Yang Liu, from southwestern China’s Guizhou province, has become an online star in the country for her dances “on a river”. Perched on a single bamboo pole, Yang can dance ballet, and even perform splits.

bamboo is round, it’s never going to be stationery - much less in water, you can only try to stabilise it as much as possible. So much skills from her.

Hayao Miyazaki: simple lines with breathtaking backgrounds and music that will forever haunt me.
Isao Takahata: like in the princess kaguya, with watercolors where the reality between fantasy and reality is subjective.
Stephania Herrada could you imagine Disney though! Now they’ve got water and clothing down and realistic movement codes, they could probably animate this like it’s nothing!

This is possibly one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. She's not even shaking or struggling to keep her balance. She's dancing on water with what looks like so little effort. She's graceful and beautiful and deserves all the praise.

Everyone be like sneering or gawking in disbelief when she has successfully performed on floating bamboo but no one was there when she repeatedly fell, nursing her wounds, and got up for another try when she was still learning the trade.
You can tie your feet to the bamboo but if you aren’t balanced you’ll still roll the bamboo and fall. This is not really fakable! This is some amazing talent and concentration.
Dance is a form of art and telling a story with your body, even if it’s just moving your arms around. It’s still considered dancing as it’s telling a story of cultural heritage.

Those people criticizing her choice of life is most definitely jealous that she has such skill, that she weight less that 40kg, that she's famous and any other reason to be jealous. As for the dance or not dance comment? Person probably not familiar with the dance community around the world. I mean, in this modern era we have finger dubstep amd many traditional dance have arm movements, even head and eye movement. Dance is about moving to a rhythm and as to what part move is up to the dancer. Not to mention lady is dancing for herself, not for a dance company and not for the people watching. She does it to preserve a dying skill and to encourage new learners to past the skill to.
