I followed Static-X Periphery and Meshuggah for paving so many new ways into this industry. I am GLAD you have been a new pioneer! You make music feel new again!
Very interesting project. The final song feels kinda like metal Death Grips (which if you haven’t done an Anything Can Be Metal video on them yet, you absolutely should)
Here's my opinion: Genre is a construct for comparison. Make the music you enjoy making, genre be damned. Very cool experimental project that you should definitely pursue, but only if you have the inspiration. Don't force it.
I love this song, I added it to my hyperrock, hyperpunk and hypermetal playlist on spotify. I think the direction in which the heavy music goes is all about genrebending maximalist approach combining the craziest amount of influences in the most avantgarde way. It's been hinted by a handful of bands before but in 2020s it got a massive kick in the butt with BMTH's amo and Post Human series. The best is yet to come.
As a french, i'm freaking proud to have Mirar as one of the new representatives of French metal! Moreover because in France metal is really not popular, it's getting better and better with newer generations but you really have no idea of how many french people discovered Gojira via the olympics. And having such great artists even though it's not popular in France makes me even prouder of them. Congrats guys!
France is home to Les Legions Noires, collective of black metal musicians who's music was just as influential to the black metal scene as Norway's. Huge contribution to metal iykyk
France is home to one of the best up and coming brutal deathcore bands, Xenotheory. If you haven't heard of them their second album just came out recently, Blissful Death. Absolutely worth a listen. I, Nimrod and Ozymandias are absolutely disgusting tracks.
8:21 fucking graced my earholes bro 😩😩 i cant even fathom the amount of pitch shifting the computers went through in the making of this Satan-imbedded masterpiece
So.Much.Yes. 🔥 wtaf Phonk is just popularised at the minute, you can't be mad at yourself when all that happened was you clocked onto a trend and you're such a creative person, all your projects are gonna have different crowds and levels of reception. At the end of all of that Nik, you are a creative genius and we the viewers/listeners love your work!
Nik is an íncredible artist. I feel like a lot of people forget that what he does is not easy at all and absolutely incredible how he can switch from genre to genre and create a banger song within 2 to 3 hours. That is absolutely insane!
Anyone else feel like the Chaos of Warhammer 40k now has an official theme/genre? Great stuff, Nik, although unsurprisingly. Thanks for not letting present definitions guide your music explorations. I look forward to more Deathphonk/Thonk in the future. It just blends the world's of trap, electronic, and metal so well. The perfect blend of all my favorite flavors.
I've been following the channel for a while but been obsessed with Thall for a decade and Mirar since inception. This track is easily collab of the year. Absolutely amazing blend. Leo is insane. Love it.
Deathphonk is by far my favorite genre these days. As I tell my boys at work, shit fucks 🤣Something bout Deep in the Willow or The Hammer into II is is the fuckingggg vibe
Sounds like something youd hear in the club scene of a vampire movie. Cool for a soundtrack type of song. Not something Id go out of my way to listen to on its own.
I was already thinking the intro sounded like fear factory at the start of test drive 6, or the way I remember it anyway. Then the blue viper gts popped up! Song was great, loved it and want more.
Their ep Mare is a fucking experience. When you have time, sit and listen from start to finish and just soak in it. It's hard to explain it really but my god it's good
I absolutely adore all of your Deathphonk stuff, and this track is deff one of my faves! I might be biased though, seeing as I have a cat named Samson lolol… but in all seriousness, this and the one you did with Aaron from ten56. both go so freaking hard. All the Deathphonk stuff is amazing, but it’s next-level magic once you start collabing with an artist you’re genuinely a big fan of yourself. It just unlocks something for you and we all respond to it!
im an industrial style producer from the terror speedcore nekro tekno scene. i was gonna call ya on this and point to similar music but its just not quite ...basically im saying you nailed it. this track is original and i like it alot. good job. cant wait to hear more oh and since mick left doom.. you should apply for the job maybe. this would rock as gaming sound track. js
The greatest breakthroughs in music happen when you create something incredibly new and different from all the rest, from Elvis to kiss to Nirvana to Whatever comes next, that’s how it starts I love that you guys are experimenting with new sounds, because that’s something I love doing too, my favorite kind of music is the kind that invents a new genre or stands out in some strangely unique way, I’m excited to hear more of it!
I can't express to you how much Mirar has impacted me this year, their music is incredible to me, and this track really helped to satisfy the craving that I've been having for more music from them. Thank you Nik, keep up the fun metal things \m/
I've been told I sound like a beast with my vocals. Currently trying to finish my recovery and plan on finding a band after, I can also write lyrics sooooo...
I've heard similar stuff, going back to the 90s. Even recently, just listening to random music online, I've heard metalstep , deathstep, electronic-metal, industrial-deathstep, ect basically words combined with metal and some electronic genres. Not really my thing, but to each their own.
Dude, people didn't realize back in 2013 or whatever... dubstep basically WAS metal. Almost every big dubstep producer came from the metal/core/whatever scene. Literally almost all of them. They were just playing modern metal without guitars. Take a song from like Zomboy in 2014 or whatever, tell me you couldn't just transpose it to guitars and it wouldn't go hard as fuck.
HOLY... JESUS... H... FUCKIN CHRIST thats a banger, instant save to my playlist, i want more of this, holy gahdamn. well played, very well played my friend
New genre, T H O N K.
phall
Or J U N K because Junts😂
We need some hype THONK edits right now 🤘🏻⚡
thonk
tonk
This needs more Junt junt junt- otherwise my adolecent child will not cry
6:51 The Mirar intro guitar noise sounds like car screeches, like drifting
They definitely knew what they were doing when putting cars spinning out at those parts of the video.
ty for giving mirar a larger platform, 'tis next level
I need a full album of this wtf
Yes !
I recommend the EP mere in that case because the band mirar who collaborated on this project made that and it’s awesome.
Termina is my favourite band atm :(. I hope you continue to get the support for it. You and Andy are magic.
I followed Static-X Periphery and Meshuggah for paving so many new ways into this industry. I am GLAD you have been a new pioneer! You make music feel new again!
I also got the industrial vibe
You forgot Fear Factory 😂
Very interesting project. The final song feels kinda like metal Death Grips (which if you haven’t done an Anything Can Be Metal video on them yet, you absolutely should)
Totally second this.
There is a metal cover of death grips by bodyprison and it goes hard
genius suggestion. Deathgrips are a PERFECT choice for that series!
Literally no love riff put on 7 string sounds metal as hell
Yeah I was thinking the exact same thing, sounds a lot like Death Grips but waaayy heavier.
Here's my opinion: Genre is a construct for comparison. Make the music you enjoy making, genre be damned. Very cool experimental project that you should definitely pursue, but only if you have the inspiration. Don't force it.

