Just the fact, that this review is not sponsored or "supported" is a great plus for me. It is difficult to find a review from a regular consumer. Thank you.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share a comment, I appreciate it as I think unsponsored videos (for the most part) offer something different and a level of trust that can be helpful. It’s nice to know that people appreciate that. Have a great rest of the weekend 🫡
You are welcome my friend. DJI have issues a firmware update now (take a look at my latest video) and added a high bitrate option and also improved the stabilisation a lot. It’s now a lot better than it was 👍
I film mountain passes - quite a difficult subject from a moving vehicle on bad roads. I started with a Go Pro 1, then a 3, then a 6 and more recently a 12 Black. The big disappointment with the 12 was that Gopro removed the telemetry function (to extend battery life and prevent overheating). I then bought the Osmo Action 5 Pro and the difference at almost every level is astonishing. I seldom have the need to film in low light, so I'm delighted with the Osmo5.
Thanks for sharing your opinion, your used case sounds really Interesting and the action 5 I’m sure does an amazing job of that for you over the GoPros. I agree on the difference between the GoPro and the Osmo action being vast. The only time GoPro excels is in very good daytime sunny lighting, otherwise it’s shocking and the performance and UI is way behind DJi and Insta360 👍
I just bought the Action 5. My likes: The 40MP photo option. Make sure you go in and change the default of 9 MP. I used it last night here in Palma de mallorca. The low light without change the setting was a great surprise. I had it set to Rock Steady. NOT RS+. So while the low light was really good. I was a bit let down with what was either vibration from my magnetic chest mount or the digital image stabilization not quite doing its job. Tonight I will try it again with RS+ on. The low light is equal to that of the Pocket 3. I see in your video running you were having the exact same issue. I will add that i have an Action 4 and the 5 does much better in Low Light. Because of that. I never attempted a low light shoot while walking in Mallorca. I do hope they correct the problem. I won’t be returning my 5 because it is a sight better than the 4 and will be crossing my fingers for a fix.
Thanks for the feedback and great feedback on your used case James, appreciate it a lot. I hope you are enjoying Mallorca, my family and I go twice per year and we love it. Typically we are on the other side of the island near Alcudia but not always. I’m pleased you like the low light performance so far, I’m going to try a few different setting in my next dark run to see if I can find a sweet spot. Have a great evening sir 🫡👍
It really helps to understand what the camera is doing and what the physics are. When you have a a gimbal, you can use the ideal 1/50s shutter for pleasing motion blur which also lets in a large amount of light, because the gimbal stabilises your camera. Without a gimbal, any movement turns into motion blur which is impossible for the camera to fix digitally. Digital stabilisation really needs around 1/200s to remove most jitter, but then your image is too dark. What the camera tries to do is pick a sweet spot between a low enough shutter speed to have brighter image, but high enough to avoid that jittering/shimmering motion blur you will see with every step. So what the night modes will do is crank up the ISO, crank up digital noise reduction and try to adjust the shutter to compensate for abrupt movements. Understanding this, you can get better results taking manual control. First set noise reduction and sharpness to -2, then set colour to DLOGM. Now if you are walking but you're careful, you can get away with 1/100s for the digital stabilisation to work. If you know you're going to be running, or not careful, you need 1/200s (or even higher). If you are in a dark environment and you're happy to stand to take a pleasing clip with maybe some panning, reduce it down to 1/50s for really quite impressive results. Also, there's no point setting the ISO above 6400 or even 3200, you're better off increasing the gamma in editing. This will give you MUCH better results than in camera.
I am low on budget and wish Action 5 pro at least somewhat match Pocket 3 for a few low light dusk time footage. I am getting Action 4 almost 130 USD lower than Action 5 pro. Please suggest ONE out of all of these. Thanks a lot.🎉
I havent even finish watching your video, but i have to comment. This is one of the best review of any camera period. Very little filler and get to the meat and potatoes of the camera. Well done. I rarely like a video but you sir deserve tons of likes and views for this. Thanks currently my gear is hero 8 for action camera and pocket 3 for low light. Looks like it will stay the same setup.
Thank you Brian, I’m very grateful for your comment and you taking the time to share your thoughts. It’s great to hear that some people get value from my very honest type of reviews. Have a great day 🫡
You need to set the minimum shutter to 1/100 to fix the jittery stabilization issue in low light. And also the maximum iso to 800. The image will be darker but much cleaner.
Thanks - I tried 1/100 in the second early morning run, but I showed a lot more footage of super night on that run and for that you can't amend the ISO. I think slightly darker d-log at higher shutter speed is currently more favorable thank super night. I'm going to do another test in the coming days of action 4 v 5 in d-log at 1/100 and fixed ISO to see how that comes out.
Hi, many thanks for the review, which I really enjoyed. I will get the Action 5 Pro.... for Christmas!! To replace my Go Pro 7, so I am sure I will see a huge improvement given technology changes over the last few years. I don't really need the camera for lots of low light action, at least while moving, so it should be fine. Can I also say, that your replying to almost everyone's comments, even the odd one or two that don't praise, is extremely commendable. If someone takes the time to write to you, it's great that you also take the time to reply back. Well done. (Australia)
Hi David, thank you so much for the positive feedback, it’s most appreciated. I think you’ll enjoy the A5P a lot coming from the GP7… it’s a big jump from the GP11 which I had to the A4 so going from the 7 for you to the AP5 will be awesome. The A5P is also way more reliable than any GoPro so that will be awesome too. The recent firmwares have improved a lot the 5 so honestly, some of the shortcomings I noted in this review have been addressed or at least partially. Thanks again for your comment about responding too, as you say, if somebody takes the time to comment then the least I can do is respond as positively as I can, even if the comment isn’t always so positive 🫡
I think that’s a fair statement. I love the pocket 3 it’s just not all that convenient to run with, but if it’s the only option for true low light high quality footage then I think I will make it work 👍
Well hallelujah, someone who isn't spouting the DJI hymn sheet. Everything you said there is spot on. I bought a second Action 4 but it's had to go back. I am thinking of getting the 5 to replace it. I'm confident that DJI will address this, but as you say, they need to do it quickly. Great video my friend.
