"Poetism"? mf you mean poetry?
Making Drake Judas, the apostle who betrayed Jesus, is such a perfect and fitting touch for the thumbnail
I closed my eyes at 2:50 like he asked. Didn't understand much of the rest.

j cole diss is diabolical
"He's truly worst thirst with enough rhymes to spread throughout the boundless universes"
MF DOOM - Rhinestone cowboy
The Travis Scott pictures bit was soooo funny dude
I rate this video 10/10, the delivery and smooth flow is amazing, not only that - the production is top tier, the vocals are simply amazing and the message is deep, thought-provoking even.
J Cole hate will not be tolerated
Got this in my recs randomly, banger video
Another rly good album to start with is 2014 Forest Hill drives. It has 0 skips and tells a rly good story about the struggles and ups of j Coles childhood 👍🏿
The J Cole disrespect tho
The beef is blinding niggas of cole's greatness
"if you was my sister, then I'll kiss you"
@Akachi_ that is the only line you niggas criticise
It is like the only line he has ever dropped
@Mahmoud4019... Damn, didn't know "ge" Dissapeared from the rap game after dropping that one line
This really is one of the greatest recommendations youtube ever gave me. Great video and hope to see more from you.
Honestly one of the best videos ever on this platform gg man
yt really pushin the good content today just got hawk tuah, hawk tuahs and beginners guide to hiphop in my fyp
Great video, however I didn't expect Ye not to be mentioned more given that, from the early 2000s, he specifically set the stage for most of the genre blends you discuss.
pleeeaaase continue this type of content it was so entertaining to watch

Great informed comment as always, keep up the good work!

I love that the video doesn't have background music. It makes me to appreciate and focus on what you're saying and it feels like you're guiding me for real. Pretty natural.
Loved the pacing and structure of the video…. The analogies used were amazing as well …going good with the subtle jokes… keep going i think uve immense potential🙌

great video, love this style of content
To Pimp a Butterly is a HipHop +Funk masterpiece
keep doing vids like this and youll blow up, i know it
I feel like even a beginners guide would have gone way deeper honestly, but I encourage you to keep trying, even if I am critical of some of your research and how you choose you represent it
Low end theory is what got me. They had said it was to represent how black people are always on the lower end of society
this was great! I loved it, need more of this❤
I only just realised you have under 300 subs. This video was incredible. The lore was fire 10/10 creator
1:40 LMAOOO never heard mc ride’s talking voice

Once in a couple months a random video occurs on my Yt Explore page which introduces me with its fine content to a new great channel and I’m absolutely flashed - this is one of those videos
That new kanye snippet tho 🔥 🔥 🔥

Not Drake being Judas on the thumbnail. 😭
Yt recomending the best, this is cool af
Mythical fyp pull.
I find it hard to understand albums without it being spelled out to me sometimes. This video was amazing. Maybe you could do a video on explaining on how to deconstruct and understand music. In your style.
Fire fire video
Hope it gets blessed by the algorithm.
mythical fyp pull
Damm this is a good video keep it up
I love the video, the only problem is I wish it was longer and that’s a compliment
The Almighty Algorithm is doing real work in 2025 i see. Good video.
I am getting into rap and this video is the perfect starter pack🏆
I'm enjoying this, I'm seriously letting you know 😂

He missed the old Kanye

Beginner's guide to hip hop: listen to one album from each year. I give you an example list for '85-'99:
1985: LL Cool J - Radio
1986: Beastie Boys - Licensed to Ill
1987: Eric B. & Rakim - Paid In Full
1988: Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back
1989: De La Soul - 3 Feet High And Rising
1990: A Tribe Called Quest - People's Instinctive Travels And The Paths Of Rhythm
1991: Ice Cube - Death Certificate
1992: Dr. Dre - The Chronic
1993: Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
1994: Nas - Illmatic
1995: Mobb Deep - The Infamous
1996: Tupac - All Eyez On Me
1997: Biggie - Life After Death
1998: DMX - It's Dark And Hell Is Hot
1999: Eminem - The Slim Shady LP
There are better albums for some years but I think those are the most beginner friendly to listen to.
The video is great and all, but the bias against Cole for one out of context line is straight up crazy. Go listen to the mans work then judge him
The forever story is so slept on
2:26 oh my gammit weezer pinkerton
Tbh having a Mexican homie named Chinese Mike makes a lot of sense
Instantly subscribed! W YT recommendation!
"Aganbadenroe" is peak lyricsism
0:49 deciding to use this as reference is actually sad because
1. you can kiss someone non romantically anywhere asides the lips.
2. Took a line so out of context, just picked half of a bar of a deep and meaningful verse for agenda.
But yeah .. shock value is cool
I listen and know lyrics to popular rap songs here and there but rap albums and artists themselves hasn’t been a core part of my true listening sessions, (I really only fw $uicideboy$). I love a vast variety of r&b, alternative, electronic, and pop albums, and hip-hop adjacent albums, but when I have tried to introduce myself to true rap albums, there’s only been three I’ve listened to in full, passively though, Stankonia by OutKast, TPAB by Kendrick Lamar, and Igor by Tyler the creator. Tyler the creator seems the most adjacent to my taste bc of the pop, r&b, and alternative influence, aesthetics, and his unique public personas. I can’t for the life of me get into playboy carti type rap though…. But yea Imma start with Tyler the creator, I relate to the themes of being a more masculine bisexual guy too. Imma also get into Mfdoom, his aesthetic, persona, and samples captivate me.
Would also highly reccomend Travis Scott and Thundercat (though Thundercat is not rap)
Oooh I love you for mentioning ODB

Kendrick being Jesus and Tyler being Paul is perfect 😭🔥
chipmunk soul rap with kanye and cloud rap with rocky also deserved mentions as pioneers

Easy to understand video and good recommendations for understanding hip-hop through certain rap albums. Does need some music tho, or some sfx just make the video overall more entertaining. Gud jub. 👍