where can i find those playlists?
Static-X if they tuned in Drop Omega
Or FF 😅

C’est qui Mirar ?
Lotta good black metal from france. Alcest, Deathspell Omega etc
Bro at least you have Igorrr
France is home to one of the best up and coming brutal deathcore bands, Xenotheory. If you haven't heard of them their second album just came out recently, Blissful Death. Absolutely worth a listen. I, Nimrod and Ozymandias are absolutely disgusting tracks.

How😮 this shit is fuckin sick. That’s what’s dope about your channel you dont just play music you create insane stuff😂 that production is sooo good
So.Much.Yes. 🔥 wtaf

Bro you need to get Kacy to sing/scream on your jams outside of the mansion!!! That “Theywind” song was epic 🤘🤘

I fucking love MIRAR! Please do more collabs with Mirar, nik 🙏
I've been following the channel for a while but been obsessed with Thall for a decade and Mirar since inception.

Deathphonk is by far my favorite genre these days. As I tell my boys at work, shit fucks 🤣Something bout Deep in the Willow or The Hammer into II is is the fuckingggg vibe
Holy shit this is literally the most brains out crazy song i've ever heard, this kind of sound could be the next thing
At the very least, it's quite near the endgame of the current thing lol
Sounds like something youd hear in the club scene of a vampire movie. Cool for a soundtrack type of song. Not something Id go out of my way to listen to on its own.
Amazing song! Btw Nik, you need to do a Anaal Nathrakh song now when Mick is busy with phonk. :)
"Rikkkkkyyyyyyyyy"
That was sick af on M.M
Bro it went so hard 😂
Hooooooly shit this is fucking heavy. Mare was my album of the year and this track is getting added to the playlist too, holy shit this is nice.
I hope Nik finds Deathstep soon
Well hello, fellow deathstep listener
i hope he finds out about minatory and tearout too
Hasn’t he reacted to Jiluka before?
@AndrewDembouski oh jiluka is not a part of the deathstep category
@ what the heck are they then
I was already thinking the intro sounded like fear factory at the start of test drive 6, or the way I remember it anyway. Then the blue viper gts popped up! Song was great, loved it and want more.
Wonder what ozzy would think seeing where metal has gone? This track is just funnily heavy. Love it!
We love Deathphonk because it’s different and viby and the whole breakdowns are just amazing and fun! I don’t know how to describe it 🤣🤣keep it up!
OMG, this is brutal ! I want to moshpit/dance on this sh*t until I don't feel my limbs anymore ! Thank you very much bro, it made my night ! 🤘🤘
So cool that you're able to do/make these creative things with a wide range of talented people. 🔥
Love mirar, mare is one of the greatest pieces of music i have ever heard
Man, I'd love tp learn Miriar's style of playing.
That was utterly wild! Like holy hell that was BRUTAL! I need to check out Mirar more.
Their ep Mare is a fucking experience. When you have time, sit and listen from start to finish and just soak in it. It's hard to explain it really but my god it's good
This gave my knees goosebumps. It's like drifting through Hell with Doomguy riding shotty.

