This is my favourite success story! I can relate so much to kim. I also have health anxiety, am empathic and I am additionally a massive people pleaser. I adapt myself to fit whatever person i'm with at the time, and I lose myself in the process. I also believe in the importance of a spiritual practice in getting through this. Its great to see someone who is also going through menapauae too. I am 45 and wonder if some of my symptoms are perimenopausal. Its so inspiring to see someone come through all this. I am currently on low dose antidepressants to help me sleep at night as insomnia was becoming a huge issue for me. Now i sleep much better which means i am more able to tackle this lack of acceptance of my symptoms that has kept me stuck for so long. I found it really helpful to hear how symptoms can get worse when we are talk about certain emotional issues. I noticed this happened to me last night. I did feel this was trauma coming up and being released, but its great to have this reassurance. I really appreciate you making this video. Thank you to both of you ❤ xx
I have so much appreciation for Kim sharing her story. After seeing mostly younger people's success stories, I was genuinely afraid that I was beyond help because of my age. Seeing someone in my "age range" who was able to persevere is very uplifting, and it gives me inspiration for my healing journey. Kim, thank you for your candidness, especially about Lexapro and progesterone.
Be sure to listen to the mentors panel on “what does recovery look like?” And Julie’s story! I want you to know I have worked with MANY women and men in their 50s and beyond. They just don’t want to be interviewed (I don’t blame them!!)
I’ve watched this story multiple times! I connected so much to this. Don’t turn red every time I drive!! lol Laughter is the best medicine. Thank you both
I’m only 29, been dealing with this since I was 15. I struggle going anywhere. I stopped going to stores, places with my kids which I hate because I feel like my life has drastically changed. For a while I was ok and would go anywhere but for some reason I started focusing so much on getting better and finding a cure that it has made my anxiety and panic attacks so much worse and I feel like it’s just never going to go away. I hope to one day move past this and live my life the way I always wanted too.
There is hope. I have worked with several people whose symptoms started as teens. My first question would be to look at what was going on in your life right before the symptoms got worse recently.
When I was looking at the triggers that added up and ultimately resulted in chronic dizziness, I wondered why more younger people don’t have chronic dizziness. It’s kind of a build up of stressors and there comes the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back. Sort through the stressors. I have noticed in the success stories, something they all have in common is limiting contact with energy vampire situations/people who don’t resonate with your sensitivities. Moving forward when you can. Create a good day when you can I’m so sorry you got this so young, but it makes sense to me why it happens
Thank you Kim and also dr Yo for bringing us another helpful story . Each day is a new and different day , thankful for the words , I have found that words have profound power , if not for dr Yo I’m not sure how I would be coping right now . I find joy in the smallest of things and along with my spiritual beliefs I press forward knowing this can be managed . When I live my life and continue to accomplish things I call that ‘ a victory ‘ . Thank you again for your genuine care for all of us ❤
This was so good. She is so relatable especially as a fellow surfer. Appreciate the honest non shaming discussion about meds and how physical conditions like menopause fit into the equation.
What a perfect storm! I’ve felt the same way, perfect storm of PPPD, long covid and menopause. So eternally thankful for your sharing and Dr. Yo for your everything!!!!
Dr. Yo you are extremely important to this community. I hope one day I will be able to come out of this as well and be on your success story. God Bless everyone!!.🙏🏽
Thank you for that interview, what a wonderful lady l feel a relief and hope by listening to her story . My dizziness keeps coming and going but l m hopeful.
Omg my symptoms also started October 25th 2023 !!! 😮how crazy. Soo glad you’re doing better! I can’t wait to start this program !!! Your story helped me so much thank you for everything !! ❤️🩹
Hi Dr. Yo! I watch your channel frequently and have seen progress with my chronic dizziness. I was wondering if Kim would be open to chatting and if you could possibly facilitate connecting us? I totally understand if this isn’t possible. Thank you for all that you do! ❤
