You have to be pretty insecure with yourself if you are complaining about imaginary deaths. This is a game and it shows the effects of the programming of the game. They could be Jedi vs Sith, gorillas vs snake people, or children vs adults. It is all pretend and super fun to watch.

No marines, as was said. The US marines were in the pacific theater fighting from Island to Island. WWII is the origin of superpower as a term for countries, meaning that you can fight two wars simoultaneously in two different theaters that are not connected. This is a reference to both the USSR and the USA fighting on both sides at the same time.
The USSR only fought in Europe against Germany. Only the Allied Army including many countries like Australia, Canada, Britain, and The American Army fought both hemispheres at once.
Who has issues with simulating D-day? TBH that is a load of nonsense. We're playing games like Bannerlord where huge 1000 v 1000 battles are simulated, way more cruel than any battle in WW2. Are these people butthurt by that too? Limiting people their thoughts is a worrying sign of where we are headed.
Dang! Imagine if the AC-130 had working targeting systems. Also it could be interesting to consider simulating if A-10 Warthogs could take out some LSTs before they can unload the Higgin's Crafts. And then maybe later have other A-10s attack some of the first wave landing crafts, and then another group of A-10s attack the landed troops. (But this would require the simulation to take into account the destruction of each LST having an affect on the number of Higgin's Crafts to be spawned, and also make the number of infantry to be spawned to be dependent on the number of landing crafts that are able to reach the beach)

There were 17,000 Royal Marines involved in the D-day landings and there were some USMC contingents aboard the ships. However, the expeditionary role that the USMC played in the Pacific was mainly given to US Army Rangers in Europe.
Really need the Fleet with their AA batteries for this one. My thinking would be by this point with the sheer amount of Radar aimed guns the aircraft would not have lasted long.

It is hard for me to believe that the grand children if those who actually stormed the beaches are now complaining about a GAME doing a NOT FOR REAL simulation without getting their feelings hurt and complaining and whining about it. I would say it was a success. Also I'm from the US and personally I don't find the D-Day videos at all offensive but that's just me. If the server would have been able to handle the correct number of defense towers your run would have done enough damage for a win

I kind if want to see this with a large flight of Viggens with BK-90s now. TOT with each Viggen having individual target waypoints for the weapons along the beach.

the orbital strafing was more a thing with the ac 47 , the ac130 was the more well thought out version that was intended to run up and down the hochimin trail ( spelled it one word because no kidding theres an h word according to yt ) at night hitting convoys so yeah absolutely it can do a 5 mile gun run
Wow! You should do that again with Specter firing from the seaward side. The Herky bird would have demolished the infantry. As it went, the Herky’s rounds either hit the top of the hill or went over the heads of the infantry, landing in the water. The beach would act as a backstop for the rounds if done from the seaward side. The A-10’s did better because they fired directly from above the beach where the infantry had no cover. I know you said you wouldn’t do the D day landing anymore but that would be awesome if you could redo it and see what side.
Anyway you fine gentleman and ladies could set up The battle of Midway??? Maybe swap modern carrier groups or plane types……. Do what y’all do best. Love the channel!!!
This scenario lacks hundreds of enemy P-51's, P-47's and Spitfires as well as the AAA of 2 battleships, 3 cruisers, 13 destroyers and 1000 other naval vessels. I get that to be 121 heavy AA-guns (3" to 5.25"), 149x40mm-guns and 172x20mm guns, just for the naval gunfire support force.
Actually that was Sword Beach and those were royal Marines so, Cap was right at least on this one Maybe, to stay on the theme of offending everyone, you can try to simulate the north koreans subs infiltrating comandos on south Korea, wich plane will spot the snorkels or zodiak boats, and neutralizing them first cheers guys

Not y'all's fault, but the AC-130 would be shot down by the destroyers, cruisers, and battleships escorting the landing fleet. It's a large, lumbering target for their dual purpose armament, some of which had radar-fused shells. Some of the A-10s may survive, but they aren't much faster than what the gunner crews would have been trained for. The F-16s and B-52s from the previous videos have a better chance of slowing or stopping the landing, but the AC-130 and A-10s are the poorest candidates for the job since the fleet itself could readily counter their strafing run.

Hey Capt,.. on D-day the Germans used MG34s and MG42s just some FYI... I had some friends back in the 80's in Fla, that were at Normandy Bch, and they said that some of the guys just hearing the MG42 made them hit the dirt out of reflexes...lol and I can't blame them .. beast of a gun for it's time...
The beach installations also had older MG08s, they were perfectly good MGs and since they sat in bunkers there was no need for mobility, in fact in those situations water cooled guns would actually preform better, as they had more stamina even if the rate of fire was lower.
@@zsavage1820 it worked OK, but Germany was vastly overstretched and in a bunker, a water-cooled machine gun is superior in a defensive position where mobility isn't an issue. And Germany didn't have enough MG42s or MG43s to supply the entire Atlantic Wall, so the Mobile units got the air-cooled and the fixed defensive positions (at least some of them) got the older stuff. A machine guns is a machine gun. And the MG08 isn't very different from an Vickers what the British schlept along wherever they went.

My grandfather was an American pilot that deserted with his AC 130 to Germany and was involved in this fight against the allies during D-Day.

We did that to begin with, but after several test runs, this actually works better because the whole beach curves around this way.

Also, if you want to strafe with the AC-130 you have to fly east to west on the beach ¾ of a mile off set.
