FTR Hare Scramble #10 - Ormond Beach - 04/28/2024 - Master C (10th place)

I have mixed feelings about this race, it was a wake up call on my overall level of riding. I thought I could do better but I couldn’t. I was at the maximum of my capabilities today, all the stars were aligned and yet I couldn’t perform the way I wish I could. 10th place is not bad considering that this year our class is super competitive (Master C), yes the first 5 riders are clearly B level riders and should be in B class, yes I was stuck in traffic forever in the first lap (my second lap was 2min faster so it’s positive) but no excuses, I just couldn’t keep up with the front pack. The trail was super fast and physical, deep whoops, roots jumping at you, but that was the same for everyone. It felt to me that it was the fastest race of the season, maybe because of the new bike, switching from the 501 to the 300 was a revelation and I’m definitely quicker with this one, well, not enough yet! One more race left for the season, then it’s a wrap. See you all in Lake Butler in 2 weeks, cheers, F.
