      Nevermind I found a way like yours , I put a tape around it and then used drive RATCHET , it's out in 5secs and taking out the weight I use vice grip put a little clothe around it and then I hammer it out. Came out very quick no damage at all.

      How do I install the weights?
      I can't find anywhere that'll show me how to put the rubber parts on and properly get the weights in the handlebars.

      first you have to remove the handle grip. there is a small two holes in the handle bar which is the lock of the handle bar end weight. then, you can pull out the bar end weight easily. you're doing in a wrong way.

    Thanks for the video!! Although it's FAR EASIER to LEAVE the bar weight on the end. Roll back the handgrips so you can see the holes in the bars. Use a pointy object to rotate the clips sideways so the tabs go under the edges. Then spray with some light oil. Pull it out by the bar end. No drilling or anything needed. Can put it back in if needed. Hope that helps the next person!

    Thank you friend. I was looking at the Honda manual for the NC700/750 and the black and white images are really difficult to make out. Honda recommend removing the grip first so that, as another comment says, you can release and remove the retaining clip without doing any damage. One of my bar end weights snapped when I dropped the bike on black ice, so I may have a bit more fun trying to remove it, but your video has shown me exactly what I am looking at, so thank you.

  • @G31S7

    I removed mine with a regular Phillips head screwdriver. I put several layers of duct tape around the bar end only and used grips to grab it and applied pressure on the screw while unscrewing. Came loose with no issues.

    Remove grips, push spring clip in the hole to the side or get a mate to push it in and use the bar end and bolt as a slide hammer.

    Honda just uses cheap hardware, I also stripped my bar end screws with a good quality screw driver. I had to drill the weight out with an 'easy out' bit. Just to have my throttle get stuck with my lever guards and made me drop the bike....I also tested the throttle before but its still got stuck. Luckily no major damage, just a couple of scratches

    Stick a can of or use compressed air to take off the grips. Get under the rubber and blow.

  • @stevec4748
    @stevec4748 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It would have helped if you were turning the screw in the correct direction at the beginning. You were tightening not loosening. That's why you stripped the screw head.

      Trying to remove the stock bar ends on the XSR125 was one of the worst experiences of my life. Had to get two mates to help me and it took all three of us. One of us pushing the clips in, one of us pulling the weight out, and the other holding the bike back the other way so it didn’t fall over. Took so much force it was ridiculous

    I have to say this is not the way to do it use a puller method, which you can use with a deep sparkplug socket and the screw that comes with it, possible use a washer to if needed. But very easy to do.

    Absolutely pointless taping the bar end up like that because the weight itself inside the handlebars rotates. Don’t bother using the tape just use an impact driver to remove the screw.
