Like everyone else, this has been my most anticipated ML release of the year. I've watched every review I've been able to find in the past 48 hours, and the enthusiasm, knowledge and expertise you brought to this makes it far and away the best of them all. Context is everything, and sorely lacking from many reviews in a way that damages their credibility. I'm sure it's a lot of work to hunt down the comic images you use to highlight your analysis, and I just wanted to thank you so much for taking the time and having the love of the characters to do figures like this justice in your review, while still offering up honest and valuable opinions on the quality of the figures.
I'd love to see a video sometime on cleaning up paint imperfections with alcohol as you mentioned here. I seem to have gotten lucky with the paint apps on my set but that would be a really useful piece of information to have out there.
Again, spectacular work on this review, thank you so much for all the effort you put in on this and everything you do.

One of Scott’s head is from the comics, the other one is from the TAS.
I also love that they made his tiger stripes on the side one whole thing instead of three individual stripes
If they ever make a X-men Jim Lee’s Morph, they should make extra heads like the old one did. Wolverine, Cyclops and that Sick Morph head,

It’s funny, with the bone claws they already came up with the solution to the claw problem but they didn’t re-implement the design. They sort of refixed it on X-Force woth the much longer peg on the claws, which goes a long way to helping stability.
I can’t believe I’m saying this but I want a vintage Cyke in the three pack colors without tue jacket so we’ll have a correct look for him.
I wish Hasbro did use the old man Logan arms simply due the the DJ elbows.
Still should’ve had a optic blast effect...damaged shoulder pads like the 12 inch Wolverine would’ve been nice. The colors look awesome though

I think will see those bone clause again with marvel legends starts making the fox characters and they do a Hugh Jackman Wolverine.
Definitely could've used alternate hands and power effects for Jean. I will be picking this up though
I scooped mine up this week from my GameStop pre-order. I licked out with really good paint apps after studying the 2 that had come in. I agree some fists for Jean would have been nice along with an effect. X-Force Wolverine claws should be the standard for Hasbro going forward. They’ve made plenty of money off of the old claws.
Also, thanks for the 90’s X-Factor recommendation. I’m 15 issues in and just finished X-Cutioner’s song.
The cyclops jacket arms were first used on the Netflix punisher.

Great review Boog! I really wish they would just make the claws on Wolvie solid & non-removable and give us an extra pair of hands with the special feature. I know there's some scenes & moments when he only pops out 1 or 2 claws but I would much rather have solid straight claws than the way they do it now. I never got all the hate Scott received. I always thought he was a good character but then again I've always liked team leaders. I'm gonna have to read those stories you recommended. Also those transitions & gifs you have always crack me up, lol. Looking forward to this set.
Glad you like the set. I’ve been messing with mine and overall agree with your thoughts. I was talking with someone about how they’re gonna get us with another tank top Logan with bare hands/bone claws, you know that’s gotta be coming haha.
I also like how the Summers head looks on the blue/white vintage Cyclops body, it bothers me how that figure always has his visor activated in both head sculpts. The more relaxed look works for it, IMO.
I don't get why they just don't replace these amantium claws with the one from the XForce Wolverine....such an easy fix for Hasbro.

Great review, didn't notice the blues where different on cyclops before. I'm sure Hasbro matched Jean to the older releases so they could do a classic Jean release with a bright yellow later. And im good with that, if she didn't match my current crew I'd feel some type a waz. Maybe she'll come with fits and an effect next time.

Great review. Thanks for putting in the work for the character history and comparisons. Just got my hands on these and they are definitely a must-have even if you already own the previous versions. The new darker blues and brighter yellows on the Wolverine and Cyclops really look great. I still don't get how Hasbro has done this many Wolverine figures and still hasn't nailed down a great unmasked Logan head. I picked up a custom head and it makes the figure look 100x better.
Easily a must have for me, love all 3 and I never had a jean grey before lol, I also plan to buy the mafex

Having the bone claws connected to the fist that way may stop them being wonky like with the standard claws
Great review, Boog! I was kind of thinking of picking this up but my brain just can't justify the cost. I have 4 Apocalypse wave tiger stripe Wolverines and 2 more from the Hulk 2-pack as well, for a total of 6 yellow Wolvies, and I just don't need another one. I also have the Warlock wave Cyclops and the Rocket Raccoon Jean figure as well. And for me the improvements to the Jean figure just aren't significant enough in my opinion to warrant forking over the cash for the newer model. Besides I actually prefer the metallic paint on the older figure anyway. But if you are a 90's X-Fan and you don't own the previous Cyke and Jean figures, then this set is clearly a no-brainer.
The Scott with the rounded, Ray Ban style glasses is definitely a Dave Cockrum/John Byrne era Cyke. The one with the square glasses is more ‘of a 90s Jim Lee

