We ended up staying even longer at Plaza Real, even though the price slowly increased each month. We started using Travel Republic for the online booking, as their prices were lower.. This was an excellent place for us to spend winter, and we would definitely consider coming back if we were in Europe for other winters!
@@naturerelaxmusic2598 Portimaõ is the second largest city in the Algarve, with loads of Portuguese living here so it doesn't completely go to sleep, unlike Praia da Rocha. Many of the shops, restaurants and bars there were closed when we arrived in November, and were due to reopen in March for the beginning of the tourist season. We really enjoyed our time here over winter, as we didn't eat out much, choosing instead to cook for ourselves at home.

@Kay Farrelly Yes, it's so much bigger than our Krakow apartment... I do miss being right beside the train tracks though as there was always something interesting happening outside. It's so quiet here - when we wake each morning, there's absolutely no noise! It makes for a very restful night's sleep 😁😃
Lucky you for the quiet. At least your not in lockdown and can still get out and about that’s a bonus. Here in Aussie, hot , busy and life is basically back to normal. Merry Christmas and happy travels to you both for 2021.
Yes, it's just so lovely and peaceful here. We should have been in Sydney now, after a month visiting family in Perth, and should have been flying to NZ later this week. It's sad to not be able to see family but we're looking forward to catching up with them next year. Wishing you all the best for the festive season and for 2021.

The bar at the apartments also do good burgers and snacks and is run by some lovely Brazilians. Say hi to them for us. 😊👍 ~ Lee

Thank you, @ParkerParker 😁 We don't like using aircon for cooling or heating, being naturally frugal no matter who's paying for the electricity. We wore extra layers and in the evenings would sit on the sofa with a blanket over our laps... nice and cosy! - Mandy

@Ed Ek Hahhha... we had to video the apartment as soon as we arrived, as within 15 minutes Mandy had strewn her things everywhere 😂😁 The fridge, freezer and cupboards are now well stocked up.. we could be locked inside for 2 weeks and be fine! The lounge is enormous! The TV is quite small so we've actually had to move the sofa into the middle of the room, to be able to watch it properly 😁 It's a great apartment... we're now wondering if we should extend another couple of weeks and stay the whole of January 🤔😀
😊 Telly did look a little lost, talking of which haven't watched one for a good four months or more, prefer watching great vlogs like this one truth be told 👍 Nice pool btw, refreshing dip after a challenging day beach walking! Or, at a push shopping or wow imagine both, perish the thought haha!

Yes there are some great deals to be had right now. This wasn't actually the cheapest! There was another for €12 a night but it was a studio apartment in a high rise further inland, so we thought we'd splash out the extra Euro and treat ourselves. 😂😂

Lee's actually from the UK (& I'm a Kiwi) but all those years in Oz has given him an Aussie accent 😁🤣 We tried giving currency conversions in US$, €, £, AU$ and NZ$ but it was way too time consuming... and we know our Aussie and Kiwi viewers are savvy enough to be able to work it out for themselves 😁😃🤣

@Photo for a lifetime I'm not sure if you're on Facebook - there's an excellent group called British Expats in Portugal and there have been loads of recent posts about where to get the cheapest/fastest/correct test before flying back to the UK. I recommend you check that group as it's been invaluable to us for all matters Portuguese.
