Thank you, this is the best how to video I could find on how to do this. Its really tricky to do on your own as well, but it can be done. Much better to do it this way, rather than force it out and break the clips. 👍
I ended up just using the ends already on the bike. I installed the kimimoto ones that look a lot like this. Did not want to remove the weights so I just used the spacer that was in one piece and cut the smallest spacer to fit the original bar end onto the arm. From there I used the slightly longer screws that came with the mirrors.
@danamiller7309 throttle side was an issue. I ended up getting thin enough double-sided tape and doing strips on the weight. Clutch side will just tighten to the grip.
Can you not just remove the bar insert on the mirrors? Take the bar end off, then put the mirrors in their place using the original bar end screw? If that makes sense. Did in my head.
Did this on my cb because the rubbers in one of the weights got damaged and one of the weights actually fell out. Would not recommend removing them, unless you have a fairly high tolerance for vibrations. Those weights are actually extremely effective. The bike isnt unpleasent to ride without them, but uh, the highways are pretty rough on my hands if I'm at it for a long time.
What you said is true, the vibration from the handle bar can numb your wrist after some time on highway speeds. The weights are in there for a reason yes.
You don't need to Hold the Bar End Cap as you are Removing the Screw/Bolt which is not going to be Impeded by the Bar End Spinning, also, if you Spray a Bit of Lube Under the Rubber Grip you can Remove it Easily which will also Prevent you from Damaging it with Screw Drivers and give you a lot more room for Faffing around with Removing the Clip.
Hey, sorry for the delay, just noticed the comment, if the screw is too tight, gently tap on the screwdriver as you turn to loosen it, applying some penetrating lubricant before that will also make it easier. Hope that helps.
Hi, the weight bar occupies the whole space inside the handle bar where the mirror attachment was supposed to go in. Unless.you remove the weights, you can't insert the mirror attachment.
Yes, you could feel the vibration on the handle without the weights. That's what the weights are supposed to be doing, dampening the vibration. You win something you lose something 🙂
No, not even close, the mirror is pretty light weight. That is something they should have done to compensate the weight, or at least have the mirror screw on to the weight to avoid this problem.
To be honest, it looks awesome but, it kinda numbs my wrist within 10 kms of ride, you could see me doing that in the video i posted after this, just the right hand though. Again it's just my experience.
Sorry brother, don't know that, if you take the original screw to any hardware store they would definitely help, I happened to have a same thread pattern screw in my stash. Good luck👍

Great to hear that it helped 👍
So far the best how to remove end bars on those honda's. Ty very much!
Thank you very much, your video and the clear explanation helped me a lot. Really the best way to do it without damaging the original parts.
Wow! Thanks for the simplest explanation to get this done. very helpful!!

You should post a picture of the setup.
@@grinding-gears I will in the next few days, let me just make sure it's good to go at highway speeds lol!
@@bryantburn8191 so, was it good at highway speed

Did you von completely remove the old weight and put some new Weights in? Could I use the old weights again or wouldnt they Hold?
Thanks for sharing the video. I got a problem with remove throttle side bar end, the screw just too tight to remove, any advice ? Thanks

Do the bar end mirrors rotate (falling down) while riding?
No. It is tight in place
Why couldnt you just remove the outer screw and reuse it longer to install the barend mirrors? why does the entire weight have to be removed?

On the throttle side won't you damage the throttle tube if you grip it with a wrench?
No, you are gripping on the bar end weights. It has no connection to the tube
Nice video! Did you notice any difference in terms of handling without the stock bar weights?
Yes, you could feel the vibration on the handle without the weights. That's what the weights are supposed to be doing, dampening the vibration.
You win something you lose something 🙂
@@grinding-gears thanks! So the weight of the mirror doesn’t cope with the missing inner weights is what I meant

@@grinding-gears alright thanks for the info.. would you say it’s still worth it for the awesome look of bar end mirrors tho?

What´s the screw size?

Thanks for that.
Bloody pain in the arse though
Holy shit your's came loose like butter, the screw head got stripped it's like being welded in.
@unnf9971 it wasn't that hard really, if you just follow the steps.
☝😊💯
This is terrible advice. There's no need to remove the weight to attach bar-end mirrors. Just remove the silver sheaths from the mirror itself.
The weights spin freely in the bar so attaching the mirrors to the stock weights will not work.