@@Tojj29 thanks so much, I appreciate the feedback as it’s important to me to put out videos that add value. I’m sure DJi will fix it and the 5 will end up a great camera for all occasions 👍
Thanks so much, appreciate it and great to have you part of the channel. The firmware has improved a bit and I’m just pulling together more footage to put together a new update. Thanks again for taking the time to leave some kind feedback 🫡
You’ve welcome. I try to give balanced feedback where I can. The firmware updates to the action 5 pro has improved a lot of things, but the value of the action 4 is a really great option still 👍
Well done. Nice and unbiased review. I just received mine action 5 but I am happy with it. Had gopros cameras until now and have enough of all the freezing and camera not starting. Mostly using camera in good lighting condition so low light is not a concern for me but I am sure that dji will fix it. Also the most important for me is a battery life and gopros are really bad. My insta 360 one x2 and x3 are great with battery and looks like I will be happy with this one too. Also 20m diving without a case is great in case you forget your case and want to do some adventure diving to like 15m witch I mostly do. Gopro with 10m it's not enough.
Thank you kindly for the feedback and appreciate you saying that. Absolutely, the pro 5 is still fantastic in decent light and honestly I think it’s still the best of all the options, although I’m really looking forward to see what the Ace pro 2 gives us. Great feedback about diving and for sure, 10m is not enough for that used case for sure. Appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and great to hear you are enjoying the pro 5 🫡
Hi. Apologies if you have answered these questions elsewhere, or I have missed you providing answers to them in your video, but I have two questions: 1. Did you set both the in-camera sharpness and noise down to -2? My understanding is that this is best practice with practically all DJI cameras, as they can introduce artefacts like the ones you described. Sharpness and noise can always be added in post anyway. 2. Did you use auto exposure, or did you manually set the shutter speed in conjunction with using an ND filter? ND filters (where you have also set the shutter speed to a specific value) and digital stabilisation do not go well together at all, and this might explain the jittering that you experienced in some of your footage. Leaving the exposure to auto for action footage is usually the best way to go, and you can adjust the EV down if the highlights are being clipped. I also have a Action 5 Pro, and in general I am very happy with it, but I am looking forward to DJI providing a firmware upgrade to resolve the bitrate issue. Funny enough, I have the exact same use case as yourself, as I will be using it to vlog my runs! :) Thanks for the great in-depth review.
Thank Running on the mind for this UNBIASED review. I love it when you say this video is not sponsored & you bought the camera with your money. Some TH-cam reviewers also say their videos are unsponsored but they get the cameras for free. Your footage in low light condition shot with the Action 5 convinces me that it's not worth it.
You are welcome, thank you for taking the time to drop a comment. I will continue to try different settings for low light and of if I find a sweet spot I will do a follow up video as I also want to be fair of dji here. The camera is good, the sound is excellent with the mic 2 but the image quality isn’t much better than the 4 and the low light for moving activity is difficult to do anything with. 👍
As an osmo 3 owner who's been ready to jump in to the 5 or 4 , this has been a great insight and really well presented . As I motovlog I will certainly hold off for noo. Greetings from Glasgow .
Thanks so much for taking the time, appreciate you commenting. The action 4 is great and currently in my opinion, better value. If dji sort some of the issues then the 5 will become the better option. All the best 🫡
Thank you buddy - it’s a little out of date now as there have been a few firmware updates but I’ve reviewed the first update on the channel and I’m pulling together video footage for the second one too 👍
Mmm.....very interesting review of the 5. Using the 4 on my motorcycle channel, I was considering buying the 5. Let's wait and see regard the update offered from DJI. Thanks for the review 👍
Thank you sir - the 5 is better in general, but not by a lot in my opinion. The recent firmware update has seen a slight improvement in jitter in low light but I still think in hindsight I would have been fine staying with the 4. Appreciate the kind words 🫡
@@Runningonthemind so the situation for me is I use my action 4 as a camera on the helmet. I would like a camera on the handlebars looking towards me the rider. I can now buy an action 4 for just over £200. The action 4 is very good and does exactly what I would like. I could add a further £100 and get the action 5. Something for me to consider, I guess but thanks for an excellent video.👍
Good honest review, buddy. I have bought the 5 pro and think firmware updates will change all these issues fingers crossed anyway I have the action 3 and found it to be a good camera for what I use it for but better usable low light and the jitters needs addressing 👍
Thanks mate, appreciate you taking the time to write a comment, it means a lot. I agree, it will come good. I will keep testing various settings for low light.. we have a long winter coming in the uk so lots of dark mornings to work with 😂. Have a great weekend fella and thanks again 👍
Thanks, this is the review I been waiting for. I paddle, so waterproof is a must for me and I have gopro and been using them for many years. Thinking of upgrading my gopro 9, I also have gopro 12. Very happy with gopro but low light is rubbish, also don´t look so good on cloudy gray days, instead I use my iPhone for low light but is heavy and not that easy to use. Saw action 5 and the low light performance but as you say, everyone is sponsored and everything looked so good with low light. Your film in low light looks just as gopro, maybe little lighter but still the same jitter. I will wait and see if they fix low light or if insta360 will do it better.
Thanks for the feedback my friend, appreciate it. I have the GoPro 11 and I can say that both the action 4 and the 5 pro are both better in low light. I’ve tested the action 5 with fast shutter speeds and so far the results still haven’t been great.. I’d rather have a darker image with more stable jitter but unfortunately I’ve still not yet found the sweet spot with it. I’m sure it will all get fixed however, and we need to be realistic about what an action camera can do in lower light, but it’s something that was advertised as being a major enhancement so for me, they need to do better 🫡
It's absolutely amazing how inconsistent the reviews are on the 5! My 4 got water damaged but still works somewhat; I'm slowly changing my mind getting another 4. Great review!😊
Thanks David, it’s a minefield out there.. the 4 is great but advise just to wait until the first firmware as the 5 does have the potential to be fantastic.. it just isn’t yet!
Great review about the Action 5 ! I ordered mine already a few days ago, so I could also do a review about it. Like you, I often spend my own money on those kind of products, and then provide 100% honest reviews for my audience. However, even when I get sent something for free to review (which started to happen recently), I always send my "rules" to the manufacturer, which states that I will always do an honest review on all products, even sponsored, and also that I will never send the video to them before publishing it. If they agree, then we move forward to the video review. 😎
Thanks so much, I will take a look when you’ve had a chance to check it out and hopefully sooner than later DJi will send out a firmware. There is a lot of noise right now so I’m sure they will address the issues. Great to hear that you focus on honest reviews too, there are far too many people that are so worried about the consequences of truth (meaning they are worried about saying anything bad incase they don’t get sent the next new thing). I always look for people who’ve had to put skin in the game by purchasing something when I do my research on YT. 🫡
Thank you, appreciate it my friend. Will be great to see how DJi makes us even bigger fans with the firmware and innovation with it. All the best and chat again soon 👍
Just bought this yesterday, i do lots with my camera and needed something for canoeing, i am doing a resort building series on YT and use a dji mini 2, a galaxy phone with OM6 and bow this, i live in north Thailand where low light is not realy a problem, it gors from dark to light and back to dark in about 10 min, im looking forward to trying it out on a canoe trip down the Mekong (not all of it obviously). Thanks for the review, first honest one ive seen.
