    In the original video you can see the shark in the wave which takes place before this video starts, however no one was bitten. The 1 surfer spotted the shark just meters away and the 4 of them swam back to the reef. The shark didn't follow.

      HATE how media/news try to make it something it wasn't and to fear sharks and make them the bad guys. FYI we swim/surf/dive,etc. In THEIR home, they fear us more than we do of them. They are most always just curious and usually most always swim away. Look at hammerheads, you can't ever swim close to one usually. I honestly think media/news and commercials on things that they lie about should be sued and or get arrested for false claims.. its a huge disgusting problem and so many people are falling for them. Specially faking news to get more hits on their pages, and or more fame. Reality TV, fake news. It's sad.

      What species of shark? Because whites attack people far more often than any other species..even significantly more than Tigers and Bulls and there are only 3500 whites in the world.. millions of miles of coastline around the world and only 3500 of those sharks. Do the math. It's not statistically likely that you'll be in close proximity to THAT type of shark at any random beach. Some beaches are far more likely to have them than others but many almost never have whites around.

    I once saw a shark while on my paddleboard about 3 Meters long and about 2 Meters away, my first reaction was to start paddling fast to get away but after paddling fast twice I then I realised the splashing would make it more interested in attacking so I paddled away nice n slow, splashing around frantically is not a good idea, that's what a food source would do, you would have been assessed many times by sharks but your not the smell there after they keep hunting n leave you be, the shark I seen was just swimming slowly next to me was curious not furious

    • @catsooey
      @catsooey 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s amazing, and scary! I love sharks but I’ve never seen one up close. Was it a white? I’m planning to start surfing soon so I might get my chance to see one. I live in Western MA and I’ve been surfing a few times at Nauset at the national sea shore, but that’s 4 - 4.5 hours away so I don’t get down there that much. But at 43 - after living most of my life living in New England and wishing I was near a surf spot - I just realized Narragansett, RI is less than 2 hours away and it’s the surfing capital of New England. I’m so stoked! Getting a snowboard too to hit the mountains in the winter.

    It's this shit that causes fear mongering and the negativity towards sharks. He wasn't bitten. The shark didn't even show interest in them. I live in Australia and sharks are everywhere along WA atm but there's fuck all attacks...and a lot of them are close to shore. Biiiig ones too. You'd have to be extremely unlucky or in waters at the wrong time (overcast/rough waves/dusk to dawn etc) to be attacked. I've been swimming where sharks are well known to be and never encountered one. You're more likely to die in a car accident on the way home.
    If they attack it's either because they're provoked or starving due to illness or old age. Juvies might attack from inexperience but even that's rare.

    I don’t understand Australians and their mindless risk taking. Their country is known to be shark infested with a bad record of attacks on humans and yet we see surfers doing their thing in those dangerous waters, or swimmers getting far from the coast. I would never set a foot on Austrlian waters. Either you risk been killed or injured by a shark, or by a crocodile in the north beaches, or poisoned by the blue jelly fish.

    I'll save you time: DOES NOT SHOW A SHARK BITING A SURFER'S LEG. You're welcome. Eff these a-holes for posting this with this title.

    I hear that the gnomes are particularly viscous at this time of year. Sad.

    I saw a still photo of a shark 10' behind 2 surfers, I hear a kot of tennis match grunts, however I didn't see a surfer get bit by a shark. Two guy's and a shark in the same picture doesn't equal catching a shark bite a surfer. I didn't see any moving video of the shark at all.
