I hate it with a passion with the follow unfollow. It's more awkward when I meet them in person. Call it weird but it was refreshing you shared this!

    Hey Millie,
so I've been following your content on TH-cam for a few months now and I'm just writing this comment right here to say THANK YOU. There are a few things that I absolutely love about your videos:
    1. They are neat and structured. Many TH-camrs just beat around the bush for too long, which makes it super hard to follow. Considering you structuring your videos in several parts and verbally sticking to the most important things makes it super comfortable to listen to you. Thank you for this.
    2. The effectiveness of what you're saying. I'm running an NCT imagine account and even though this niche is barely comparable to other niches your tips yet help me out immensely. Thank you for this.
    3. Your personality. I absolutely love how kind and open minded you are all the time, thank you so much for being like this. It gives ME as your audience the feeling that I can achieve just as much as you can. Thank you for this.
I hope you see this comment and I hope you'll take it to heart. I love you
sending it again just to remind you of this 💕

Great point about hiding your posts / reels in stories. I was doing that up until recently, when I realized that I usually skip over others' posts when they do that. I figured if I couldn't bother putting in the effort to click, then my viewers are probably just as annoyed with me doing that. Thanks for confirming my feeling! haha Thanks for the helpful tips!

OMG, you just helped me so damn much... I m digital art creator and i m posting every day, cause i love what i do and i have time for it, and there is soooo many people trying to push me into trheir logic of not positing every day. Thank you, thank you, thank you, milion times!

  • @thebuzzyoilbee8229
    @thebuzzyoilbee8229 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

One thing that shocked me was that when a reel is viewed in your story without being clicked on, that you get those views. I wish there was a way for them to like it from the story without having to click on it and then find the like button.

The follow-unfollow and covering your posts in stories annoy the heck out of me. The former is hurtful as well. There's a particular bunch of people that I know followed me and then unfollowed, and I initially thought it was instagram problem, or some bot messing up. But getting followed and unfollowed by someone three times, is two times too many.
I'm glad there are content creators out here trying to bust instagram myths out.

Your tip about hiding new posts reminded me of something: A content marketer I follow (Camille Trent) said recently something like, "Stop burying the value, put the most important information up front" because how else do you expect to build trust with someone new if you're not willing to just tell them what's up? Also, if the nugget of knowledge you're sharing turns out to not be relevant to the viewer, you've just wasted their time. Great tips, Millie!

Loved all your tips. I haven’t done any of it really except for using frames for photos which I stopped a few weeks ago because I saw that these were the only posts that didn’t do very well.
I don’t share my posts and reels on my stories anymore at all because they hijack my story views. That wasn’t always the case but recently the difference is huge. Since I stopped I haven’t seen any difference on my feed and Reel engagement. I’ve literally never seen anyone talking about this so it could just be me lol 😆

  • @vernonscloset

That last method actually still works. (At lest in fashion) As long as your content has to do with the account your tagging and isn’t random. Those larger accounts repost and gives great exposure.

Okay so (yes I am one to watch a video several times) I have some follow-up questions that I am hoping you can answer.
    1. What would you recommend about how long a post should be when writing it out without it getting overwhelming or boring to read?
    2. I know you said no hashtags in stories, but what does that look like for posts?
    3. With reels being in stories, would you recommend taking our profile off of private and/or as a business page?
How do I get more engagement for my journaling club/business!

I really appreciated this video. Some of those things I’ve never heard of 🤦🏽‍♀️.
The idea that IG is becoming more authentic is great news, 😃 tbh IG terrifies me. I’ve just started making videos on TH-cam because I’m more comfortable here.
Also the decision to let go of posting everyday “hooray” I’m not good at that and the pressure feels fake to me so I haven’t done it. My growth is slooooooow but I believe it’s authentic and I’m not willing to sell my soul to become IG popular…that would be a betrayal of everything I am about and my brand.
Anyways I wanted to say in my opinion your video was informative and interesting I enjoyed it, you’re good at what you do.
    Cheers

I had to chuckle a little once when someone commented on one of my ig posts with a bunch of emojis and basically said I had an amazing portfolio (I personally think it's still a major work in progress but that's beside the point) and to please follow them and that was literally the only "interaction" I had with them. For someone who said they liked what I do, one would think they would provide some evidence to back up their words. Maybe like a post or two since then. At the very least like the post where you claimed I had such an "amazing" portfolio. nope

The tagging accts - I think you can change in settings whether or not people have to submit a request first or whether it automatically gets posted. There are many "moodboard" and inspiration accounts that keep that feature completely public. I suspect more individuals who in some sense are personally tied to their brand or account would not have this be the case and would take requests like you.

But, what if u want to post a saved photo from either IG story mode or Snapchat, is there a way to make that into a portrait dimension (1080x1350) without loosing real estate per say? Since it is bigger in length? Hopefully, you understand what I mean.

Oooh Krisp sounds amazing! I hope creators use it… I don’t know what’s more annoying, the noise or creators complaining about the noise like the world revolves around them making a video 😬

I literally had no idea about the return key update. I thought people were still using the spacing websites like you mentioned. Gonna update my posts now that know this. Thank you so much!

Not posting every day is a good one to stop. I have never been one to post daily and I have unfollowed people who overpost, including public figures and celebs. It's annoying to see a dozen posts from one person on a daily basis because I want to see posts from other people I follow.

the hashtag strategy when posting stories.. does the same apply with regular posts? Is it unnecessary to add as many hashtags as you can to a post so that it will be seen?

I’m new to Instagram and learned a lot from your educational video. What does everyone think of the puzzle posts? I think it looks cool but I’m thinking it’s busy work.
