- The Allahabad High Court acquitted Nupur and Rajesh Talwar of the charges of killing their daughter Aarushi and house help Hemraj.
The couple had been serving their sentence in the Ghaziabad jail. They will finally walk out of the jail after having spent four years in it. The Quint interviewed Nupur’s parents, Retired Captain BG Chitnis and his wife Lata Chitnis. The grandparents expressing their joy at the court’s verdict declared, “truth has finally prevailed”.

Parents lost everything
Well, many well known cases show that parents can very easily kill their own children. "Lost four years of their lives"... As if they would have gone for vacations and attended parties and been very happy after their daughter had been murdered. Poor Aarushi, the family members almost forgot to mention her! Benefit of Doubt and Proven Innocent are NOT the same thing. HAPPY DIWALI 🙄🙄🙄

It makes a lot of sense to think that Hemraj was the primary target and Aarushi just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I have always felt bewildered that they did not probe his life and activities more. The chances of him being caught up in something nefarious are far higher than that of a 13 year old schoolgirl whose movements and daily activities were all mostly accounted for. its probably something as simple as that. Hemraj was involved with some shady people and owed them money (hence why he wasn’t sending money to his wife), his debts got out of hand and his creditors killed him, Aarushi saw them when she got up to drink water or something and she was collateral damage. The parents were spared because they were asleep in a locked room and saw nothing. Plus two adults would have put up more of a fight against a lone killer compared to a child so the killer didn’t want to take that chance.
The arguments against the parents doesn’t make any sense to me. “Many parents kill their children” - sure they do but that doesn’t automatically mean the Talwars killed theirs. Causation is not correlation. “Aarushi was having an affair with Hemraj and Rajesh killed them both in rage” - FFS. First of all, like someone else said, Aarushi could not be having an “affair” with him. She was 13 for gods sake. If anything, it would be child molestation. Characterising it as an affair is horrible.

India is suffering by British culture. Society also give importance to money, cinema culture. Children must not stay separate room at night. Parents should control their feelings for children's welfare. Children must sleep with parents only. More girls life spoiled by Porrukiees because of privacy for small girl in the family. They didn't know about value of family, relatives, culture, family respect, caste, law, future life, safety,........

100% agreed. No mobile phones no internet and no separate room until the child reaches certain age. and aarushi had all these things in 2008 ? damn. My father bought his first mobile phone in 2005 and back then mobile phone was a luxury. Giving it to a 13 year old girl is like impossible thing.
