I live in Mississippi and in my city we do not sell lottery tickets. I don't think they sell them in the state at all i will have to travel 3 hours or more to the next state if i want to purchase a lottery ticket.

I've purchased the entire roll of 10 dollar tickets. I made my money back. And I won extra. Also before you buy a scratch off know what prizes are still in play. Because if the high prizes are gone they will still sell the tickets but that chance of winning big is gone. Then only buy the scratch off tickets that still have high prizes in play. That's what I do.

My biggest win on tickets was when I bought 2 $5 tickets in Amarillo, Texas and one was $500 and the other was $5. Got to the casino in New Mexico and won $700 at the casino the same day. Biggest win ever was in Vegas. Put $60 in the machine. (It was a $3 max bet) and I won $2200 after pulling it one time for $3.
A year ago i went into a store and bought a $5 sevens ticket and the guy at the counter asked me how i was doing and i said great but i would be better if i win $500. He then told me if i did id have to buy him lunch and i left. i scrathed it and thought it was a no winner and put it aside but then i decided to check again. It was a $500 dollar winner and went right back and told the guy i told you man. He just said i was lucky. Kinda funny how i called the amount before winning.
Did you buy him lunch? That's expected you know. My husband works at a 7-ll that sells a lot of lottery tickets, and if you win big you're supposed to tip the clerk that sold you the ticket a little bit just to be nice. Most people do that.

Most scratch offs have a 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 chance to win. My approach is to buy that many of the same ticket. I'll buy 4 or 5 whatever the odds are. I almost always win something. Rarely a big payout. Also you can go on the lottery website in Michigan (not sure about other states), and view the number of prizes available and the number of winners sold. The benefit of checking the website ahead of time, is you don't waste money on a ticket that already payed out the big prizes.
Yes, I try to cover my odds when I can afford to. This was just a fun experiment to see what the outcome would be. It only takes one ticket so I wanted to see how that turned out. :) Thanks for watching.

You would be better to go down to the local pawn shop and purchase $240.00 in silver rounds and put them into your drawer and forget about them. Pretty soon you will have a whole damn drawer full of silver and then you can sell it when it goes above the spot price you paid and make out like a bandit. There's a lot of ways to make money. In this case, I gamble for free because the revenue I make from my channel allows me to pay for my tickets. So, there's the chance to make money and play the lottery which I enjoy. I doubt most people would enjoy a video of me buying silver from the pawn shop. I do this because I love it.

Yep I bought a book of Florida scratch tickets once. Spent $300 on a book of $5 scratch off's. I was thinking I should have at least a big winner somewhere but wound up only losing $15. So in this case the house always wins.

Tami: Your statement just goes to show that you know nothing about probabilities (odds). Even with 1 in 4 chances - it is entirely possible to buy 100 tickets and not have a single winner. It is also possible to buy 10 tickets and have them all be winners. There are so many tickets printed in a series that the purchase of multiple tickets are roughly independent events - an example is rolling a die. There is one chance in 6 of rolling a 1. But just because the first roll does not produce the desired 1 does not mean that your odds of rolling a 1 the next time is improved. It is still 1 in 6, even if you have previously rolled the die 20 times and never got a 1.
My best scratch off was trying to get my friend to stop buying tickets in hopes of winning. He kept going to the atm in the store I said let’s just split the next ticket and you need to stop he said no way I’m going to win you buy it yourself and I will be right back. Long story short he got out 60 more they were 30 dollar tickets I bought the next one he lost. My ticket won 500 dollars he was heart broken. Like I said he’s my friend I gave him half and he was a little ahead and learned a valuable lesson.
This is not about scratch offs but... Years ago I won, through a local radio station, $100 in plays on our local lottery..that was 100 tickets! You would think I would've won something but nooooo, not a damn winner in the bunch. I told the store clerk I would have been pi*sed if I was the one that paid for them. Another quick one...a new game came out and they gave away a free ticket. I went to the store and got mine, after the draw I ended up winning $500!
Lottery tickets = A tax on the poor. Statistically the overwhelming majority of buyers (players?) are lower income and the least able to afford it. It's gross and wrong. Don't be a fool. Use that money and invest it in penny stocks, Acorn or something like that.
I do it purely because I enjoy it. This channel allows me to not only play the lottery for free but to make money off of it. I've always loved to play I just had to find a creative way not to spend a fortune.
If you buy according to the odds you will most likely have a winner. For example, if the odds are 1:4.75, buy 5 tickets, you will usually have at least one winner. It might not be a big winner; but it will be a winner. So, if you want to encourage yourself to play the lottery, buy according to the odds, If you want to discourage yoursel about the lottery buy one ticket at a time.
When I was a cashier I would buy tickets on my break sometimes well we had this one what no one wanted to ever buy so I was going to buy the last 3 then someone came in asked for 4 1$ tickets I sold him the ones I was getting ready to buy and one was a 1k ticket I was so down the rest of the night
When I turned 18, I remember this one time when I had only 5 bucks and payday was 4 days away. I needed gas, but instead of getting 5 dollars worth, I got 4 and one scratcher. I won 30 bucks (still the most I won from one of these lol).

