I love how Michael pauses to listen to the horse’s response with his leg aids. My immediate reaction would be to kick like heck and not listen to the horse thus escalating the horses anxiety. Also his magic words, once she is right leave her alone. My historic reaction before watching Michael would be to nag with the reins and leg instead of giving the horse a break from the aids to let her know she gave the correct response.
Lol I watched Steve Young with his horse napping not wanting to go past a herd of goats with bells on everyday, so he walked him backwards so the horse was to busy and couldn't focus on the herd. Didn't take long before the horse was comfortable.