Nick is creating "post genre metal."
When I heard the Mirar EP I almost cried, not even sure why couldn't pinpoint it, but it moved me!
Nik + Mirar= Insanity next level.
im an industrial style producer from the terror speedcore nekro tekno scene. i was gonna call ya on this and point to similar music but its just not quite ...basically im saying you nailed it. this track is original and i like it alot. good job. cant wait to hear more oh and since mick left doom.. you should apply for the job maybe. this would rock as gaming sound track. js
One more time eating Nik Nocturnal and watching launch. Thanks Nic.

Sounds like Static X with drop tunes. 🤘
PLEASE MAKE A SONG WITH LANDON TEWERS
YES
Never expected to see Landon Tewers name dropped on niks channel, would be a dope collab!
@ I mean he interviewed him once lol
@CarterHigginsMusic I didn't know that, I'll check it out for sure. ^.^
@@AubreyNoelleqtx this is a generic pop metalcore channel, why would be the vocalist of the most generic metalcore band not be mentioned here lol
More Deathphonk x Mirar !
I can't express to you how much Mirar has impacted me this year, their music is incredible to me, and this track really helped to satisfy the craving that I've been having for more music from them. Thank you Nik, keep up the fun metal things \m/
dude this goes so hard. one of the best things I've heard this year by far
This is the next step, right here
Absolutely incredible
Mirar - Mare 2
when?
Two days ago.
End result is awesome! I am also pretty touched by the video to the music!
Mirar meets Phonk
The sounds that caused the gates of hell to break open...
I love it
I fucken love Mirar, also the Thonk Skyrim Speech increase had me dying 😂
Yeah man, I won’t y’all to do more of that. That was amazing phenomenal NIK
I can't decide which is craziest, that wild music or the insane visuals, but YES, do MORE!
amazing work dude, big ups
idk man at this point im waiting for mirar x larcenia roe. thats like game over heavy
a whole album collab with mirar and nik would go crazy
I've been told I sound like a beast with my vocals. Currently trying to finish my recovery and plan on finding a band after, I can also write lyrics sooooo...
I missed these videos you make cool songs with random artists thanks for continuing to make fun metal things.
I honestly think Deathphonk is my favourite side project you have done
Im glad that Dubsteps influnce in Mirar is being recognized
I've heard similar stuff, going back to the 90s. Even recently, just listening to random music online, I've heard metalstep , deathstep, electronic-metal, industrial-deathstep, ect basically words combined with metal and some electronic genres. Not really my thing, but to each their own.
thall phok - Thonk
Bro, this was, INSANE, I'm uncomfortable, but in the best way!
I think next step would be taking witch house ( or whatever genre sadwrist, where swans will weep ect are) and adding thalls to that
TOTAL BANGER! Playing Cyberpunk 2077 and listening to this - I was vibing A LOT!
This goes hard and would be an amazing soundtrack for retro style shooter videogame!
I feel like ive heard this before with the dark wave industrial/ shock rock phase. The guitars are just tuned lower. The kids are rediscovering 2005
8:55 my coworker in my office looks at me and she says "oof thats the sound you hear when the CBD Hits"
NikNocnth! Love this tune. We want more!
it sounds my computer that is freezing and me who is smashing the keyboard/desk really loud. Love it!
This is what i imagine what may have happened with the evolution of devil disco. It just seems like the natural progression imo. Super sick
Sounds like static X FF… Awesome 🖤🤘
You should contact also the Frontierer guys, if you had them to the project, it could be the wildest electro-metal genre ever done...
Nik featuring mirar definitely need more of it for sure
When I first heard this song, I was driving and a thunderstorm on the horizon started. It's a beautiful thing.
Madeleine, by mirar is the closest sound I could use to explain what my brain is doing when anxiety overwhelms me.
Like John Browne on Meth lol love it 😎🍻💯 also with a touch of Humanity's Last Breath
Any Mirar Is Good Mirar
insane oldschool NFS Vibes love it!!!!!!!!
I can imagine this in a Need for Speed game, like I'm literally going 250mph against the final boss rn
Please make an interview with Mirar. I really want to know how they do stuff like this (unless they're actually aliens).
I think this song will save lives at my workplace xD It is going straight to my playlist that saves me from stupid. Amazing track! 🖤🖤🖤
So what do you want your metal to sound like?
*YES*
This sounds like a song you would hear in a older 2000s need for speed game! I like it!
whoever made the video edit god tier
The visuals are insane
Collab with Carpenter Brut, Perturbator or Dance with the Dead would be cool :)
More deathponk please, keep pushing the limits and experimenting.
Wait why do I actually like this so much. It's an absolute banger!!
WTF is this? I need it right now! So f**ng awesome I can't sleep. Album pls!!!
HOLY... JESUS... H... FUCKIN CHRIST
thats a banger, instant save to my playlist, i want more of this, holy gahdamn. well played, very well played my friend
finally, bonk metal
bro did the awards and now his hair is going silver
Guitar effects for the Song. What were they? Can't capture that Mirar guitar sound...
mirar goated
You should do a phonk + metal song with CRAZY vocals