More than a few times Ive had losing tickets scanned only to come up winner even tho the actual scratch revealed no prize. Always scan your tickets dont just scratch.
hey you I know this is true, cause last year I scratched a 5 dollar ticket it said I had won $25, checked the letter code at the bottom it read "TWF", but when it was scanned to cash in, it kept coming up $50. The cashier and myself were in shock, cause the ticket definitely said $25. And I've had a losing ticket that was worth $10 But it was definitely a losing ticket.

Stopped playing Lottos last year because I NEVER IN 15 OR 20 YEARS WON MORE THAN $100 99% losing. I statred play at a Casino that is only 8 miles away and in the 10 or 11 months I am ahead over $4000. One large win $2700 and rest $50 to a couple of hundred. I will neve play Lotto again.

I'm not sure how other states do it, but Missouri Lottery proceeds go back to the schools. This helps special education programs, A+ scholarships, book funding and many more. So hey, thank a teacher by giving them scratchers!
A few years ago (in March 2016) I bought a TX Lottery $1 #Lucky Ticket and won the maximum amount of $3000. No joke. I had to drive to Dallas to cash in my ticket. After waiting about 30 minutes, the lady came back to the window after validating the ticket and said that she has never seen that high of a winner out of a $1 ticket. I had never played scratch offs before but my husband got a $5 Florida monopoly one out of a machine at Winn Dixie for his birthday and won $100, I figured that I might as well try it, every week I've gone back and gotten the same $5 monopoly ticket and even some $1 and $2 ones, never one a single dollar off of anything.

I’m similiar to this story as I win at the most 100 on tickets, my wife on the other hand in less than a one week period hit roughly 8 grand. 5000 on a $10 monopoly , back to back 500 dollar winners on the gold rush, 500 on the powers 5s , 500 on the new 5 dollar ticket, 500 on annother monopoly , 200 on a monopoly, 1000 on the 10 grand a week for life game it just kept going and going I’ve never seen a run of luck like that

About the only forms of gambling where a little bit of skill could come into play are card games like poker and black jack. Lottery tickets are pure luck and there's no skill involved.

Okay I cannot remember the name of the ticket right offhand but I bought it forgot about it it was a ten dollar ticket and me and my 3 kids were hungry as all get out I s rappedupa dollar and then it was the issue of getting to and back from the store and I was in tears my oldest said Mom, you got a lottery ticket I. Your glovebox not scratched.I was so upset like yeah should see if I can return the damn thing because we gonna be eating nasty noodles and walking home my youngest snatches it and scratches it off going come on tacos! It was a $500 winner like you have got to be kidding me! We had nothing in the cabinets out it BFE and I was about to rob a farm. At last like let's go before something else happens?! We had to walk to get gas for the car like across the parking lot lol but we shopped at $400 I stocked the house filled the tank and 2 gas cans and yep we made tacos was not gonna buy fast food plus steak tacos on a budget yummy. say you spend 20 dollars a week on tickets, 20 dollars a week for a year is 960 dollars, now if you buy some stocks (there are free sites these days) and wait until you get 5 dollars per dollar spent up thats a 5 times return on the original investment, that is 5760 (5 dollars profit per dollar spent then taken out/sold) then you put that in a savings acount with 5% quarterly interest you will have made 6912 the first year in savings (dont touch it) there are 5% savings accounts out there... now in year two it will be 7257.60 and in year 3 it will be 7620.48. now giving that you spent 960 per year on lottery in 3 years you would have spent 2880 giving a net profit of 4740.48. :D sorry if i annoyed you but i used to be into investing and gained a nice sum for the pay in a few times. I also like certain forms of math as much as i hate other forms!

Just learned a very valuable lesson that day and stopped buying tickets, every time I thought Hey buy a ticket I put what I would have spent away, or I would buy extra food or gas instead so if we hit a rough patch we had a stockpile and omg the hurricane that happen a year after that and hit by a snow storm it was one that seriously paid off. So don't cry I learned, my children learned even now if we think about buying a lottery ticket when it's huge we tuck it all away for birthday money or gifts.