You are welcome my friend, glad you got some value from it. Your project sounds interesting, I will head over and take a look mate. All the best and good luck with the report build 🫡
I am going to buy my first action camera. A lot of contrasting opinions here on the TH-cam. When you say that you are disappointed with the video quality, do you mean it is below the Action 4? Which would you prefer during the day? Which one produces better SOOC footage with minimum tweaks? For someone who is not going to bother much with colour grading, which one is the better choice? I have my Sony A7 III and IV for low light. Might buy the pocket 3 next year. Right now i need the ruggedness of the action camera. Thanks.
@@Kunal0915 I still think the Action pro 5 is the best option, although in normal profile it does have a strong HDR look in bright conditions, which I don’t see so much on the action 4. The pocket 3 is awesome but not rugged in the same way as you say. Both the 4 and the 5 are great options but my advice is to wait until the 22nd as the Ace pro 2 will be released and that looks really interesting. If you really want DJi however, you’ll be safe with either the 4 or 5. There 5 has more features but the 4 is also built like a tank and works flawlessly 👍
@@Runningonthemind Thanks for taking the time and answering the query. I will wait until the 22nd and then take the decision. Meanwhile, there is the new firmware for the OA5.
Thanks Derek. I just tried to say it as I see it. My opinion is likely different to many other people and other people may not agree with me, but that’s the great thing about TH-cam because it’s important for people to see balanced views and to use them to make an informed choice. Appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. 🫡
So id want to purchase a camera that WILL be good for lowlight settings.. as i wake up to fish and stay after dusk fishing i was almost convinced action 5 was the one.. i currently own gopro9 ans that has high noise in dark settings what do you recommend?
@@OLC_Fishing the low light capability has improved a lot with firmware and it will be way way better than the GoPro mate. And for fishing I assume that you’d not be moving as much as do for running for example, so I think the action 5 with its now a lot better capability for night mode and the long battery life would be ideal for you 👍
Thank you so much for your review. I watched many others and yours was the only one that mentions exactly my concern: the performance under low light, more especifically the stabilization and the noise. And, unfortunately, it's not yet this time that I'll replace my big camera by an action camera to record high-quality footage in dark forests and alike. I had a disappointment many years ago with Go Pro 4 and from then on, I've been checking if the new cameras had improvements under these conditions. They all work perfectly in sunny conditions, but under low light, it's simply unusable, as you mention. Thanks again!
Thanks so much Alberto, I’m glad you found it useful. You are right, nobody talks about this and if you do, then every uses the same excuse that it’s a small sensor and an action camera. However, if you sell a low light mode as a major enhancement then you need it to work for action.. otherwise there is no point as we would use a bigger camera if we wanted to use it for still or low movement low light work. The good news is.. I went out and tested the new firmware this morning and on first inspection, using a shutter speed of 1/200 and the fact that they have turned down the strength of the stabilisation it looks a lot better. I will crest a video on my results soon 🤞🏼
Did you crank your shutter speed with low light in the morning? Also, DJI did confirm they will be doing a bitrate update with the next firmware release.
I did on my second run as I didn’t think it was possible to change it in super night. I can see now that you can do in super night also, so I will try it tomorrow. I didn’t find the images blurry, more jittery and with a lot of muddiness but let’s see if it improves tomorrow 👍
I believe this action camera is the only one with OLED Displays (correct me if I am wrong). How is the display performance in bright, glaring sunlight ?
i upgraded from a go pro hero 5. i noticed a big difference in everything! this thing is a beast. took it out surfing for 2 hours. 60fps. at 4k . still had 1.5 hours left on the battery, shits insane. oh and the touch screen works flawlessly in water!
Thanks for sharing your view mate, the info about the touch screen under water is fantastic as that’s something I’d never have tested and great info for people watching the video and reading the comments. Have a great day 👍
Funny that you talk about technical things here but constantly mix up Megabits and Megabytes when in comes to the Bitrate. That’s a difference by a factor of eight 😉 Also if you say that this is some of the worst low light footage you have ever seen out of an action cam did you ever use and compare it to a GoPro? Check out the low light footage of a GoPro 11/12/13 and do a side by side comparison with the OA5. OA5 in another league here and way ahead. And yes: I compared both.
Fair comment, I didn’t realise tbf but if that was the case then you are right and my bad. I had the GoPro in the past but have avoided it for years. Did you make a video of the comparison? If so I’d love check it out. I hear that the hero 13 is basically exactly the same as the 10 but with a better log profile than before?
@@Runningonthemind transfer and recording speeds are usually stated in Mbit/s (Megabits). File sizes in Megabytes (MB). I don’t have a side by side video on hand but there are many other reviews where you can see how terrible a GoPro looks in low light. To me everything above ISO 800 is unusable.
Wanting an action camera to have superb low light capability is crazy. Action cameras have always been newnt to be used in good light. Buying an action camera for low light filming doesnt make sense. That being said have you done any comparisons to the others cause action 5 does better than a gopro. Remember these action cameras arent made with low light performance as a top priority. Buying things expecting them to do what they arent designed for is the buyers mistake
I don’t disagree Josh, and appreciate your view. I said that I don’t expect the same low light performance as the pocket 3 or any larger sensor camera, that’s impossible. I just need the footage to be acceptable to use. The low light performance is something dji have promoted heavily for this camera with graphics in their website of cars and motorbikes zooming around in the dark. I should have said that my review was based very much on my specific usage case. The hype promoted a huge improvement in low light performance which is in some cases is correct, but pretty much only if the camera is kept completely still in my tests. That said, your point is correct and if this is as good as it gets then I will just have to use the pocket 3 for all my dark runs 👍
Thanks for the Video, I received my DJI Action 5 Pro Yesterday, and noticed that there was a firmware update, I haven't had a chance to test the camera yet, but I decided to skip the Action 4 since I own the Action 3, which in my opinion does a decent Job. I also have the Pocket 3 which does a phenomenal job on video, so hopefully, the Action 5 Pro should come close to what I need it for since I don't do low light shooting very much.
