In the original video you can see the shark in the wave which takes place before this video starts, however no one was bitten. The 1 surfer spotted the shark just meters away and the 4 of them swam back to the reef. The shark didn't follow.

I once saw a shark while on my paddleboard about 3 Meters long and about 2 Meters away, my first reaction was to start paddling fast to get away but after paddling fast twice I then I realised the splashing would make it more interested in attacking so I paddled away nice n slow, splashing around frantically is not a good idea, that's what a food source would do, you would have been assessed many times by sharks but your not the smell there after they keep hunting n leave you be, the shark I seen was just swimming slowly next to me was curious not furious
That’s amazing, and scary! I love sharks but I’ve never seen one up close. Was it a white? I’m planning to start surfing soon so I might get my chance to see one. I live in Western MA and I’ve been surfing a few times at Nauset at the national sea shore, but that’s 4 - 4.5 hours away so I don’t get down there that much. But at 43 - after living most of my life living in New England and wishing I was near a surf spot - I just realized Narragansett, RI is less than 2 hours away and it’s the surfing capital of New England. I’m so stoked! Getting a snowboard too to hit the mountains in the winter.
I just watched like 10 times I don't see shark. It's their feet swinging in the air that almost looks like dorsal fin but Def no shark...visible anyways.

It's this shit that causes fear mongering and the negativity towards sharks. He wasn't bitten. The shark didn't even show interest in them. I live in Australia and sharks are everywhere along WA atm but there's fuck all attacks...and a lot of them are close to shore. Biiiig ones too. I've been swimming where sharks are well known to be and never encountered one. You're more likely to die in a car accident on the way home. If they attack it's either because they're provoked or starving due to illness or old age. Juvies might attack from inexperience but even that's rare.
