Update: As of patch he just spawns on the ledge and kills you. my solution: There is another spot down the ledge where a small enemy is- Go past him and drop down again on another ledge- you can cheese the reaper with spells. The soulflay did not work at all.
I can confirm this update from @Rummy370 still works
For PC player:
- dont update Oct 25 patch
- dont use soulflay on him, just stand there wait for him to fall, otherwise he might spawn right under your character
Does he actually fall with the latest patch, I've been standing there like half an hour and the guy just wouldn't fall
Great video worked a treat little tip if using a bow to target him walk along plank going stair side he goes back up top easier to shoot than him moving around down bottom

(For ps5 users) when he spawn u gotta be down, after he follows u u go on the plank, after u get him down and u kill him with 1 shot just made it rn
You can do this at the windmill jus sit at top of latter and move down when he’s at the top .. I’m on series x and did this last nite got all Pieta stuff ; )

Not sure if it patch cause I can't seem to get it to work and when I managed to try to grab the reaper it just dodge or go underground as if it knew what I was doing did the patch change the AI?
So red reaper starts diminishing in vigor return the more time you kill him. I only currently get 3000 vigor now.

I killed him and got the eye of Marco the axe and I have it equipped and my eyes are not glowing red and enemies do not fear me in umbral?
I just did this on PS5. Totally works!
I think they patched the fall damage, the place at the fen where I farm him he no longer takes damage when he falls
I love how I killed him legit with my weapons and it didn't drop the eye for me I was so pissed

I’m genuinely curious how anyone can have fun doing pvp in games like this. When most people are just trying to play the game and don’t even bother with PvP. Do the kills feel good when fight someone who is just trying to play through the story?
I had an hour played and got invaded buy a NG+ and whooped him lol I had to send a message talking sht😂
On PS5 after the patch I couldn’t get him to appear long enough to kill him from above. Just killed him on the ground with him. Got the eye.
this wouldnt work for me tonight. my soul flay wouldnt do anything to him and i was only like 10 feet away from him trying this.
Still works on ps5. Just got it!
The downside about killing the Red Reaper, After you kill him he shows up much faster then before it's a trade I think

Ya when you soul fly him he teleports right on you this doesn’t work…
Make sure to equip it on the FIRST SOCKET cuz you won’t get the effect. I didn’t know about this until I watch this video. I thought my game was glitched but I had it on the wrong whole 😉 all this time.

Most of these Strategies are patched, But I found out the easiest way to kill the Red Reaper is, After beating the game The first Red Reaper appreance he's at his weakest, I defeated him easily with the Duel Reaper swords.
I did this area and never had a reaper spwan. ?

Just as I killed the light reaper I see this video 🤨 Watever man
This has been patched. My method is just fighting the Reaper in Pieta's arena. Alot of space, enemies that spawn in can be killed swiftly. The arena gives you so much space to move around and get health from brimstones. After hours of trying this gained me six straight kills without barely trying. Kill SR quit the game and most times he will pop right back up after you load the game ( saves you from having to wait for him to reappear.)

regrettably they just put out a patch making him immune to fall damage and soulflaying

glad i turn off all automatic updates on my ps5 and turn off my wifi but i will be getting the physical game at some point at the moment am just doing the AFK farm gonna max my stats and stock up on umbral scourings for cash to buy supplies it is sad that the developers spend so much time removing fun glitches and trick when on PC people can just simply download a trainer and instantly have access to everything at the start of the game maximum stats maximum xp maximum levels maximum weapons anything depending on what's been added to the trainer and there are always new ones coming out

ya The Scarlett Shadow now does not die from fall damage, is immune to soulflay, and also detects the player's position better when the player moves out of reach.@@bussyburper

Yeah PS5 this doesnt work at all, the Reaper takes 0 damage from the fall and also jumps down onto the rafters. Guessing you aint got the latest update.
It should give you 20k for fighting him its not worth farming him

Honestly, you kinda don't deserve to know it. You can't listen a few minutes in, lol.
Even my shorter video had people asking when it's a short video explaining it.
Apply the Eye of Marco the Axe in your PRIMARY SOCKET on your lamp. (That's the FIRST socket)
You get the eye from killing the red specter in umbral when you stay until the eye reaches red (under your vigor count)