You’re welcome, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. I think you’ll enjoy it and it will only get better I’m sure with updates. The dynamic range compared to the 3 is very good. The pocket 3 is amazing I agree, I would use it for everything if I could. Enjoy the 5 and I hope it does a great job for you 👍
I never had the 3 but understand it’s still a very capable camera and a lot of people are sticking with it. I think it’s worth waiting a while and seeing what the status is of the 5 in about a month after the first rounds of firmware 👍
@Runningonthemind I have become less eager in my life. I believe that new products should undergo a minimum of 3 months of trials and errors to effectively address and resolve any issues. I will wait until the New Year
Thank you for your honest review, which I had been eagerly awaiting. I have another question for you, since you already own this camera: Has the option to keep the screen always on while recording been removed?
@@Amer-m8y thanks so much, appreciate it. You can still have both screens always on, and they can display a variety of info but most useful being recording time in the current recording and what’s being recorded. 🫡
@@Amer-m8y makes sense. The action 5 pro also have diving pressure and depth sensors which is cool and especially for somebody like yourself. It also has another 2 mtrs of waterproofing down to 20m without a case and 60 with. 👍
I agree with your review, but I would separate the bitrate issue from the sensor, which I found to be a huge leap forward respect to the 4 in noise production. Should DJI hopefully address the bitrate thing the 5 would deserve the "Pro" moniker. For what is concerned to low light stabilization jittering, I really don't expect this to beat the Ace Pro that could be a nice choice if it weren't for the crappy Bluetooth mic connection and the single display tha you continually need to open/close if you frequently shot front/back which I do during my trekkings.
Tnanks and I hear you. The bitrate issue they can address and I'm sure they will fix reasonably quickly with a new shooting option. For the jittering, I'm sure even in the 4 it wasn't as bad as it currently is (I'm going to do a side by side test to see with the same settings soon). I suspect if I played around with the shutter speed more and dji try to add something via firmware (I'm sure Insta did with the ace pro?) I could find a happy medium, but the muddiness and horrible oversharpened look in night mode (for what I use it for) is very difficult to find many positives in at the moment. I think for now I'd record in d-log with a darker look.
@@Runningonthemind I'm not keen to wannabe low light modes that often are some kind of "Jack of all trades" and do not lift well each scene you throw at them. I prefer to stick to the flatter color profile possible with lowest sharpening possible and recover the clip by hand in post. This allows for a few trial and error while with in camera processing you're done. I know it may not a be popular opinion on people that like the footage to be "just ready", but that's it. For the sharpening, even in DLog it looks like the new "Texture" parameter acts differently from the "Sharpening" parameter in the Action 4. It seems that it works more ore less like a "clarify" filter, but reading the DJI forum a certain level of sharpening is always applied. This justify the higher definition that some reviewers state on the Action 5. It's just that you cannot lower the sharpening. For now, because it looks that something sharpening related should be added in future. I think that DJI releases the new camera with those issues on purpose, just for the reviewers to state wonders about definition, battery duration, file transfer speeds, and that they add the cool features with time. It happened in past with other DJI products.
@@RS-qu4gd no, I think the Osmo is the best action camera, I even think the Osmo 4 is better than the new GoPro. The 5 pro has some issues, and for me there is a jitter problem even at high shutter speeds which I’m investigating to see if it’s actually my copy of the camera of if it’s a general issue. I ran at sunrise a few days ago with the shutter at 1/200 and still got jittery footage. However, for more general use it’s the best in my opinion.
I just bought this camera for use in some low light settings and night bike rides. I agree, the low light performance is extremely disappointing. My Pocket 3 has amazing low light performance, but I need something with “infinite” focus. That’s why I went with the Action 5. Battery life is amazing though. May return this and get the Ace Pro 2.
@@tomsgadgetgarage thanks for taking the time to drop a comment. I agree, the pocket 3 low light mode is light years better, but it has a 1” sensor which obv helps a lot. I used it to film a light show last week at night and it was incredible. The A5P is slowly improving with the latest firmware and I find now that the sharpness is less off putting and for me, if you film at 60p and at least 160th shutter the footage is now reasonably ok, not great but ok. That is progress to where it was on release and the first firmware. From what I’ve seen, the AP2 isn’t really any better in those conditions so for me so far I’ve resisted getting it. 👍
Here in Korea, many TH-camrs receive sponsorships to review, so no one boldly talks about the shortcomings. To know the truth, you should always search in English and read reviews from foreign people. Thank you for your honest review. Through searches on Reddit, etc., I was able to find out that there was a problem in low light. Could DJI fix this problem with software? I'm waiting. Originally, I was planning to buy it right away, but I guess I'll have to wait for the release of Insta360 Ace Pro 2 before comparing.
I hear you.. I think asking people to review their products is ok but it’s a catch 22 as the people that get the sponsorship or products for free are worried to get blacklisted from future products if they say anything about shortcomings. Let’s see what dji do but I think they are a great company and will address the issues. Have a great day and thank you so much for taking the time to comment and share your experiences 👍
In low light I tested my DJI Osmo Action 4 and the best results for stabilization has been when fps are 100 or 120 in 4k. Please set fps to the top in low light and test again. I know it doesn't sound right, but the result might surprise you.
Thanks for the comment and for the suggestion, I appreciate it. In my test I was up at 1/100th for the second early run, but I will test a little more, I’m going to do a few side by side with the action 4 with the same settings to see what we get. Maybe a week or so as I’m currently on unwell with the back to school illnesses that the kids have kindly passed on to me 😷
This convinced me to get the A4, unfortunately their A5 new firmware doesn't improve the quality of the camera. I going to pick up a great black friday deal with 3 battery and a selfi stick + battery care with some saving if I just bought the A5 alone!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and sorry for the delay in responding to you, I’ve been away. I think getting the action 4 is still a great option and deal, especially in the sale and the difference between the two, even with firmware isn’t significant. Hope you managed to get a great deal 👍
I've not run in the TS 10, but have friends who have. They are both great for that distance. I'd go with the vaporfly, but the TS10 is better value and less expensive and will likely get you a similar result.
