I began my journey as an artist at 13, the day i "drew" this fanart of Natsu just because i felt like it, and honestly, you're right. Fairy Tail is unironically the best fandom i've ever been too, and honestly, as i watched the video, i'm very glad i began drawing with that one and not any other fandom present in Lava Tail ( massive Universe mash-up i created myself, basically being a giant AU of Fairy Tail ). Because after that, i stumbled upon more... Problematic fandoms. Think Undertale, Omori, FNF... Yeah, you get the idea. I always said that Fairy Tail is the best fandom ever, and i'm glad to see other people confirm it.
Fairy tail is still on my "i need to find the time to watch this."-list. My favorite anime is "Trapped in a dating sim: The world of Otome games is tough for Mobs" ... I admit i read the LNs and i am waiting for number 13. Toxic fans suck. Let others enjoy there fun. Okami - san is AWESOME 👍

Watching and liking Fairy Tail and Akame Ga Kill made me realise how much of a pain it is to be a fan of something that everyone has also watched and shidded on. It's why I avoid popularly slandered and memed anime like My Hero Academia, SAO and Future Diary. Idk why, but it makes me uneasy consuming and being emotionally invested in them, knowing there's millions of others who hate it, and still keep at it if you bring it up in a conversation. Or they already have a bad image of it cause some popular TH-camr made a bad review on it which got millions of views. To me, none of this is an issue if the 'hated' Anime isn't that popular or known. For example, I really liked some of the old OVAs like Violence Jack, which weren't that well received but at the very worst, all I have to deal with is old terrible reviews of it on MAL, and a few non-viral TH-cam reviews. So it really doesn't effect me cause it's very avoidable. If it's a popular show like Fairy Tail, it'd make me wish that it was gatekept, which is just impossible and stupid cause it's already popular.

Like imagine watching a 300+ episode Anime, loving it, and then you go on the internet into Anime spaces, and most people are shitting on it constantly. I’m glad my fav Hitman Reborn is considered underrated outside of Japan, we really dodged a bullet not ending up in the same fate as FT and Bleach, cause the show wasn’t up to people’s Naruto One Piece DBZ standards. I actually have had similar thoughts myself. But you are also right on the themes, to a lot of Fairy Tail fans the characters feel like family. I have a theory that Fairy Tail fans actually tend to be social outcasts. I am heavily obsessed with Fairy Tail. I own the entire manga (Thank you ebay), seen the anime three times, and am on my fourth rewatch, and I am also a fanfic writer. I deal with things like autism, depression, OCD, and pretty bad anxiety. And Fairy Tail is my happy place, it's one of the few things that make me just so happy. I just love this series, and I want to get a guild mark tattoo one day.

The description sounds really interesting (in my opinion) XD I just saw that he created a Edens Zero game with RPG Maker called "Rebecca and the Mechanical Mansion" as a hobby project 0-0 (doesn't look like it got translated though...) Hiro Mashima also designed the characters for the games "Gate of Nightmares" and "Farmagia" ^^ Damn, that man is incredible (and a workaholic from the sounds of it). He almost never takes breaks, starts a new series directly after finishing the previous one and often works on multiple projects at once. I mean he's writing the story for "Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest", starting his new project "Dead Rock" and designed the characters for "Farmagia". This isn't the first time either. Previously he worked on finishing "Fairy Tail", oversaw the progress of the "Fairy Tail Dragon Cry" movie and was already working on the story of his next manga "Edens Zero". I'm sorry, I didn't mean for this comment to become so long ^^'

Seriously though, I have _never_ seen a toxic Fairy Tail fan. I would like to think that people who enjoy anime about friendship are probably more wholesome on average and less toxic, so maybe that is why? I'm not sure. Size of fandom also has a lot to do with it most likely, cause Naruto and One Piece have really wholesome messaging and themes but their fandoms are full of dickheads unfortunately. I even see people so often who are "Naruto fans" but then they shit on Naruto's compassion as a person towards villains and call it idealistic? I'm floored by this because it's like, yeah, that's the point of the show lol. Is it so bad to be idealistic? Maybe the world would be a better place if people were more idealistic and less hateful. You can loop this back around to FT as well, there are plenty of redeemed characters like Jellal, Gajeel, Ultear, Laxus, and more. When I started Fairy Tail i actually lied the show but as i passed the 170 episode mark my views were kinda changed It all started when Natsu KICKED GAJEEL OUT to fight with the Twin Sabertooth Dragons himself, I really love some characters but when i see them not getting even a little spotlight i feel betrayed Gajeel is my favourite Male character from the show but the amount of times he gets spotlight is countable on fingers Lucy is a really well written female but i hate the fact that she'll always be used for sexual comedy in the end I doubt if i ever saw Jura winning a big battle Laxus and Gildarts were the only ones who never disappoined me The plot is really good but how it progresses is way too cliche which made me hate the storyline but still love those characters, I finished the first 175 episodes in like 2 months but it took me a year to finish the rest of it, that's how much it impacted me
the power of frenship isint a probles it is based of the power sistem witch is the stronger the emotion the stronger the power so it makes sence + a ton of other shonen anime use the power of frenship

From what I saw almost nobody gets insulted when they say that they like NaLu, but when somebody says that their favourite ship for example is NaLi or GraLu (ships that either way wont ever happen) everyone want's to rip them apart for it.
