For trying to cover some of the most notorious cheese, this is simply amazing. I wish I had this video guide when I was starting out, although there were a couple of things I didn't know. A lot of these things are evident even in red and purple ranks so it's a great video for most players, I'd say. You've done a fabulous job, I'm subscribing. Cheers mate.
This video was SO useful. Recently King's low kicks almost gave me heart attacks because no matter how I tried I just couldn't block them (I'm trying to learn the game with Jin). Now I'm sure I am doing the down input instead of DB. And don't even get me started on other bullshit the other characters have. Thanks mate, I'll 100% subscribe!!
You mean Kings Alley kicks? You can block one of them and interrupt him with a hopkick for instance. Or block one and low parry the one after. The whole string that ends with a mid has always been launch punishable on block.
Claudio's WR2 is a +7 on block high. His double magic 4 is a double high. His sidestep low sweep is +6 on hit and only -12 on block! Claudio's twin pistons are launch punishable. Starburst D22 can be blocked on reaction even on hit, but it's only -12 ("He's tying your shoes"). His axe kick after the knee (B33) is a CH launcher that's -12 on block. Just hold block against green ranked Claudios and use your 12f punisher a bunch.
Excellent video. I'm completely new to the FGC and have picked Tekken as my game of choice! Next time I play, I'm going to focus on defence and punishing
Really really good Video. To me, especially the Character in depth analysis was very useful! So thanks a lot! The big roster is the biggest problem at the beginning.....
Extremely helpful video, I learned that breaking throws isn’t 1+3 or 2+4. I also learned notation. I still can’t block snake edges, but maybe that’s due to me playing nothing but treasure battle, as I have no way to get PlayStation Plus to play online lol
Thanks man- to be honest, when I went into recording down in those ranks I didn't see one Xiaoyu so didn't really know exactly what a Teal/Green rank Ling player would be like! That said, TheMainManSwe has an excellent "How to Fight Xiaoyu" break down which is worth watching.
I really expected Ganryu to be on this list with his down+2,2,2,2... spam after he got your hp lower than his to either bring your hp down to zero if you're not blocking, or win by time out when you are blocking. This is countered by using a low parry. I had it happen to me and it was quite frustrating, so here's the answer for those who may have/had to deal with that cheap cheese.
Spammers usually only spam handful of moves. Just start ducking if they spam lows or highs. They aren't smart enough to use mids much. Some characters are very hard to deal with like Eddie and Chloe.
Surprised Nina wasn't mentioned. The only character I've lost 15 rounds in a row due to the cheese. Of course after the first 4 losses I changed my mindset to "just try to learn the strings." Nah, lol.
just recently bought t7 and im losing my fucking mind at these people im encountering. i srsly consider just uninstalling again. its the single most frustrating onlinegaming experience ive EVER had. even Starcraft 1 was less aids compared to this.
Who do you main? Is there anyone char in general that causes you the most grief? I may do a follow up to this vid later in the year so always interested to find out what it's like for new players.
@@beigemaster @Beigemaster Ok, so, i know what you gonna say. but its steve :S i tried alot of characters: lee, law, dragunov, kazuya, hwoarang, feng. but steve for me is the most engaging, have played him in tekken 5, pretty much exclusively but that was so many years ago, and ofc, basically only against cpu and friends. the most troube? ... mhhhh basically out of this list, asuka, lili, bob. (mind you i dont own ANY dlc character) but out of them, probably: kunimitsu, safina, lili... almost all of them i think lol
@@theanti-hypemonitor9079 I’ve never really played Steve so can’t really help, ‘That Blasted Salami’ is a Steve main and has a comprehensive guide that’s probably worth checking out. Steve is a CH monster and people in the low ranks love to throw buttons all day long- which I admit is probably a trickier skill to master rather than just block punishing everything. I guess it’s a case of studying when your opponent likes to press and timing your B1 to score the launch. Steve has some crazy evasion as well which will probably help you weave in and out of trouble! Good luck!
A few years ago, i always thought "while standing" is a move to be done while you are literally in the standing position, not in the act of standing 🤣. Must be an american thing
It gets a bit confusing because in some fighting games it's referred to as "While Rising" which (although makes a bit more sense) wasn't adapted in Tekken because the notation for "While Rising" would be "WR" but in Tekken "WR" means "While Running" X¬D
"The bull is stronger, but the Matador is smarter" - what a /BRILLIANT/ quote to frame the video with!!!!
Let's normalise a cruel bloodsport /s but also not /s

The best Tekken tutorial video I've ever watched! thanks for taking the time to make it.

Thanks a lot for this video man, there have been quite a few people giving me trouble with their spam. I look forward to our next encounter.
Gold! Immensely helpful, thanks a lot for creating and sharing this with us.

Actually, it's harder to block snake edges online since there is lag; which is why low rank online players spam it.
@@tugsuumovies1999 Honestly, I get snake edged by the cpu
I do wish you made a segment for Xiaoyu but nonetheless a great guide overall! Thanks

Superb content, very helpful with great examples. Well done, subscribed!

That's a good shout, but being both DLC and quite a rare character, it's not something I thought to include.
Best guide

Quality video , hopefully you jump into the sf6 wave to get increase your subscribers, your videos are great 👍😃
Thanks- but I haven't played SF or any other 2D fighting game since 1993 so I'd be starting from scratch!
This is amazing
This guide helps because of annoying ass spammers loves to press buttons

I hate fighting ganryu, i lost to the same buttons everytime.
I hate low moves that launch you without needing to be ch.
I hate Lei so much.
0:50 (except for smash or brawlhalla)
11:48 b+3+4, not f+3+4. f+3+4 is fly stance.
Thanks buddy- not a specialist on Alisa!