That’s so funny. I see a review above that said hallelujah. I was going to start my review with hallelujah. My friend, I don’t know you, but I know you now and you’re my new hero. I can’t tell you how therapeutic it was to hear you ..all the other channelsthe big channels all fluff not even mentioning the situation. I talked to DJI today they said yes it’s coming within two weeks, but they don’t know how much it’s gonna be. I had fights with major channels over this and you told the truth if they don’t have the update within 20 days I’m returning it. I have another 20 days before I have to return it. I feel like returning it right now because I’m free something will happen to it, thank you so much for your honesty. I own many drones and I own the mic2. I’m a fan of DJI and I was so hoping to get away from GoPro. I had one shoot with this camera and yes, the artifacts are really bad. Nobody will mention it. DJI must give out cameras like candy to these people everyone’s being dishonest, and it was this camera that made me realize, TH-cam reviews cannot be trusted. Restore my faith and mankind thank you very much.
Ah thanks dude, your comment made me smile. I appreciate it and more than anything it’s because you appreciated the sincerity that I hoped would come across. It may not have seemed like it but I’m a huge fan of dji and that is actually why I was so disappointed in it. They either need to do better, or use more authentic and balanced review sponsors because what was advertised for some of this camera really isn’t what we get (I’ve no idea where some of the footage shot in the promotional videos come from but im sceptical it was out of the 5 pro based on what we are all seeing). Anyway dude, thanks so much for the support, it means a lot and you taking the time to share makes me doing this small TH-cam channel worthwhile. Have a great weekend 🫡
This bashing of other TH-camrs who don't describe the camera as bad is just stupid of you. So you think that only those who are very critical of this camera are serious TH-camrs?! What nonsense. I would agree with you if the others who praise this camera couldn't show such great footage. Even in low light. It looks completely different to this one. I have two suspicions: either this guy has a Monday device or he doesn't know how to use the thing. I haven't seen any other people's pictures as bad as this, so I have to agree with him. And almost everyone else who didn't post their video on the first day after it came out also mentioned this megabit issue. But they all had much better pictures. So what are we supposed to think: all the other TH-camrs are bought by DJI, except this one? You can't be serious.
@@Runningonthemind Perhaps you should learn to handle the camera better?! At no TH-camr I saw such bad material. And among those other YTs are a lot who I know since years and who I trust. I don't trust you.
@@mathiassiebert1217 the great thing about freedom of speech and expression is that we can all have our own opinions. I love DJI products and although disappointing results from my initial tests i only showed what the camera recorded in the conditions I need it for. Whether you trust me.. that’s up to you but you appreciate you sharing your thoughts either way.
@@Runningonthemind UPDATE. I"m keeping it. The reliablity of the app and Bluetooth blows away go pro. I want so bad to get out of the gopro hate cycle I've been in for a decade. The co. I do not like at all. The camera amazing but so un reliable. Thank you. Love your channel.
Personally I think you should wait a few weeks if you can. If you want the action 5 pro mainly for good light situations then I think it will be the better camera with updated. But the 4 is great value and definitely not far behind in quality and features. 👍
As a programmer in IQ , i'd like to say, for eg. an iphone just have a 20mbps bitrate, but still have a pretty good image quality. Actually when bitrate higher than 20mbps, that's all about the code capacity, which rely on chip platform (like apple A chip or Qualcomm 8 gen are excellent in code capacity), have nothing to do with image quality, but the insta acepro with Ambarella platform CV5 are notorious in code capacity, way way worse in bitrate control.
Interesting video, however the camera got a recent firmware update, that you mentioned towards the end of your video. There is now a "high" bit rate option. I'm keen to test this as I just purchased an action 5 to replace my original Osmo Action 1 On Digital stabilisation, its a double edged sword. If the frame rate drops, which it will in low light, the stabilisation of any camera that uses digital will degrade. This is because as the camera drops in frame rate, it gets more and more motion blur between frames. If the camera is fixed, say to a motorcycle, as I use, the stabilisation can use the bike as a reference to match the frames as it will still be relatively sharp. However running, each frame is more and more blurred as the frame rate drops. Great for using something called 180 shutter for motion blur, but really bad for digital stabilisation, which simply does not work in low light or situations where the frame rate is say 1/50, for filming at 25fps. You can try to mitigate this, but setting your frame rate to 1/200 and record in 50fps. You get some motion blur, but the camera should be able to stabilise the footage. However, as I literally just bought mine, I need to test this, but it did work on my Osmo Action 1 in a quick walking/jogging test.
Sorry for the delay in responding to this one, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. How are you getting on with it now? I’ve tested the latest firmware a few times and I’m about to make a video about it in the next days, but I think everything is now way more usable and they’ve toned down the over sharpened look in super night which is definitely a welcome change. Have a nice weekend 🫶🏻
I just picked this up and agree so far with everything you’ve said. I’m going to try it again with different settings but if it’s not improved I’m returning it. I can get a full refund as I didn’t get it directly from DJI. In my testing so far- the Osmo 4 is better ironically. This is definitely a step backwards… fingers crossed in my case but I doubt I will see a big improvement.
@@ChainBrothersMTB thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. At first I thought I was being a bit harsh but generally everybody seems to be having a similar experience. I love dji products and they have a track record of sorting issues so let’s see, but so far it feels like the released it a bit early before ironing out all the issues. Have a great weekend 👍
I have the action 4 and ordered the action 5 pro ... it arrived yesterday , after some tests I have found the low light performance to be improved with noticeable reduction in low light noise , Im not sure what your expectations were with regard to jittery footage but in order to remove jitters a gimbal needs to be used as in the pocket 3 , the action 4 was improved from the 3 and the action 5 pro is a improvement from the action 4 both the action 4 and 5 are better than the gopro 13 when comparing low light jitters. Perhaps you should stick with the DJI pocket 3. (the only other way to reduce jitters is to have internal optical image stabilisation / sensor shift , there are physical constraints to this as it requires more space inside the device, I believe sony have this on one of their older action cameras but there is no screen and is lacking other features )
Sony did indeed have this feature on the X3000 Action Cam. Unfortunately Sony just gave up on consumer goods and left the market. They make most of their money from Sony Finance these days, apparently.
@@ppdrum I have posted on many other threads saying I don't shoot action sports at night nor do I need 2 mics nor active track so to me its not an upgrade , if those are things you need then it is an upgrade, but you are sacrificing lower bitrate and in my opinion worse footage then the action 4 in those upgrades, I love dji and have many products including RS3 pro , action 4 , mini pro 4 , dji mics, this was the first miss for me , I don't quite get what was going on here with this action 5
@@shanique995 you are welcome. I did a review of the first firmware and posted it a few weeks ago, it improved a lot. There is a more recent firmware which I’m gathering video footage for at the moment but on first look it looks to have improved again. I think now it’s a safe bet 👍
When I got the action 5 I put it in water in a sink because I wanted to see if it was water proof as this is my first action camera.Of course when I took it out of it was fine but kept it filming then these black lines showed up and I thought it was broken or water got on the sensor luckily it was neither but a problem with the camera itself.