I watched this to the end but still have no ideah how she hot better, what was her turning point, this all sounds very much psychological issues? I am really lost, i have terrible symptoms but this just confused me way more can you elaborate?
So insightful. I figured that was what happened when I go to the doctor or therapist. The spinning. Have had to use the breathing and 54321 to bring it down at the doctor and therapist.
I have alot of these symptoms inc marshmallow floor wobbly vision unsteady extreme lathargy sickness its increasingly hard to cope with i just wish i knew how she repaired
Hi Doctor . I was a subscriber to your steady coach app last year . I was diagnosed with uvh last October and I completely recovered during February of this year . However my symptoms have started coming back again for the past few days . What may be the cause of it ? Does the brain decompensate like this ? I have started physical therapy again as I have those handy with me . Any other recommendations? Also is the steady coach app still active ?
This video will help! th-cam.com/video/v6f-gFy2VxA/w-d-xo.html And yes, we still have our community if you decide you need it, and it is now only for coaching ( we don't have a general membership). You can see options on my website thesteadycoach.com
Dr Yo, firstly I want to thank you for what you’re doing. It’s so helpful to so many of us! My question is, I’m just over 2 years into having symptoms, and sometimes (certainly not always) they seem to be delayed up to 4 days after a triggering event (movement, wearing heeled shoes or excessive screen time for example), is this common? And does it still point to neural circuit dizziness? Thank you so much!
@@TheSteadyCoach wow!! I really appreciate your reply, thank you! It’s amazing how your symptoms can seem *so* very strange and then you find a community like this who can relate on every level. It’s so comforting!
Dr Yo!! Greetings from Scotland! I would like to ask a particular question if you don't mind. How may ( If any ) of your patients have Multiple Sclerosis. I have been diagnosed with MS for the past 3 years, however my Dizziness has only been through the last 6 ,months, I guess I'm trying to ascertain whether this can be PPPD / or indeed, MS, obviously you cannot diagnose, but opinion for patients with MS would be appreciated. , Colin.
Hi Colin! All symptoms are biopsychosocial, meaning they're influenced by your nervous system/emotional well being even when there is a physical cause. There is pretty good indication that even MS flares are biopsychosocial. Now, dizziness CAN be related to physical lesions in MS, but we have folks here with neurological diseases like Parkinson's who've found these methods brought them a lot of relief. The expectations might be a bit different if there IS a physical cause of a symptom but it's rarely black and white- meaning, even if there is a physical cause, in many situations symptoms can be improved by taking care of stress/well being.
@@TheSteadyCoach Thank you so much for replying, I am, and planning, on watching a lot more of your videos. I have committed some time to date, these are by far the best out there on YT. It’s certainly going to be a long journey. Interestingly enough, I’ve been suffering serious sinus issues for the last 18 months, the NHS over here is not a great organisation so my waiting times are huge. I imagine that has influenced things for myself. May even the cause of this given the amount of stress to date. As I say, thank you so much.
When the physiotherapist do manoeuvers to detect if cristals in ears and if there is nystatmus as response with vertigo a a reaction , Does it mean for sure presence of cristals or something else ?
It doesn't necessarily mean there are crystals, but there are pretty clear signs that the physio can see that will help him or her know if there are crystals or not.

After PPPD I’m so sensitive to fluctuations and most days can be pretty symptom free now, but any time the pressure drops (happens a lot here in CA in the summer) I’m basically down for the count. Totally! Delayed reactions like that are pretty great evidence that it HAS to be the nervous system.

Wow yes yes yes the neck!!!!!!!
So reading between the lines is this video telling us ahe had an anxiety problem? Maby i miss understand? Please elaborate if you can thank you
I believe the anxiety came about because of the symptoms.. like many of us experience
Did you work out what her resolve / turning point was?

I am pain-free and water also and I have an entirely different issue. Maybe it’s the buoyancy?
I think it's often because the brain predicts things differently in different environments.
