mom deal with that so I moved on to an expansion kind against the sides of the door frames. Now I need to equip my own apt with a set but my door frame is too thin for the expansion kind to take hold, and I wouldn't know what to do if I didn't find out about Eleviia from you. The only concern is that it might pull down my whole door frame from the top but I hope that's just me being paranoid.... Either way, this is such precious video to come across. Thank you, Scott.
