I feel like the comedy in both fma and brotherhood just comes across better, and in the context of where fma takes place, it would just make sense if they spoke english and at the very least, not speak japanese.
The problem I have with fmab dub is that, I just didn't want to mess with perfection. The sub is perfect, the engrish is fine cause it's just the names. I tried rewatching in dub but I just couldn't. I had the thought that "well I might as well re-watch it subbed again". Basically I'd say only watch fmab dub if you like watching dubs, cause the Japanese cast is STACKED and pretty much perfect.
I tried watching baccano sub first and didn't even get through the 2nd episode. i went back and checked out the dub and binged the entire series in a day or 2.
5:25 TRUUUUUUUEE!! Also, Joey is a fluent Japanese speaker, so he knows things when he watches a show that'll completely fly over our heads when we're just reading subtitles.
The dub is so easily better. All of the VAs are amazing and having the classic NY gangster accent adds so much to some of the characters. Plus characters like firo, ladd, luck, jacuzzi, etc sound way better and fit more in dub
Baccano, Black Lagoon, Cowboy Bebop, and PSG are probably the only anime I would definitely say watch the dub over the sub. It's a short list reserved for good dubs
Those are not bad choices and for me there’s only four or five dubs I refuse to watch in Japanese, Baccano, Black Lagoon, Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Hellsing Ultimate (which is my favorite dub). Most other dubs, I’m like I can watch either English or Japanese and not have a problem
If I have the option I will usually watch a series dubbed simply because it allows me to focus my attention on the animation and I am able to pick out more subtleties in a voice actor's work when it is spoken in my native language. With that said I have no problem with subs.
the FMA series is my go to for the best dub example I watched the 2003 version in both sub and dub and i loved both equally but then Brotherhood came out, and i watched it, and I kept hearing this voice and the lines sounded like Mustang but all I could hear was Urahara from Bleach and I thought "oh is this the new Hughes seiyuu" but NO IT WAS MUSTANG and I was still grappling with it when all of a sudden I hear Rukia doing Hawkeye. And i was a huge Bleach weeb back in the day so I just could not unhear those voices, and I couldn't finish brotherhood subbed. about 90% of the VA's were back for the dub so I ended up finishing it that way.
the dub is better! the first baccano video years ago was how i discovered gigguk in middle school, was desperate to find anyone else that loved it as much as me

You’re the leader of the rebellion... if they’ve captured you... oh gods, where are they taking us? Ralof: I don’t know where we’re going, but Sovngarde awaits. Lokir: No, This can’t be happening! This isn’t happening! Ralof: Hey, what village are you from horse-thief? Lokir: Why do you care? Ralof: A Nord’s last thoughts should be of home. Lokir: Rorikstead. I’m from Rorikstead. Hadvar: General Tullius sir! The headsman is waiting. Tullius: Good, let's get this over with. Lokir: Shor, Mara, Dibella, Kynareth, Akatosh! Divines, please help me! Ralof: Sees Tullius Look at him! General Tullius, the Military. And it looks like the Thalmor are with him. Damn elves, I bet they had something to do with this. notices where they are This is Helgen... I used to be sweet on a girl from here. I wonder if Velod is still making that mead with juniper berries mixed in... Funny, when I was a boy Imperial walls and towers used to make me feel so safe. Child: Who are they, daddy? Where are they going? Father: You need to go inside, little cub. Child: Why? I want to watch the soldiers! Father: Inside the house, now. Child: Yes papa... heads inside Driver: Woah... pulls in reins Female Captain: walks up to cart Get these prisoners out of the cart! Lokir: Why are we stopping? Ralof: Why do you think? End of the line. stands up Let’s go, we shouldn’t keep the gods waiting for us. Lokir: No! Wait! We’re not rebels! Ralof: Face your death with some courage, thief. Lokir: You’ve got to tell them we weren’t with you! This is a mistake! Female Captain: Step towards the block when we call your name, one at a time! Ralof: Empire loves their damned lists. Hadvar: Ulfric Stormcloak, Jarl of Windhelm. Ulfric: moves towards block Ralof: it has been an honor, Jarl Ulfric Hadvar: Ralof of Riverwood. Ralof moves forward Lokir of Rorikstead. Lokir: No! He goes straight to the block. Hadvar: By your orders, Captain. I’m sorry. We’ll make sure your remains get returned to Valenwood. Follow the captain, prisoner. Dragonborn: moves to stand next to Ralof Tullius: steps up to Ulfric Ulfric Stormcloak. Some here in Helgen call you a hero, but a hero doesn’t use a power like the voice to murder his king and usurp the throne. Ulfric: growl Tullius: You started this war, flung skyrim into chaos. And now the Empire is going to put you down and restore the peace. Alduin: distant roar Hadvar: looks around What was that? Tullius: It’s nothing. Carry on. Female Captain: Yes, General Tullius! turns to priestess Give them their last rights. Priestess: As we commend your souls to Aetherius, blessings of the 8 divines upon you- Stormcloak Soldier: For the love of Talos, shut up and let's get this over with. marches forward Priestess: hesitates … as you wish. Stormcloak Soldier: Come on! I haven’t got all morning! kneels at block, looks up at Captain/Headsman … My ancestors are smiling at me, Imperials. Can you say the same?? Captain: steps on his back Headsman: beheads soldier Stormcloak Soldier B: You Imperial bastards! Townsfolk: Justice! Townsfolk B: Death to the Stormcloaks! Ralof: ...As fearless in death as he was in life. Female Captain: Next, the wood elf! Hadvar: There it is again... did you hear that? Female Captain: I said... Next. Prisoner. Imperial Soldier: to Dragonborn To the block prisoner. Nice and easy. Dragonborn: moves to the block, kneels at block Headsman: moves to swing axe Alduin: lands, roars Hadvar: What in Oblivion is that!?! Female Captain: Sentries, what do you see?