I've never bought a scratch off ticket but my sister bought me 4 $5.00 tickets for my birthday. I won a free ticket on one $2.00 on another ticket and on the 3 and 4th tickets I won $50.00 each. So she spent $20.00 on my over $100.00 birthday present. I was so excited. My free ticket won nothing. Which is about how my luck goes. My sister does well at the casinos too.

My biggest win on tickets was when I bought 2 $5 tickets in Amarillo, Texas and one was $500 and the other was $5. Got to the casino in New Mexico and won $700 at the casino the same day. Biggest win ever was in Vegas. Put $60 in the machine. (It was a $3 max bet) and I won $2200 after pulling it one time for $3.

A year ago i went into a store and bought a $5 sevens ticket and the guy at the counter asked me how i was doing and i said great but i would be better if i win $500. He then told me if i did id have to buy him lunch and i left. i scrathed it and thought it was a no winner and put it aside but then i decided to check again. It was a $500 dollar winner and went right back and told the guy i told you man. He just said i was lucky. Kinda funny how i called the amount before winning.
Did you buy him lunch? That's expected you know. My husband works at a 7-ll that sells a lot of lottery tickets, and if you win big you're supposed to tip the clerk that sold you the ticket a little bit just to be nice. Most people do that.

Most scratch offs have a 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 chance to win. My approach is to buy that many of the same ticket. I'll buy 4 or 5 whatever the odds are. I almost always win something. Rarely a big payout. Also you can go on the lottery website in Michigan (not sure about other states), and view the number of prizes available and the number of winners sold. The benefit of checking the website ahead of time, is you don't waste money on a ticket that already payed out the big prizes.
Yes, I try to cover my odds when I can afford to. This was just a fun experiment to see what the outcome would be. It only takes one ticket so I wanted to see how that turned out. :) Thanks for watching.

You would be better to go down to the local pawn shop and purchase $240.00 in silver rounds and put them into your drawer and forget about them. Pretty soon you will have a whole damn drawer full of silver and then you can sell it when it goes above the spot price you paid and make out like a bandit. Best savings account you could ever dream of, "for real".
There's a lot of ways to make money. In this case, I gamble for free because the revenue I make from my channel allows me to pay for my tickets. So, there's the chance to make money and play the lottery which I enjoy. I doubt most people would enjoy a video of me buying silver from the pawn shop. I do this because I love it.

Yep I bought a book of Florida scratch tickets once. Spent $300 on a book of $5 scratch off's. I was thinking I should have at least a big winner somewhere but wound up only losing $15. So in this case the house always wins.

just go by the odds on the back like 1 in 4. if you don't win sue the lottery. so far get at least a $1 every time but not worth it.
Tami: Your statement just goes to show that you know nothing about probabilities (odds). Even with 1 in 4 chances - it is entirely possible to buy 100 tickets and not have a single winner. It is also possible to buy 10 tickets and have them all be winners.
There are so many tickets printed in a series that the purchase of multiple tickets are roughly independent events - an example is rolling a die. There is one chance in 6 of rolling a 1. But just because the first roll does not produce the desired 1 does not mean that your odds of rolling a 1 the next time is improved. It is still 1 in 6, even if you have previously rolled the die 20 times and never got a 1.

My best scratch off was trying to get my friend to stop buying tickets in hopes of winning. He kept going to the atm in the store I said let’s just split the next ticket and you need to stop he said no way I’m going to win you buy it yourself and I will be right back. Long story short he got out 60 more they were 30 dollar tickets I bought the next one he lost. My ticket won 500 dollars he was heart broken. Like I said he’s my friend I gave him half and he was a little ahead and learned a valuable lesson.

Lottery tickets = A tax on the poor. Statistically the overwhelming majority of buyers (players?) are lower income and the least able to afford it. It's gross and wrong.
Don't be a fool. Use that money and invest it in penny stocks, Acorn or something like that.

If you buy according to the odds you will most likely have a winner. For example, if the odds are 1:4.75, buy 5 tickets, you will usually have at least one winner. It might not be a big winner; but it will be a winner. So, if you want to encourage yourself to play the lottery, buy according to the odds, If you want to discourage yoursel about the lottery buy one ticket at a time.
"Investment" you said? It's called "Gambling". If you put that money in an IRA you would have over $6000 by retirement.

When I turned 18, I remember this one time when I had only 5 bucks and payday was 4 days away. I needed gas, but instead of getting 5 dollars worth, I got 4 and one scratcher. I won 30 bucks (still the most I won from one of these lol).

