I bought them all four, but never played them. Yet. I did enjoy reading through all the different scenarios in the books and ultimately grabbed a couple of ideas left and right to be used on other games. Most notably a Genesys conversion for Firefly, where the group had a ship that was to bring supplies to a far out reasearch station in space. There the Alliance was making super soldier by adapting the Ophiocordyceps unilateralis from Earth-That-Was. Of course, this being a halloween horror one-shot session and Ophiocordyceps unilateralis also being know as the Zombie Fungus, things quickly went down hill. ;-)
I ran this game one time. We used the character creation rules based on making the players the characters. It turned into a situation where the parents in the group were primarily concerned with saving their kids, which is understandable. We ruled that horrible outcomes for family members in the real world, were going to be avoided. I liked the simple mechanic. I tried to track down the other versions of the game, but even though it was many years ago, I think it was already out of print.
That is a good way to do it! I think there definitely needs to be table talk for what is and is not allowed from this game. But I agree, the simple mechanics are great and offer some fun gameplay! We found the PDF version on Drive-Thru but we would love physical copies!

The different scenarios are very well done! I do love the way they do so many types of scenarios so its not just basic zombies