Imperial Soldier: It’s in the clouds...! Townsfolk: Dragon!! Alduin: roar Tullius: Guards! Get the townsfolk to safety! Ralof: Grabs Dragonborn come on! The guards won’t give us another chance! why?
Dude why just just why
Ghost stories dub is better than sub. Easily
I was literally coming in to say that.
same
He said only one anime where the dub is far superior to the sub?? And didnt say YU YU HAKUSHO???
Absolutely correct.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, is better experienced, when you're watching a DUB. In my opinion of course.
I feel like the comedy in both fma and brotherhood just comes across better, and in the context of where fma takes place, it would just make sense if they spoke english and at the very least, not speak japanese.
Romi Park is my favorite seiyuu and Vic Mignogna is a creepy predator, so... I think I prefer the sub.
@@PedroSteckecilo ah yes the allegations and just that allegations
The problem I have with fmab dub is that, I just didn't want to mess with perfection. The sub is perfect, the engrish is fine cause it's just the names. I tried rewatching in dub but I just couldn't. I had the thought that "well I might as well re-watch it subbed again". Basically I'd say only watch fmab dub if you like watching dubs, cause the Japanese cast is STACKED and pretty much perfect.
@@thatonedan7780 All of his defamation lawsuits were dismissed so... there's obviously something there.
I tried watching baccano sub first and didn't even get through the 2nd episode. i went back and checked out the dub and binged the entire series in a day or 2.
Your all sleeping on Golden Boy's Dub
Holy shit now that's a classic right there! Kintaro's dub VA makes that whole show.
One of the rare moments where Joey argues vehemently
💯 They got the NY and Chicago accent down. And Ladd Russo VA is amazing in dub.
5:25 TRUUUUUUUEE!!
Also, Joey is a fluent Japanese speaker, so he knows things when he watches a show that'll completely fly over our heads when we're just reading subtitles.
Persona 4 the anime has to be the english dub I ever watched.
What did you think of The Great Pretender dub though?
The dub is so easily better. All of the VAs are amazing and having the classic NY gangster accent adds so much to some of the characters. Plus characters like firo, ladd, luck, jacuzzi, etc sound way better and fit more in dub
Where tf do u or these guys watch anime that even baccano has dubs??
@@benitoarga8746 Funimation lost the license for the baccano dub so I think the only way to watch it at this point is illegal anime sites
Gant: Can we please get on?
Connor: HERE'S ANOTHER QUESTION
1:59 The cutest thing I have ever heard
No mention of the GLORIOUS Spice and Wolf dub?
Damn I never watched the dub now I feel dumb
Great pretender dub is done well
Legends of the Galactic Heroes dub was suuuuper good too!
The old ones or the new ones
@@rhyssuy8361 I think the old ones were never even dubbed.
The Baccano dub is unbelievably amazing
Baccano is good anime
@benjamin ramsey ya sexy anime 😂😂
@benjamin ramsey good for an old anime I would say , if you are a OG fan you will love it forever..
The dub is awesome. They all have old brooklyn accent and match the setting so well.
Black lagoon has a great dub
Is anyone going to mention the Ouran High School Host Club dub?
The dub is waaaaaay better than the sub in black lagoon too
hadn't heard of baccano before this. going to watch it dubbed.
Joey going full indignant Aussie: voice pitches up and the use of fucking every second word.
If I have the option I will usually watch a series dubbed simply because it allows me to focus my attention on the animation and I am able to pick out more subtleties in a voice actor's work when it is spoken in my native language. With that said I have no problem with subs.
This times a million.
Cowboy bebop
FMAB
Baccano
Code Geass
Konosuba
These shows have amazing dubs
How dare you forget Ghost Stories?!
How about Naruto dub?I think it was pretty good
Sooo true
I freakin love this podcast, Conner is soooooo hilarious ❤️🤣
the FMA series is my go to for the best dub example
I watched the 2003 version in both sub and dub and i loved both equally
but then Brotherhood came out, and i watched it, and I kept hearing this voice and the lines sounded like Mustang but all I could hear was Urahara from Bleach and I thought "oh is this the new Hughes seiyuu" but NO IT WAS MUSTANG and I was still grappling with it when all of a sudden I hear Rukia doing Hawkeye. And i was a huge Bleach weeb back in the day so I just could not unhear those voices, and I couldn't finish brotherhood subbed.
about 90% of the VA's were back for the dub so I ended up finishing it that way.
I agree the Dub is better it suits the setting of the show and a Dub this well done should be recognized.
I just watch it and it godlike good dub man
Dubs that are better than subs ... and no one mentions Ghost Stories
Is anyone gonna talk about the death note dub or erwins English dub voice?
Cowboy bebop dub is legendary I love it more than the sub
(Clarification I like the sub as well)
me a few days ago: I feel like rewatching bacccano
TY recomendations: you're not the only one with Baccano on the mind,
Ngl cowboy bebop's dub was fantastic
the dub is better! the first baccano video years ago was how i discovered gigguk in middle school, was desperate to find anyone else that loved it as much as me
Gurren Lagann dub is a masterpiece is literally the GOAT
Cannur's worst nightmare is probably being forced to eat Hambagus and watch Baccano subbed.
Fullmetal Alchemist and FMA:Brotherhood have great dubs
Garnt really didn’t wanna be there 😭
