When I first began studying Ramana I went through a phase of ignorance where I just thought I plainly did not exist. It's that state where you know what you are not but don't know what you are. I am the Self. I am. I alone am.
Beautifully said. I had that feeling all during my twenties when reading Buddhism. I had to not exist. And striving for it. By my thirties ego ran the show for the next 2 decades. It has taken 3 decades and finally finding the teachings of Ramana Maharshi and especially this channel, that peace has come over "me". To experience that the expansion of Self, rather than the contraction (to non-existence) of self leads to non-self. To see all as "I am that I am" , brings a contentment and peace that evaded me 3 decades ago. I could understand intellectually the teachings of Buddha and Patanjali back in the 90s , but not experience "it". The bliss. Just that. So simple. 🙏
So you say that YOU alone "AM" ? What about me here? I do feel that I exist too. What to do now? Do you have your own consciousness and are you really real or are you my imagination and only I exist? Do I talking all the time to myself? Am i alone?

These comments on language. My feelings exactly. The H-word used on trivials. A loss of intelligence, of moderation, of subtleties, of reality. In this world of opposites, the many male wise ones are counterbalanced by the feminine: I am my (my!) body, I own it and honor it and care for it and do not make anyone responsible for it needlessly. A misunderstanding of the patriarchal teachings has resulted in a flaw in the consciousness movement in America, the dear body treated like a machine, controlled, alienated. Living in Paradox/Paradise comes from the marriage of opposites, which vacillate all the time. Matter matters, "non-existence" notwithstanding. Women (who have come into ego later than men) have a different experience than their brothers. Thank you for the profound wisdom of this talk. I like the voice, its tone and the energy behind it.
Personally, I have found that mind can more easily adapt to "Self alone exists" as opposed to "body mind does not exist". The body mind I find to be tenacious and the anchor for the delusion. And I suppose rightfully so, inasmuch as our most primal nature has survival as its function. So the ego would certainly co-opt this drive.
@@RomiW Your body is only a temporary vehicle in this 3D world but the mind and ego mislead you into believing that everything about your body represents your true self. The Self is pure consciousnessI am/God, that is within us. But....Right now with the body and mind, you exist as a person. Humans are capable of experiencing both pain and joy. To believe otherwise is delusory. The only thing to remember is to control the ego so that you don't get carried away with all the emotions created by the mind.
I am convinced that what happens is not as per my plan but due to His wish. However, one still has to act and do whatever one can thinking it to be His order. How do I know that it is NOT his wish what I am trying to achieve?
It is exclusively a consciousness activity. Consciousness minds itself into an illusory existence. Jeeva just an illusory victim of this give and take within consciousness. What consciousness supposes of itself that it perceives of itself as. And ends up being a Jeeva.
When something painful is happening in our lives, how can we just sit back, keep quiet and be happy? Consider someone who is tortured on a daily basis. Will you advise the person to just sit back and keep quiet?

I would encourage you to just listen to as many teachings as you can and resist the urge to jump in and disagree as this is the ego who thinks he is a doer. The teachings of Advaita provides knowledge which results in ignorance dropping away. Sanjay uses the direct teaching …this takes time to integrate and takes patience and earnestness.
Namaste Sanjay Ji, Can you talk about your experience about working as a doctor and how the Ego does not come up? You still have to keep up with your certifications etc, I am sure....but how do you not "act" from the ego space? I am having trouble with this ...
If life is already predetermined then when we try to change things or we “hate” things, with our ego, isn’t that also predetermined? In other words, isn’t the ego predetermined such that we have no control?
Can we actually will ourselves into knowing Self/Awareness Or does one need an awakening to truly realize it? Conceptually I know it but my mind doesn’t.
Beautiful Satsang. Thank you so much for these videos 🙏🙏.. Just a question- When I am doing some activity that needs attention like my job or household chores - I forget and struggle to stay as a witness. Scenarios like this - How to be in awareness? Also when you have things to do or complete during the day - how to apply this ‘Non doer’ attitude?
Know you are not the doer. The activities you do during the day is service. You are not the doer. When you do your activities not as service or worship, you do it for yourself; ego. When you do your activities with your ego, you still identify with the body and mind.❤

