    JUST use white vinegar or citric acid. It's the acid that dissolves limescale. No point neutralising it with an alkali.

    Years ago.I filled my kettle right up.with water and bicarbonate, then boiled it 🤪
    The lid flew open and the volcano effect happened .Big mess and a bit scary .Haven't had the nerve to do it again .So I bought a water filter and it's a bit better inside kettle .🙂

    You could just take the filter off and put it inside the kettle so it does it altogether.

    I like it, regardless that was not clear.. (?)
    Why don't you use brita filter water, for your drinking and cooking and, take the benefits.. of tap water to the foods and supplements, that you can take naturally!?
    Thank you for the video, though. ♥️

      Brita filtered water doesn't prevent scale from building up. I know from experience.

    I would never put vinegar into my kettle THEN boil it, I boil almost a full kettle of water, THEN add the vinegar and leave it for a few hours, ideally overnight. I put my filter in it too, just remove it and drop it into the kettle. decant into a jug the next day and use that in toilet cistern or taps..... make it do double duty if you can.

    Neutralising the acid with bicarbonate before adding to the kettle does not make sense.

    We don’t use “cup” as a measure in this country. That’s only the yanks. And their cup is the wrong size as well. So that’s why we don’t use it.

    Thanx for telling me before hand that adding the bicarb to the vinegar would fizz up every where my kitchen is a right mess & stinks of vinegar! I’m not happy at all

      Coke a cola works well to descale the inside of your kettle. Just pour enough inside the kettle to cover the element etc then boil, repeat by boiling a few times then leave for 1/2 hour then rinse out with water. Can use a sponge to clean the inside to help remove any stubborn limescale when cool. Coke a cola also works well for cleaning the inside of your toilet bowl.... 🍪pocket uk.

    Why didn't you show us the kettle with the limescale in it before you cleaned? Was it a new kettle or not bad? Show us the limescale first!

  • @annenorth8553
    @annenorth8553 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You didnt really show us the inside after cleaning. So we just had to take your word that it worked. It worked when I did it, but then I am not on TH-cam showing others how to. LOL

      I was also wondering why her kettle was in such a bad state, unbelievable amount of limescale inside a kettle that I've ever seen. Seriously you would never use a kettle in such a state like that would you?