We need a solid wolverine head sculpt as well. For me the best hasbro one so far is the sword quest black suit wolverine. His hair looks right, his face is decently close to the comics, and he actually has the blue highlights in his hair. I feel like the head sculpts that are coming with the new Mayfex wolverine next month are going to be my definitive comic wolverine sculpts. This unmaasked sculpt is balls imo. For someone as popular as wolverine you think hasbro would at least be consistent with the face sculpts we've been seeing this year. A lot of them side by side look like different characters completely. Awesome review boog!
The wolverine heads are awful he looks goofy as hell . The Mafex or Mezco ones are more human looking. I'm a huge wolverine fan and those Andy serkis looking heads are putting me off buying anymore wolverine figures.
I like the bone claw hands but I kind of feel like that they might be too long in comparison to the adamantium claw hands.

17:58 - there is a difference between the mask fins. All the new ones are a bit further apart, which makes a world of difference.
Hey Boog, if you take the vest portion of the Old Man Logan figure and put it on this cyclops the paint looks so much better IMO
This set looks great, I'm glad everyone is finally able to finish their 90s X-Men team. 90s X-Men ain't my thing but it's everyone else's so that's good for you guys. And I know you aren't a fan of Jean coming back but I think you might enjoy Phoenix Resurrection(which leads into X-Men Red).
Wolverine head looks like he cheated in the exam and got away with it.
I loved this set. Cyclops is my all time favorite Marvel character and Jean is my favorite female X-Man other than Rogue so I had to have them. Wolverine isn't a favorite of mine but I didn't have one, and the bone claws is exactly what I would've wanted in a Wolverine figure.

I see a lot of people tryin to play it off because they're just happy to have a new Jean (it's a lot of people's 1st), but because they painted Jean's face on, she can look pretty janky.
To me, both of Jean's head sculpts have somethin about em that makes them look off.
You did mention the 1 with the mouth slightly open with the teeth showing.
Such a weird choice.. definitely not executed well. I've seen some really jacked up versions of that 1 lol.
As for Cyclops, I'm not feeling the colors on this 1 in comparison to the older version.
I prefer the Metallic Goldish color of the OG 1 and the extra little Gold paint app around the 'X' on his communicator.
I feel like the OG 1 is actually a better Jim Lee representation.
The visor on the new Cyclops looks a lot more plain and the yellow throughout seems a bit too bright.
This Cyclops makes a perfect Animated Series version & I'm pretty sure that's what they were going for with this.

Great review as always. Maybe it's just me, but I think they should use the patch head as the unmasked head. All they need to do is remove the patch. I just think that heads the best unmasked one we have.
I almost want this pack because Jean doesn't look like an action figure, she looks like a work of art! So pretty! I usually only get characters I'm a fan of ( Hence my Nightcrawler army), but I might make an exception for this if I can get it on sale or cheaper. Give Wolverine to my big bro because he's always liked him, keep Cyke and Jean.

Good set overall, though it should have been Cyclops, Jean, and Emma Frost (White costume). I don't care for that Wolverine unmasked head based off Todd Nauck's artwork. I like how Jean Grey's figure is more thicc/robust and the leg articulation is much better than the old one. I still like the old hair sculpt better than the new Jean hair.
Head is the same one from the 12 inch...just shrunk down..whole figure is...nobody seems to realize the different tiger stripes on the torso too

So many reviews are talking about going through multiple copies to pick out a good one. Do these ppl think the whole country is like LA and NYC lol? Maybe my area is some bubble world, but these can only be obtained on GameStop's website. I'm sure I'll probably see like one or two in stores at some point..but one reviewer was talking about going through *TWELVE* sets! Were they directly in the Chinese factory or something??

Same body and jacket, different belt and head, chest painted in yellow, we have animated series Morph. Make it Hasbro!!! Multiple new head sculpts as accesories for those that could use different heads: Beast, Gambit, Rogue, Sabretooth, Cable(no eye effect or ear piece, Stryfe-like), Iceman(no line across the face), You can do it Hasbs!!!
