All due respect, Weatherspoon wasn't a coach. She enabled intolerable behavior and encouraged that unprofessional double double streak. Maybe it's just the 20yrs military in me, but she didn't try to mold, lead, or guide them in a positive direction ultimately. Unfortunately, the WNBA product is very unprofessional, but many of the coaches and players are by products. The NBA isn't always great, but the WNBA is way too amateur not to learn from it. More WNBA coaches should be fired. Was refreshing to watch this season, though. Mainly because of Caitlin Clark. Angel will get there, but not being able to make a consistent layup as a pro is crazy. I want to see a better WNBA!
The optics of Reese in street clothes trying to play coach screaming at Witherspoon and Witherspoon calmly nodding was terrible, the optics of Carter attacking Clark and Angel Reese standing up and applauding was terrible, The optics of the two Sky players in the year end the press conference, saying that were being attacked on social media by Catlin Clark fans, and Chicago sky fans, with Witherspoon was behind them, with her hands of both of them was terrible. I disagree. Women’s basketball has become a very physical sport. It appears to me she coaches to the allowable maximum. She is the only coach that has been able to settle Carter down. Her overly aggressive play lessened as the season continued. She never publicly threw her team under the bus. No doubt in my mind that was to keep social media ugliness away. I believe her mistake was creating the monster AR became. Reese thought she ran the team plus the spectacle of the padded double doubles. Sometimes it’s just not a good fit. 🤷♀️

OK, I didn't think Weatherspoon did a stellar job, but let's be real. This team was a mess before she came in. Sure, she was tough, but that's what the team needed and is probably why she was hired. No coach, no matter how seasoned they are could've turned this team around in one year. I love the Fever, but don't think Sides is a good coach either - but she was there last year when the team was the worst in the league and wasn't fired. When a team is in rebuild, they need continuity, which includes the coach. It's easier for a front office to keep replacing coaches instead of looking at what's really going on in the organization, (Cleveland Browns comes to mind). Truth is, s**t falls downward and I think the Sky has done more harm than good firing Weatherspoon.

Placing Barbi's meaningless double-doubles ahead of the good of the team was part of the problem. The other part was not just tolerating, but supporting unprofessional, thuggish behavior, of several of their players without doling out consequences. How the heck do you have Barbi night for a player that can rarely hit a 3 and be one of the poorest layup shooters in the league. The problem with the Sky goes beyond the coaching. The whole team needs to be revamped and priorities adjusted.

I was in the Chicago Sky & WNBA fan groups on facebook.. and people are so nasty on there that I ended up leaving the groups - these players don't deserve any of this.. Imagine someone bashing you all day while you're trying to do your job. It wasn't like this in previous years... Clark brought in a bunch of nasty people. I do think the Sky organization read these comments and make decisions from it. Early on, I rememeber a bunch of people hating on Witherspoon, wanting her fired.. they also wanted the only white player, Mabrey, to be traded as well. Both of those happened.

Sky had 3 Stars: Copper -> (Key Player who "won" the Olympics for TeamUSA Women in Olympics Finals, Maureen Mabry - "3-pt Markswoman,Traded Mid-Season to Playoff Semi-Finalist Storm, and Angela Reese (Team's 1st Round Draft Pick). After the Mabry trade, they were done, as I called it at the time. Imo, they overworked Reese as their best option to make their playoff-push because there were "no other Options". Let's see how they fare next year with a new HC. I disagree. Women’s basketball has become a very physical sport. It appears to me she coaches to the allowable maximum. She is the only coach that has been able to settle Carter down. Her overly aggressive play lessened as the season continued. She never publicly threw her team under the bus. No doubt in my mind that was to keep social media ugliness away.
I believe her mistake was creating the monster AR became. Reese thought she ran the team plus the spectacle of the padded double doubles.

OK, I didn't think Weatherspoon did a stellar job, but let's be real. This team was a mess before she came in. Sure, she was tough, but that's what the team needed and is probably why she was hired. No coach, no matter how seasoned they are could've turned this team around in one year. I love the Fever, but don't think Sides is a good coach either - but she was there last year when the team was the worst in the league and wasn't fired. When a team is in rebuild, they need continuity, which includes the coach. It's easier for a front office to keep replacing coaches instead of looking at what's really going on in the organization, (Cleveland Browns comes to mind). Truth is, s**t falls downward and I think the Sky has done more harm than good firing Weatherspoon.

The other part was not just tolerating, but supporting unprofessional, thuggish behavior, of several of their players without doling out consequences. I was in the Chicago Sky & WNBA fan groups on facebook.. and people are so nasty on there that I ended up leaving the groups - these players don't deserve any of this.. Imagine someone bashing you all day while you're trying to do your job. It wasn't like this in previous years... Clark brought in a bunch of nasty people. I do think the Sky organization read these comments and make decisions from it. After the Mabry trade, they were done, as I called it at the time. Imo, they overworked Reese as their best option to make their playoff-push because there were "no other Options".

I'd love to see Becky Hammon coaching the Sky. She worked with Pop and knows how to make plays, not just stupid isos. Get rid of all Sky guards, including Chennedy and build a system around Kamillla and Angel. Make both improve as Tim Duncan and Robinson or Duncan and Splitter and own the league.

Any new coach other than Swoops is going to want players that can make a layup. Angel isnt goingbto be able to rebuild her shooting texhnique in one off season. She has obviously ignored fundamental skills development to this point so I'm not sure she has the work ethic to put the necessary time in the gym. Its up to her.
Be foreal dude, she is the one who put Reese up with the double doubles and she neglected her other players to give Angela Reese the Ball ( ALWAYS) and stopping the success of the rest of the team. I don't have any proof, but I think that she sent some of her team to attack Caitlin Clark because they couldn't stop her from regular basketball rules Play!