Was toying with the 5 as an upgrade from my Action 3. My use case is similar to yours, as a helmet cam in dense forests on dirtbikes. I make the A3 work for me by only using Rock Steady, not RS+. That stops the jitters for me and the footage is perfectly usable.
Great to hear. I used both rocksteady and rocksteady+ in my tests and the results were pretty much the same. For my next early low light run I’m going to take the 4 and 5 with me to do a direct comparison. Have a great day and thanks for taking the time to share your experience 👍
Great review ! Gopro 11 with goprolabs, 190mbps WIDE gammut, no use reduction off and logb400 and 180 degredes shutter angle, with smaller sensor than action 4,5 is definitly better than ones . Sony sensor (gopro) have best color cience. Gp with all this setting requiere a lot of battery and overheat easy, but quality and flexibility is great. ❤
Thank you so much for the kind comment. I definitely think that each brand has its own strengths and weakness which lends itself to some situations and not others. I agree that the colours and image quality on the GoPro is great especially in good lighting conditions. Have a great day 👍
I wish I saw this video first, I played an order for the new dji action 5 yesterday after watching dozens of youtube videos of people saying low light performance is way better than even gopro. This is the only video that say the truth about this new action 5. I could have probably saved up more money for a point and shoot camera with a larger sensor
@@cssplayer91 thanks, I just tried to give my honest thoughts but I appreciate there are others out there that disagree with me. The low light performance is better than GoPro for sure, the issue isn’t the low light capabilities it’s the jittery and muddy footage which I’m trying loads of tests to see if there is any way to counteract it. I even tried a shutter speed of 1/200 but it still wasn’t producing good results. I hope that you end up liking it though, it does have a lot of good and is definitely still the best of the action cameras in my opinion, the problem is is you plan on anything action in low light it just seems to struggle which is a shame but it’s the truth right now. Glad you found the review useful and best of luck with your 5 pro 🤞🏼
Thanks so much for this unbiased comparison, I was very close to pulling the trigger on an Action 5. Will definitely hold out for the firmware update and see how much better the IQ is first.
You’re welcome mate, thank you for taking the time to comment. I definitely still think the 5 pro is the best of all the action cam options at the moment, but there are issues and it’s not perfect in some conditions. The very strong HDR look in normal mode in bright conditions is also something I hope they tone down a bit in the firmware updates.
I own a DJI action 5 Pro and I do agree that it definitely needs a firmware update on that bitrate I think that especially in webcam mode, it is very over sharpened. I will never buy an insta360 camera. They were telling TH-camrs to give them positive reviews in exchange for free stuff. And when they were caught they never even fired the rep that sent out that email. They should have fired the rep and made a public announcement to repair bad relationships with the consumer. So that tells me that that order came from the CEO himself.
Thanks mate for taking the time to comment. Yeah the insta 360 scandal was a total mess wasn’t it.. shame they did that but also good it was highlighted as I’m sure other companies do that too. Hoping and I’m sure we will see some positive updates coming from dji soon on fixes. Have a great weekend 👍
Yay! This is the review that has 1k views but needs to be 100k. Alas, TH-cam makes money from advertising. I can see a firmware update that addresses bitrate, but that won't solve the jittery lowlight video which is a deal breaker for me. I have my Pocket 3 and GoPro Hero 10, maybe looking to pick up the Ace Pro 2 soon.
Thank you for such a positive comment Tim, that’s kind of you. I just try to make informative videos with as much quality and info as possible. It’s have the pocket 3 too and I love it but it’s not the easiest thing to take out running and I worry about dropping it. The jittery footage is huge but insta 360 found a way to stop it so hopefully dji can also figure something out 🤞🏼
@@Runningonthemind Hopefully! I tried getting into running (I've been a gym rat for over 25 years) but sadly my outdoor allergies and my body just wouldn't allow it. I have jumper's knee or worse on my left leg, and I start getting tingles in my calf when I run at a certain speed or incline. I still try to get out and supplement an outdoor run from time to time though.
Thank God that someone on TH-cam is finally telling the truth. With this bitrate of 60 it is a vlogging camera, nothing more and nothing less. When there is movement it becomes ugly, muddy and cloudy. It's a shame DJI, GoPro does it a little better with RAW and post-processing even in the dark. And in daylight the Hero13 definitely has the best color reproduction
@@JuiceBiker thanks so much that means a lot. The flurry of sponsored videos in here have been way over the top.. by all means have people give a view on the product but it’s obvious that people are worried about telling the truth about the current offering (which I’m sure will get better with firmware) because they don’t want to be excluded from the next new product from DJi when it comes. Appreciate it dude 🫡
Thank you. I updated it last night so will give it a test this week. Seems like they have worked on supernight and given us the high frame rate which I asked for in this video. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼
It’s definitely improved things in the detail and texture in the tests I’ve done but the difference isn’t huge and is only really noticeable if you pixel peep on a large screen. Best have the high rate and use it for all video unless you need for whatever reason the much longer record time (as high bitrate will reduce battery length) 🫡
Thanks for this, I'd looked at loads of videos on this camera and couldn't understand why nobody seemed to be being honest about the night mode quality, which as you say, looked completely unusable everytime! Glad I held off.
All of the early reviews were clearly sponsored or gifted. There are a few honest reviews out there now and I hope to be considered one of those. Hopefully dji will fix some of this stuff sooner than later. have a good day dude.
Oh, I realise that, but nonetheless, it surprised me that people would go as far as to say "and the night mode is great" over footage with constant hitches, blurring and stuttering. Something to think about when the next release day rolls around.
Thank you for for putting the time in to edit this video and share this information. I started to buy the Action 5 the day it came out for the low light capability just as you did. However, putting the low light aside, as I watched many sponsored videos from creators doing side by side comparisons with the GoPro 13, I noticed the GoPro footage in daylight was clearly better looking than the Action 5 even though they were telling us it was not, so I decided to do more research. After finally seeing more videos from "Not Sponsored" creators, It has became obvious that the quality of the video footage from the Action 5 has way to much noise and unusable footage. I understand battery life, but I can replace a short life battery, I cannot recapture unusable video moments.
