- Hi friends! I have gotten lots of requests over the years for a DIY deodorant. I have always wanted to make one as well but for some reason, this project kept getting put on the back burner! Today I am finally ready to show you how to make a wonderful, effective, natural and skin loving deodorant. My family with sensitive skin has been testing this finished product and have had great results. This formula does not contain baking soda or aluminum! Interesting recipe! I've tinkered at making one myself before and some things I liked and others I didn't like, as with most things of course. The only thing I would want to add for myself is a starch otherwise this looks great! 💞

I use the good bacteria thing from Brambleberry along with MgOh and it’s a good deodorant. The good bacteria are definitely tricky to add into. Love how your formula glides on!

Are those bottom fill containers? Usually if mine come with a dome it's so I can fill from the bottom and end up with a smooth dome top. I'll have to look into getting some of the zinc. ❤
yes, it does look like you can fill them from the bottom, lol! Next time I'll get it right!

Yes I did the same thing when I first bought these same containers. lol I filled them from the bottom the 2nd time around and it’s so cute with the dome top! Thank you for sharing, I love zinc ricinoleate! Other diy deodorants never worked quite right for me but using this ingredient really worked! Thank you again ❤️
I’m wanting to make my own Deoderant with out Ceytol alcohol. Do you think it would be stable enough? Or is this to keep ingredients from expiring?
You can use stearic acid instead 😊

Can i use zinc oxide instead of Zinc ricinoleate since i dont have that.
Hi, I am not sure about using zinc oxide in deodorant as I have never tried it.
Can you add a scent to it?
So in this formula, I added Rosemary and Tea Tree essential oils which give it a nice fresh scent. If you want to use fragrance oil instead you can.

Hi Cory. I use Lume deodorant and love it, but it is really expensive. I want to try to make it…they use mandelic acid and I was wondering if you have looked into that ingredient to incorporate into a deodorant? Thanks!
Hi Cindy, I am going to be publishing an emulsified deodorant cream soon. The Lume brand is a water based lotion if I remember correctly. I am interested in a formula like the Lume one, I have never used mandelic acid.
Do you know that you can open the bottom of those containers you do put the cap first, get it upside down pour your product and when its hard you can put the botom on. Like this the product looks profetional and at the top is a beautiful smooth circle. Becouse when you pour like this its not really pretty. The containers are made exactly so you can pour from the botom. Thats why is the cap. I work with the same ones. Good luck ❤
