Please consider providing measurements for solids (including powders like Besan, spice powders etc) by weight, and not volume. I don't live in India, and as a result 4 potatoes here in the USA may not be equal to 4 potatoes in India. However, if you provide the measurements in weight, then your recipes will become universally adoptable. Volume measurements for liquids are best specified using the metric system for example liter, milli-liters.
In Maharashtra we call this Karanji by a diff name - kadabu’ कडबू. To the stuffing we also add while roasting, fresh grated coconut, cashews/ raisins (both optional) and nutmeg and elaichi for flavor. Also we cook the daal first. Strain the cooked daal to remove water then roast it in ghee and jaggery. It’s call पुरणाला चटका देणे! Thank you for showcasing it and bringing to the forefront! 🙏🏽