You are welcome. I personally think all the different action cams have strengths and weaknesses. The go pro image quality is great but it hasn’t really come far since the hero 10 (asides from a real log profile now). Dji in my opinion has more reliability than GoPro and for me especially, the low light is way better. But dji are getting left behind a bit with only 4K compared to GoPro and what insta 360 are about to release with 8k. 👍
I have also upgraded to this from a GoPro 9 and if honest feel a tad let down. I use it for on bike and recent footage was just a ballache to get looking decent. Even when vlogging walking dog stabilisation is just not that good and walking a dog is not an action sport.
Agreed, the stability and stabilisation seems to need a lot of work. I’ve tried all sorts of combinations in low light with very fast shutter speeds and still can’t find a sweet spot. It’s great in full day light and sun, but in low light it’s just not there yet! 🫡

Feeling better about my GoPro 13 black purchase after watching this video! Knew the Action 5 Pro had some issues...but man! You really showcased the weak spots with this video. Appreciate the honesty! If that's what you use the camera for (early morning runs in low light)...totally makes sense why you should return it. Won't be everyone's use case but it all depends on how a person plans on using their action camera.
You’re welcome dude, appreciate you taking the time. I think with all the action cams they all excel in some areas and weak in others. I hear great things about the image quality in the GoPro 13 but not so much the lower light capabilities which are important to me. So totally agree that it all depends on how the user intends to use it because one case maybe totally the opposite to another persons. Have a great day fella and thanks for the feedback 👍🫡
It's ghastly to see most TH-cam reviewers are just shells basically, with zero integrity. Thanks for your honest review. Super rare these days. What a messed up eco system where lying is the norm.
You’re welcome dude, thanks for taking the time to let me know as getting feedback like that makes taking the time and effort worthwhile. Have a great day dude 🫡
Great video. I have a question. Why don’t you just get the cameras for free from DJI? Instead of paying for them. That way you can make more videos faster. Would love to hear your opinions more often. And like that you save money. Why did you decide to pay for this camera instead of getting it from DJI?
Hi Frank, I appreciate that, thank you. I’d happily review any running related or tech related product but not all companies like such honesty that I pride myself on. I’m still a small channel at the moment and haven’t been approached by anything that fits my authentic approach, and somehow feel that when you paid for something the meaning is more. If a company gives me something to review and then tells me what to say or where to use it then I’m not really interested because it then removes the integrity that I’m trying to build with my audience. 🫡
Nothing can be done about low-light stabilization. These streaks are created because the camera in low light exposes each frame longer and motion blur is created. Digital stabilization works in such a way that we see a slice of the entire frame recorded by the camera and this slice moves around the frame so that the content of this slice is as stable as possible. Unfortunately, if we have motion blur on the frame and the stabilization has to stabilize the frame in the opposite direction from the direction of the blur then such jitter is created. The only way to deal with this is to use a type of stabilization other than digital ((totally impractical in sports cameras). As for the image itself, I recommend using d-log, set the sharpness and de-noising to -2. The image will have visible noise, but it won't look like blurry mush.
Appreciate the feedback Sebastian and the advice. I think you are right about D-log. I’ve been using the sharpness and de-noise at -1 so far as that seemed great on the action 4, but maybe more needed in the 5 due to the increased megapixel count. I hear you on the stabilisation, I never expect the same level of stability that we get in the pocket 3, but I do think there is more dji could do but within the factual constraints that you quite rightly mention in what’s possible from digital stabilisation. Thanks for taking the time to comment and the detailed explanation which helps not only me but others reading it too 👍
@@HomeToursSingapore oh no, sorry to hear than mate. I’ve always got the protective case in mine and luckily I’ve not dropped it yet. Home insurance maybe?

@@marc70.3 absolutely, totally agreed. I am a big fan of most things dji produce and I’m sure they will fix the issues sooner than later. If they can make the bitrate higher and find a way to reduce the jitter in very low light then it will be just about perfect. 👌🏼

You are welcome my friend. DJI have issues a firmware update now (take a look at my latest video) and added a high bitrate option and also improved the stabilisation a lot. It’s now a lot better than it was 👍
There has been a firmware update! Did mine on October 30th 2024.
Are you gonna make vidéo on your Channel ?

SS Needs to be at 200

Hi, many thanks for the review, which I really enjoyed. I will get the Action 5 Pro.... for Christmas!! To replace my Go Pro 7, so I am sure I will see a huge improvement given technology changes over the last few years. I don't really need the camera for lots of low light action, at least while moving, so it should be fine.
I think it's fine for well lit scenarios. I never intended to use this for night time video. I got the Pocket 3 for all around and night video.
Agreed, I hope so as I am a huge dji fan despite it possibly not looking that way in the review 😂👍
Are you expecting an update to fix it?
@@philwebb606 yeah?😅
Finally a genuine, non shill review. Great video. Subscribed! 🎉
Thanks so much, appreciate it and great to have you part of the channel. The firmware has improved a bit and I’m just pulling together more footage to put together a new update. Thanks again for taking the time to leave some kind feedback 🫡
Thank you for the honest report. You've made safe $120 towards buying the action 4 instead and a $100 guimbal
You’ve welcome. I try to give balanced feedback where I can. The firmware updates to the action 5 pro has improved a lot of things, but the value of the action 4 is a really great option still 👍
Appreciate the straight up review vs many others I'm seeing. Will wait to see if DJI 5 updates plus Ace Pro 2 comparison when it launches.
Thanks for the comment, appreciate you letting me know. I think waiting to see between the two is a good decision and will be an interesting battle 👍
Hi. Apologies if you have answered these questions elsewhere, or I have missed you providing answers to them in your video, but I have two questions:
Thanks for the great in-depth review.
10:01 turn off the active stab and use gyroflow as post processing to stabilise the footage. it looks so much better.
I will give that a go in my tests for sure, thanks for the advice. Will let you know how it get on 👍
Thank Running on the mind for this UNBIASED review.
Best review by far!
Hi, great video 👍. As you know I habe this camera and love it. This camera will only be better with updates. You got a new subscriber from Norway 🇳🇴.
Thank you, appreciate it my friend. Will be great to see how DJi makes us even bigger fans with the firmware and innovation with it. All the best and chat again soon 👍
@@Runningonthemind gonna be fun to see what they will give us👍
Just bought this yesterday, i do lots with my camera and needed something for canoeing, i am doing a resort building series on YT and use a dji mini 2, a galaxy phone with OM6 and bow this, i live in north Thailand where low light is not realy a problem, it gors from dark to light and back to dark in about 10 min, im looking forward to trying it out on a canoe trip down the Mekong (not all of it obviously).
