🔥Westminster Confession of Faith (Also 1689 Baptist Confession) Chapter 5, Paragraph 5: "The most wise, righteous and gracious God doth oftentimes leave for a season His own children to manifold temptations and the corruptions of their own hearts, to chastise them for their former sins (discipline them, child-train them: HEB 12, DEUT 8), or to discover unto them the hidden strength of corruption and deceitfulness of their hearts, that they may be humbled; and to raise them to a more close and constant dependence for their support upon Himself...." 🤔💭 Be _very careful_ to disregard someone's salvation simply because they experience a season that appears to be "so-called" backsliding, because it's _very arrogant_ to claim to know the mind of God & His specific plans for an individual. 🔥 Case & Point: Samson, a man-whore most of his life, is mentioned in the Hall of Fame of Faith in Hebrews 11:32

Well, all three of us, at this point, are covered or we wouldn’t be here. Life lived in faith or not, ebbs & flows; that’s just the way it goes. I think Hank omitted that truth; perhaps he was short on time or it was edited.
I didn't hear an answer, the basic question was...can a person who back slides come back to God, or have they lost their salvation to the degree that they're never able to return. I became a believer and 2 years later I was decieved into believing a lie that caused me to denounce Jesus, I later learned I made a mistake and desperately desire to return, so am I able to return or not...?
@Colin Davis Certain you are familiar with 1 John 1:9-2:2. Remind yourself of this truth. Many Christians backslide, fall into sin, but repent and return to Christ and the Church. Nevertheless, they are overwhelmed with so much guilt that despite the truth of the Scriptures on asking and receiving forgiveness from God, they reject the truth and buy into the lie that God will never extend forgiveness and they are doomed to spend eternity in hell regardless. Such situations are beyond anything that can be adequately dealt with in TH-cam comments. Your situation is best dealt with in the context of a healthy well-balanced church with caring Christian leaders who can offer direction, prayer, and, if necessary, correction. @Fred-Phelps Appreciate the perspective.
What about kids who get saved and baptized but as adults they don't live for the Lord?
