    Rewatching these scenes definitely shows me the parallel of how odin and Loki interact even from the beginning when eivor and basim meet. Something interesting in the dialogue is that eivor (odin) catches on to the way basim (Loki) likes to operate by calling his methods of fighting deceptive and cheap much like how Loki is as a character. While on the other hand eivor is a believer in exercising his power much like how Odin would operate. You can definitely chalk that up also to the way Vikings fight vs how assassins fight but I think they were throwing in some subtly into those scenes.

    I never played Vahalla but I took my free time to watch this entire clip. Until now, I can't tell if Basim aka Loki is a good or bad person. Would appreciate if any hardcore AC fans can enlighten me on this.
    However based on what I read in wiki; he valued family, loyalty and kindness but Odin kinda ruined his life. Plus Loki and his wife didn't want to enslave humans or being worship like the other Isu, all they ever want was just to protect their family. Still being trapped in the Grey for so long, might changed Basim's view. Still I hope this new protagonist in AC Mirage won't become the hated villain that some made him out to be.

      I see a lot think that Loki is a separate conscious in control of the Basim shell, but they are both the same being technically. (MIRAGE SPOILER) When Basim merges with Loki, it’s not that Loki takes control, it’s that Basim embraces his life memories. Since Loki lived for likely thousands of years or more, the conscious of Basim as an individual is but a spec in the total experience of the conscious of Loki, but they are the same being if that makes sense.

    • @ZB51_
      @ZB51_ 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      @@m.r4841 I somewhat thought that first too and he technically is more of Loki than himself again because of the lifespan difference in that Loki’s life span dominates his, but he is also technically still Basim as implied by his final monologue acknowledging his understanding of “a past life” and that he looks forward to finding others “like him” as in other reincarnates, these dialogues imply it’s still Basim only now with the chemistry and influence of Loki’s life experience that he has opened his mind to and the understanding that he is technically Loki in essence, but not quite literally so much in consciousness at least not in the form of possession
      Edit to add: last part doesn’t make too much sense bc Basim and Loki are in spirit one being and therefor one conscious but the point I’m trying to make is that reincarnation isn’t where one is born then overtaken by their former life, it is where the former life is reborn and continues as another being. Both are the same and separate all at once

      @@m.r4841 fair enough, I feel that there is plenty of implication from them merging and not outright taking one over and you’re saying the monologue doesn’t imply that, even though the direct text is Basim consciously acknowledging a “past life” and not “his life” as in Loki’s, you’ve given no reason as to why you think that isn’t the direct tell that it is. Also that’s really how reincarnation works anyway although I’ll give it to you it is a fictional video game take of it we’re discussing here. Regardless you seemed to have made up your mind so agree to disagree. I think Basim and Eivor were very good friends. I think both of them didnt like they previous souls (loki, Odin). Odin Betrayed everyone just for his soul to survive. Loki betrayed Odin bcs of his family. Loki betrayed Odin first, but Odin deserved it. In this deep meaning Loki has done bad because of good of his family, and Odin done bad just for his survival. Basim has done good, but his Loki soul confused him. It was Loki who wanted revenge, Eivor did not give a thought about Basim and his Loki soul, which is weird. But Loki wanted to revenge his family and kill Odin (now Eivor), but Eivor turned down Odin which means Odin now is not with Eivor. Odin is in Niflheim, suffering or dead. That means Loki aka Basim were going after the wrong person. Whole time Eivor actually disagreed with Odin. That means this sh*t is between Odin and Loki, not between Eivor and Basim. Aletheia was weird. I knew Layla wouldnt be the ,,Chosen One,,. Alexios/Kassandra suffered through pain and loss of his friends and family just because of Aletheia and Loki. Layla was the key, but not to research, but to treachery. Layla is now saving the world stuck in Yggdrasil, so that is actually good. Basim in modern time is more of a Loki, but i think he is turning back to old Basim. Anyways, its deep meaning must have been hardcore for Ubisoft. So, Loki betrayed Odin and Odin betrayed Loki. Odin then betrayed Tyr bcs of his survival and defeated Fenrir bcs he was his enemy, Loki wanted revenge and he turned into Basim, Basim brainwashed as Loki wanted revenge. He knew Odin have connection with Eivor, but Eivor turned down Odin, so Odin is Odin and Eivor is Eivor. Basim is Loki and Loki is Basim. Loki want to be Basim bcs of his family and revenge, but Basim dont want to be Loki bcs by this he lost his friend, but he fullfilled first quest for Loki, by force i think. THIS WAS MY OPINION AND I HOPE AT LEAST SOMEONE AGREES. Greetings from CZECHIA ❤❤💙💙🤍🤍

      If a newborn baby dies then it didn't have free will at all. It had no choice in whether to live or die. Who can say the poor infant ever had free will? And what of Catholic rules of baptism? If the baby wasn't baptized, would it not end up in Limbo? So many questions that no Christians have any credible answers for.

    • @patrickpettyjr.3134
      @patrickpettyjr.3134 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@EmptyMan000 First of all, God created all of us with free will. There is no age limit recorded anywhere in Scripture. If one decides to murder a baby (like in abortion), that does not rob the baby's free will, much like if I shot you in the head while you weren't looking. You didn't "consent" to getting shot, but that doesn't mean you have less free will than other people.
      Secondly, God Himself is not impractical. Baptism is important, yes, but not always mandatory to acquire paradise. Infant baptism, which is a very popular Catholic tradition, isn't really a practice rooted in Scripture. It all boils down to how well one lives their life according to biblical principles. That's the reason we have the law of the Christ, to begin with. (Galatians 6:2)

    • @EmptyMan000

      @@patrickpettyjr.3134 So you overriding my will to live with your desire for me to die, means I still have free will? Not the will to choose my own outcomes apparently. What good is your definition of free will if it can be so easily overtaken by another's? As for God's practicality, I hardly doubt you are one to decide that much, considering the rules of entry into Heaven depend on who you ask. Though based on your response, you probably see yourself as a God or the next best thing. Including determining who gets to live and die.

      @patrickpettyjr.3134 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EmptyMan000 Wait, what? Nothing you said in that comment was coherent. I see myself as a god or the next best thing? Huh? Also, me murdering someone has nothing to do with me taking away their free will, I only took away their life. Even when a person is killed, they still had free will in life. By the way, no one has the free will not to die, everyone is subject to death and judgment, regardless of how we die.
