@@ShawnHartmann-ul2qk US homicide and shootings plummeted for twenty years from 1993-2013 or so, to under half of prior levels as the Us incarcerated more "super predators" and gang members. The last ten years we have been emptying prison due to soft on crime polices and of course crime is up.
when you say gang shooting's are a daily occurrence, yes, but most like this are gang on gang. Time to beef up sentencing.

What they don’t mention is the amount of poverty that is in del city and how rough the town is. It is not a “gun owners” fault. The off duty officer actually was able to prevent anymore harm. Without it who knows how many could have been caught in the crossfire between the del city and Midwest city kid.

I am sorry that you had to experience that. I have a teenage son he played football and wrestled. If something like that happened to us I can’t imagine the emotions we would have.
You shouldn’t have to participate in school activities and worry about something like that. I am thankful for the officer that intervened. It is sad that he has to be investigated because he had to discharge his weapon. He sounds like a hero.
I hope LE has found out who did this and have apprehended him. Last update I personally heard was that the suspect got away.

I feel for ya kid, but what did you think was going to happen? Gun violence isn't going to go away as long as our current system of guns are still in place. More people with more guns was supposed to make us "safe", but how safe do you feel? You can call anything "playing politics" but we all know the truth, and those denying the truth for monetary gain are the ones "playing politics". The GOP says it's a mental health issue, so how many GOP sponsored bills are out there for free mental health treatments? None, that's right. How many bills are out there to expand the current mental health services resources to help fight this "mental health crisis"? A judge just shot and killed his wife less than a few weeks ago. A JUDGE! It's not just about mental health, but even if it was, where is the system that should be in place to flag these people, separate them from their guns, and get them the help they need? Oh yeah, the GOP didn't want that either. It's lose/lose, and it's only going to get worse.

It’s not that restrictions aren’t effective, take Australia for example, it’s the fact that companies have marketed weapons as an intrinsic necessity for freedom. I don’t want people to be disarmed, I am and I know several responsible gun owners. The problem is that there’s so many produced and sold that we don’t keep diligent track of who has them which enables the existence of an illicit market.

There was no reason to share this unless you're trying to spread the racist narrative that black people are dangerous. Most school shooters are white.
Curious how you don't make a comment about "mostly White" schools when those shootings happen, but the instant a black person shoots a gun, you people jump all over that and start pointing fingers.

  • @ThegravityB

I can't believe that nobody can tell who the shooter is... It's obviously the guy in the grey shirt and khaki pants in between the guy with the backpack and green shirt and the dude that drops immediately... It's obvious... Look at the way he's standing and aiming... Starting dead at that man that dropped... Then watch him run away trying to put the gun away with no real scare because he knows he's the shooter

Firstly this is a left wing native American jurisdiction. Secondly states don't control crime, cities and counties do. it is cities and counties that control policing manpower levels and also that control 90% of prosecution policy. Blue cities and counties account for almost 90% of US homicide. Red cities and counties average lower average homicide rates than Canada.

There have been 447 mass shootings in the US in 2023. This year, 27,109 people in the US have been killed by guns, including 190 children under the age of 12 and 936 children between the ages of 12 and 17. In addition, 35 law enforcement officers have been killed by guns this year.
The US has the weakest gun control laws of any first-world country; the US also has, by far, the highest rates of homicide and violent crime of any first-world country. In the US, the 10 states with the highest rates of violent crime and homicide have no gun control laws; the 10 states with the lowest rates either have very strong gun control laws or are very rural. Among US cities, of the 25 cities with the highest rates of homicide and violent crime, 22 have no gun control laws. Of the 10 safest cities, 7 are in states with very strong gun control laws, and the other 3 are in very rural states.
The city with the highest homicide rate is St Louis, which has no gun control laws, city or state; New York City, which has the strongest gun control laws in the country, has a homicide rate 11 times lower than St Louis.
Strong gun control laws work to keep people safe - in every other first-world country; in US states; in US cities. All of the facts and all of the statistics prove this beyond debate. When will the US enact strong gun control laws, and reduce the huge carnage of guns?

    • @NoahBodze

    • @teo2975

Virtually all those mass shootings are minority (73% committed by the 6% of the population that is black male) gang on gang type shootings. They are up in Dem run counties and municipalities and way DOWN in GOP cities and counties. Also your "gun death" your numbers are suicide. If you count suicide+ homicide the US has LOWER lethal violence rate than half the g7