I know this is true, cause last year I scratched a 5 dollar ticket it said I had won $25, checked the letter code at the bottom it read "TWF", but when it was scanned to cash in, it kept coming up $50. The cashier and myself were in shock, cause the ticket definitely said $25. And I've had a losing ticket that was worth $10 But it was definitely a losing ticket.

I could spend that dollar on a soda, which i don't really NEED or a chance at 2 dollars, which I could really use....I would NEVER spend more than 5 bucks on a lotto ticket nor would I spend a pennyon them if I needed anythin....But a dollar spent on lotto tickets is a good as a dollar invested, only a slightly better chance of loss...No one pisses when I mention investing...

I'm not sure how other states do it, but Missouri Lottery proceeds go back to the schools. This helps special education programs, A+ scholarships, book funding and many more. So hey, thank a teacher by giving them scratchers!

A few years ago (in March 2016) I bought a TX Lottery $1 #Lucky Ticket and won the maximum amount of $3000. No joke. I had to drive to Dallas to cash in my ticket. After waiting about 30 minutes, the lady came back to the window after validating the ticket and said that she has never seen that high of a winner out of a $1 ticket. I had never played scratch offs before but my husband got a $5 Florida monopoly one out of a machine at Winn Dixie for his birthday and won $100, I figured that I might as well try it, every week I've gone back and gotten the same $5 monopoly ticket and even some $1 and $2 ones, never one a single dollar off of anything.

I’m similiar to this story as I win at the most 100 on tickets, my wife on the other hand in less than a one week period hit roughly 8 grand. 5000 on a $10 monopoly , back to back 500 dollar winners on the gold rush, 500 on the powers 5s , 500 on the new 5 dollar ticket, 500 on annother monopoly , 200 on a monopoly, 1000 on the 10 grand a week for life game it just kept going and going I’ve never seen a run of luck like that

Okay I cannot remember the name of the ticket right offhand but I bought it forgot about it it was a ten dollar ticket and me and my 3 kids were hungry as all get out I s rappedupa dollar and then it was the issue of getting to and back from the store and I was in tears my oldest said Mom, you got a lottery ticket I. Your glovebox not scratched.I was so upset like yeah should see if I can return the damn thing because we gonna be eating nasty noodles and walking home my youngest snatches it and scratches it off going come on tacos! It was a $500 winner like you have got to be kidding me! We had nothing in the cabinets out it BFE and I was about to rob a farm. At last like let's go before something else happens?!
We had to walk to get gas for the car like across the parking lot lol but we shopped at $400 I stocked the house filled the tank and 2 gas cans and yep we made tacos was not gonna buy fast food plus steak tacos on a budget yummy. That was my only win and now if fifteen years later with them grown I am like nope, I stick my not lottery money in a jar at home, I save it and if I ever need anything I have that because I know I am never going to be that lucky again unless one of my children scratches a ticket I just cannot see blowing money on a maybe you might win but No you aren't put it away and save it.
say you spend 20 dollars a week on tickets, 20 dollars a week for a year is 960 dollars, now if you buy some stocks (there are free sites these days) and wait until you get 5 dollars per dollar spent up thats a 5 times return on the original investment, that is 5760 (5 dollars profit per dollar spent then taken out/sold) then you put that in a savings acount with 5% quarterly interest you will have made 6912 the first year in savings (dont touch it) there are 5% savings accounts out there... now in year two it will be 7257.60 and in year 3 it will be 7620.48. now giving that you spent 960 per year on lottery in 3 years you would have spent 2880 giving a net profit of 4740.48. :D sorry if i annoyed you but i used to be into investing and gained a nice sum for the pay in a few times. I also like certain forms of math as much as i hate other forms!

Just learned a very valuable lesson that day and stopped buying tickets, every time I thought Hey buy a ticket I put what I would have spent away, or I would buy extra food or gas instead so if we hit a rough patch we had a stockpile and omg the hurricane that happen a year after that and hit by a snow storm it was one that seriously paid off. So don't cry I learned, my children learned even now if we think about buying a lottery ticket when it's huge we tuck it all away for birthday money or gifts.

I've never bought a scratch off ticket but my sister bought me 4 $5.00 tickets for my birthday. I won a free ticket on one $2.00 on another ticket and on the 3 and 4th tickets I won $50.00 each. So she spent $20.00 on my over $100.00 birthday present. I was so excited. My free ticket won nothing. Which is about how my luck goes. My sister does well at the casinos too.
