This show handled everything in a very mature way, devoid of any of the common to anime hypersexualized characters. I did not like how the situation was resolved though at the end. Still a high 7 or low 8 out of 10 and well worth the watch. Kudos to the writer for tackling something so potentially prickly subject in such a wholesome manner.
For real. I loved the show. The decision that was made for the closure really threw me off. They could have done the obvious route and it still would've been a good watch.
@@ZoinkiesCh The ending tied up loose ends neatly...to neatly. I'm not sure exactly what I really wanted but something a little more tragic and open ended. I really shouldn't nitpick to mush as there were moments I could feel my heart wanting to come out my throat.
SPOILERS FOR FINAL EPISODE!!!!! I was kind of bothered by the way they tricked Takae into moving on, then Keisuke just stayed on his on in spite of the fact that Takae wanted him to have someone he could be happy with. I get that he wasn't ready to actually marry Moriya, but I feel like after Takae had successfully moved on he could at least have tried to date her and see where it might go. That way he would be able to move at his own pace but still respect Takae's wishes of trying to move on and find someone he could be happy with. We didn't even need to see of it worked out, just that he was trying just like his wife wanted him to. Other than that, absolutely loved this series. It made me laugh a few times, it made me cry a lot, and it made me smile. Definitely worth watching! Now the question is whether the live action drama is worth watching. I've been thinking about checking it out as well.
There was definitely hints in the manga i think that indicates that takae knew that the marriage was fraud but i think the gesture of giving a shot as you say is what made takae move on. Also I haven’t watched the live action but i heard that the child actress did really well so, it might be worth checking it out.
@ZoinkiesCh I watched the trailer and about half of the first episode of the live action so far (something came up and I had to stop and I haven't gotten back to it yet). The changed the circumstances of Takae's death, and they made Mai younger (10 or less when Takae died). But I have to say that from what I've seen, adult Mai is really well cast, and Marika/Takae seems to be pretty good.
I mean I bet the show isn’t that bad but with the overwhelming amount of titles released every anime season no one is really gonna look at that title, being “my wife got turned into an elementary school girl” and think oh hey that’s totally not some weird creepy lolicon show, and I understand it’s not that as I watched the first 3 episodes more so to laugh at how bad I assumed it would be, but it wasn’t terrible, and while I still find the concept pretty weird and a bit creepy I understand what the writer was going for, however most of the anime community didn’t and it wasn’t just anitiktok that was making fun of it because that title did not help the show in the slightest and tbh without knowing anything about the show that title would put off any normal non lolicon anime watcher
I mean another way to look at it is because the title is so out there that it caught people’s attention. Just not the right attention i guess. Like if the show had a normal name like “re:wife” or something. People won’t bat an eye cuz the show is not visually appealing and the story is hard to sell to ppl
FINALLYY someone said thiss!!!

That ending was a twist and a half, 8/10 is very fair and the writer navigated this tricky subject extremely well.