I’m also going to buy my first action camera. Thinking about the ace pro2
This is the most honest video I've watched on DJI action 5 👌
@@Runningonthemind Thank you! Looking forward to your video. Cheers
I think so, but I’m not sure yet what we will see on the insta ace pro 2. For me the screen is great, bright enough even in bright sunlight 👍
Thank you for this video, I was about to purchase the camera,I will wait for some improvement to the gittery issues.
You’re welcome. I hope we will see some fixes soon as it’s potentially a brilliant camera. Have a great weekend 👍
i upgraded from a go pro hero 5. i noticed a big difference in everything! this thing is a beast. took it out surfing for 2 hours. 60fps. at 4k . still had 1.5 hours left on the battery, shits insane. oh and the touch screen works flawlessly in water!
Enjoy the 5 and I hope it does a great job for you 👍
I've got the osmo action 3 when riding my motorbike. I love it. I'm still thinking why I should upgrade to 5pro
@Runningonthemind
For me, the most helpful feature is keeping the screen on while recording, as most of my videos are shot underwater.
9:30 , for the same condition & activity & timing wise, can you name me better product than action 5 pro?
Sir which is better vaporfly 3 vs Takumi sen 10 for 800 mt ground race??
I've not run in the TS 10, but have friends who have. They are both great for that distance. I'd go with the vaporfly, but the TS10 is better value and less expensive and will likely get you a similar result.
its dji osmo action 5 poisble for input source to video switcher ?
The only input possible is usbc so of the video switcher that a possible via usbc then I guess. Honest answer is that I’m not sure 👍

you're very welcome Nick, appreciate you taking the time to comment.
So should I hold on before buying the Action 5 Pro? Or should I buy the Action 4...? Now I'm totally confused,,,!
@@RocaTT1456 thank you for the explanation, really interesting and appreciate you taking the time 🫡
Do you know what soc dji use for osmo 5? I tried looking but not find anything
Interesting video, however the camera got a recent firmware update, that you mentioned towards the end of your video. There is now a "high" bit rate option. I'm keen to test this as I just purchased an action 5 to replace my original Osmo Action 1
On Digital stabilisation, its a double edged sword.
@@Runningonthemind Thanks, i've not done much as I've just moved house, but will be having a play in the coming weeks!
They make most of their money from Sony Finance these days, apparently.
the action 5 is not an improvement , im keeping my 4 and returning the 5
@@Tonellacam What is not improved ? battery life , low light , dual mics , improved screens?
@@ppdrum I have posted on many other threads saying I don't shoot action sports at night nor do I need 2 mics nor active track so to me its not an upgrade , if those are things you need then it is an upgrade, but you are sacrificing lower bitrate and in my opinion worse footage then the action 4 in those upgrades, I love dji and have many products including RS3 pro , action 4 , mini pro 4 , dji mics, this was the first miss for me , I don't quite get what was going on here with this action 5
@@Tonellacam I read that the next software update will include higher bitrate options
If i understand well is not necessary to buy a micro ssd card, right?
Yes - there is 47ish gig of built in storage which is great 👍
it depends on that around 47GB internal storage whether is enough for your use case.
@@Shadowsing_kw 100%. In 4K it won’t last long but a few hours in emergency cases is great as a back up. I will always have. Large SD in there too 👍
You'll get about an hour and a 1/2 on 4K 30. With it With the internal sd
For example I always send videos on my MacBook and delete from camera, so I think it’s okay to have 47 Gb right?
Thank you for your honest review! Do you happen to have an update for us? I wanna make my decision before the month ends 🤭
@@shanique995 you are welcome. I did a review of the first firmware and posted it a few weeks ago, it improved a lot. There is a more recent firmware which I’m gathering video footage for at the moment but on first look it looks to have improved again. I think now it’s a safe bet 👍
Wait, never mind. I see the update!
Oh wow, glad it wasn't an issue with the water as the camera as you know is waterproof to a decent depth. Did you get a replacement?
Couldn't agree with you more! Exact same findings i had the first time i tested it.
Thanks for the feedback and appreciate you taking the time. Hoping they can address the issues soon 🤞🏼
What is your view on the software? Safe?
Of the user interface of it? I find it easy to use and intuitive. I find it easy to navigate and responds quickly to what you ask it to do 👍
Thanks for your honesty
Ofcourse - appreciate you taking the time to comment 👍
Was toying with the 5 as an upgrade from my Action 3. My use case is similar to yours, as a helmet cam in dense forests on dirtbikes.
I make the A3 work for me by only using Rock Steady, not RS+.
That stops the jitters for me and the footage is perfectly usable.
Great to hear. I used both rocksteady and rocksteady+ in my tests and the results were pretty much the same. For my next early low light run I’m going to take the 4 and 5 with me to do a direct comparison. Have a great day and thanks for taking the time to share your experience 👍
@@Runningonthemind
Good plan, would be great to compare. 👍
Have a great day 👍
Would you buy a 4 rather than 5 if you are new to dji then?
I have both and at the moment I would say the 4 offers better value, but I think that will change after a few firmware updates on the 5.
Thanks for the review, very interesting
You’re welcome, thanks for the comment 👍
Hero 13 is terrible in lowlight. As in worse than bad 😂
@@SGSAutomotive And the brightened, spongy nonsense is better? The GoPro can do that too. It's just that GoPro doesn't even offer such a mode.
@@JuiceBiker I was getting a bit rate of 80 for my downloads
@@MrArjay123 what?
i recent update gives higher bit rate options
Thank you. I updated it last night so will give it a test this week. Seems like they have worked on supernight and given us the high frame rate which I asked for in this video. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Latest firmware update on the Osmo Action 5 should solve the low bitrate issue. Can anyone confirm this?
I understand battery life, but I can replace a short life battery, I cannot recapture unusable video moments.
....and I've lost count of the moments lost due to my numerous Gopros freezing or not recording audio
Was it my phone or yours going off..good review..hope noise of neo doesn't annoy your neighbours
Thanks dude - I'm not sure, I don't think my phone was but maybe my kids in the background. thanks - My neighbours are old and probably can't hear it.. and my kids are noisier :-)

@@marc70.3 absolutely, totally agreed. I am a big fan of most things dji produce and I’m sure they will fix the issues sooner than later. If they can make the bitrate higher and find a way to reduce the jitter in very low light then it will be just about perfect. 👌🏼