Thank you master, I don't understand why we reject the so called illusion, these are part of the overall. For me there is only pure existence like the water of the sea and waves are the manifestations. As Turya for the 3 others states. Then I can be the me and be like the eye seeing the me as part of the universal flow and then I can connect within my heart to the pure existence. I'm still me:-) But in adoration with this pure existence every where in movement. Do I'm on the right track Master ? I'm alone on this way. I added some yoga techniques like pranayama breathing.
I get caught in regards to the waking and dream states being the same. This is a major doubt that I cannot seem to get an answer to anywhere… Ramana Maharishi states that there is no real difference between the waking state and the dream state, only one is short and one is long. If this is true, than either beings in dreams have an apparent separate consciousness, meaning they also perceive the dream me as other beings do in the waking state, or this philosophy of Ramana’s is pointing to solipsism. Very difficult subject to debate, as at the end of the day there is no way to solve it without making an assumption I happen to dream a lot, very lucid and sometimes I do know that I’m dreaming. But while in the dream state and completely identified with it, there is truly no difference in my interactions with apparent others as in the waking state. They appear to be conscious beings, interacting we me. There could be five of us arguing different points of view, and I’m somehow on every side of that argument. It’s really mind bending I guess my question is.. Doesn’t this teaching point to solipsism? Would seem that it does. If not this means that dream people are conscious and dissolve upon the transition to deep sleep or the waking state. Would love to hear your insight 😊🙏🏻
If I may attempt to answer your question. When the Self is being referred to, it's not the ego small self (the thinking mind) that is being referred to but the higher Self that is aware of the small self. And it's not that others don't exist, it's that the awareness (consciousness) that they have that is aware of themselves is the same awareness as the awareness that is aware of yourself. There is only one consciousness which we are all a part of and all share in. And nothing (no-thing) exists outside of it. I hope I'm explaining this in an understandable way? I love this quote from Nisargadatta Maharaj..... 'I am’ itself is God. The seeking itself is God. In seeking you discover that you are neither the body nor mind, and the love of the self in you is for the self in all. The two are one. The consciousness in you and the consciousness in me, apparently two, really one, seek unity and that is love.
@@jamesmoore4827 Thank you for responding James. This is the understanding that I’ve settled on. As if I’m going to assume, I am going to assume all apparent egos are conscious. However, it does not really solve the problem, as there’s no way to verify someone else’s experience. If you are going to assume that the conscious in you and the consciousness in me are appearing as two though really one, than this would also have to be the experience in the dream state for Ramana’s teaching about the waking and dreams being the same to be correct. Meaning dream people would also have to be conscious, which is equally hard to believe as everyone in the waking state being unconscious. You can say tht it is all one, so nothing really exists, and nothing ever happened. Which is ultimately true, but this doesn’t address the experience from within the paradigm of separation which is experienced as real while in it Nisargadatta Maharaj also says to question everything, even his teachings, don’t take anything as true, because nothing is.. Do you remember being born? Did you’re parents create you or did you created them? How do you know for sure? These are questions Nisargadatta Maharaj asks us to ponder
@@whatisthis-y8w I don't believe, that is I don't have any real reason to believe, that what are seemingly only projections of the mind that make up dreams and others In those dreams are actually conscious as we are conscious in everyday experience. And I took Ramana's way of describing this more metaphorically than literally. That is, using as an example the dream state in a metaphorical way to illustrate a point. But you correct, one should not take as Truth anything that one cannot validate or experience for themselves. Having said this, I have no real way of actually knowing if others in the dream state are really conscious or not? I have no real way of actually knowing if others in actual life are really conscious or not? Are you conscious? Are you a figment of my imagination? All I can really know for a certainty is that others are appearing within my own consciousness. In my own experience. And the consciousness is the same in life as in the dream state. So all is still the same One consciousness either way. Have you heard the joke about the room full of solipsists? They were all arguing with each other about who was actually real lol. Ultimately the only thing that is really real is everything in your own experience right now. The eternal now. Everything else is a projection of the mind really. And what is the mind? Absolutely everything that has been observed by anyone, measured by anyone, known by anyone has been so within the realm of consciousness. So are the people in your own direct experience actually real? Is there awareness actually really in there inside that body? Ask yourself, does it really matter one way or another? All I can really say is that "I am". And I have faith that you also can say "I am" or I wouldn't have bothered replying.
@@whatisthis-y8w My advice is to use your own intuition, trust your own intuition rather than trusting thoughts. What is your heart telling you? I trust my intuition and heart over my mind. My intuition and heart have served me greatly and have been a lot more reliable than my thoughts which come and go. Abide in Self.
Thank you for these videos, I've really enjoyed them. I wonder, regarding surrender, what about when (within the dream) we are presented with a choice or command to harm another? I think about what a sage might do if they are ordered to join a military draft and to kill. Aside from Krishna encouraging Arjuna to go to war, I think most sages tend to suggest that one should leave brutal, dualistic societies when one can. The hermitage, the refuge. When the dream becomes brutal, what do sages do?
It’s not you or the vigilante doing the deeds. It’s god playing ALL the parts. GODS killing (or saving) GODS. This will all click if you listen to Neville Goddard.

That's not what Ramana Maharshi said, he said that Iswara is real and has a body and liberation inwardly (as the Self). But he said that this is only true from the standpoint of people who believe in the individual soul, so God does exist in the typical sense, that is why the Christian Saints like Francis of Assisi ended up having ego death through the path of devotion to God. Ramana taught the path of knowledge or the path of devotion to God, and said that both lead to each other.
If we are pure consciousness, then why we are experiencing this different manifestation of consciousness unless it has a purpose?. From my experience of consciousness, pure consciousness is just a highest state of awareness, infinite where the observer is infinity and the observed is infinity and nothing else exists. and ego is the lowest state, where the observer is finite, singularity and observing the outside manifested consciousness. We cannot be in any of these states permanently, including infinity while we are alive...let's respect the purpose that it is designed only to move from ignorance to wisdom.experiecing death consciously while being aware and alive, liberates from ignorance.

Beautiful one day. Perfect the next in Brisbane. Any satsang centres in Brisbane?

An x boyfriend of mine was a Narcissist. He was 100% ego and I noticed he was a false self. Acting all the time. Clinging to the 3D. Afraid of loosing touch at night he had to have a fan going ( white noise)
You don't exist 😂🤣😃😂
