I feel ridiculously bad for them. This year almost nobody did there good. And knowing they are so good on stage, and perfect in events such as Rythmic Worlds, European Championships ect., makes me feel ×10 times worse. Quarantine, covid and everything in general these past years have affected them so much and it shows. I can't even imagine how they feel.
Especially since even the slightest misplacement or throw that was too hard or soft can really fuck it all up. They need so much precision, which needs to be constantly practiced.
As a rhythmic gymnast, oh my gosh this hurts my soul. Everyone asking why the heck is it always ribbon? Ribbon is so hard, you have to keep it moving, keep it off the floor, off your body, doing a specific shape, not make any knots, not tangle in it and it always dodges your hand when you try to catch it -_-
fr and under the pressure as well- its just death. I had a competition this week and ribbon was a mess. the only reason why i won was because i have good shapes but i dropped on italian fuete and boomerang and i skipped a risk 😭 pain on another level
Ribbons are the problem child, but hoop and ball is always so funny cause you just know it's one bad bounce away from being either sent into orbit or rolling away into the unknown.
It's a swan sport. Either it's the swan gracefully gliding through a starlit lake with graceful music overlaid. Or the hissing honking demon with pretty privilege chasing you trying to end you because you coughed within a one mile radius of it.
Wow, I've actually never noticed how many mistakes they all actually made :( this stupid Covid thing affected them and it really shows, with all the stress, uncertainty and training breaks. I can only imagine how they felt 💔 hope some better times are coming, these girls deserve it ❤

This just makes my day, I am both laughing and felt bad that I chuckled because I know this sport is extremely hard to be perfect, & they all worked very hard to be in the Olympics.

I didn't really follow the Tokyo Olympics so I only watched the RG finals this week and it's ridiculous how different the (medal scoring) routines in 2021 are from e.g. the London 2012 routines. Just one throw after another with barely any breaks. I hope the next COP will promote a more balanced performance again.

This is like a trainwreck. You might not feel like watching (let alone laughing), but you just can’t stop looking. Also, you could do a full video by showing just Japan’s hoops and clubs routine from the teams final. The number of mistakes…it’s almost embarassing.
If the hoop leaves the carpet, does a circle and then returns just like what we saw at 1:15 is there penalty for the gymnast as well? Alexandra did not leave the carpet in this case.
no. Alex did not leave the carpet so the only penalty she would be getting is for the hoop leaving the carpet (0.3 penalty). Also for losing the apparatus, a deduction of 1.00 Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching! :)
Often the family of the gymnast makes sacrifices for their child to pursue the sport, moving to a different part of the country and paying lots of money. Then the gymnast sacrifices being a normal child/teen, wakes up early for practice, works through pain and through painful injuries, diets to stay in shape. Then they had to deal with the setback of COVID. And all that, just to screw up on the biggest stage of your life. It’s really heartbreaking 💔
I feel bad for laughing because i know what it feels like to have the ball in your hands then it just randomly yeets out of the carpet. But i mean like... Laugh through the pain >-
this was the qualifications round where there were some gymnasts who are not as much "elite" as others. But just as you can see, even the top gymnasts still make mistakes at major events. They are human afterall.
@@crybaby-bd9xg oh I have no room to judge these goddesses, but I was just curious if there was some external factor like temperature/ air breeze/ something else. Reminds me of of Sydney 2000 in artistic gymnastics where the vault was set up incorrectly and many gymnasts never recovered from that.

I’m pretty sure most gymnasts and their training facilities will have anticipated the weather and trained in the conditions similar to Tokyo. I know the Belarusian gymnasts did. I know air conditioning can sometimes affect the ribbons. Rhythmic gymnastics is a hard sport. No matter how many times you practice the elements, it comes down to the split moment of judgement and focus.
@@crybaby-bd9xg I have heard from some gymnasts that went to the Olympics that the carpet was sprayed with a sort of sanitizer after every routine which caused the carpet to be moist. That might be the reason for “tornado” instances or why there was a lot of slipping.
I think at 0:48 that purely went into her advantage.. cause like that is just mind blowing🤯 Personally I wouldn’t have noticed it as a mistake.. nah-uh

Yes especially because if you know one of them and saw their routines in different championships where they succeed and that led them to tokyo you know they had a bad unlucky day only.
Linoy Ashram was Israel's most promising athlete in the entire team. She dropped the hoop on her first routine (at 0:22) and was placed 15 for a few hours everybody in Israel was stressing, talking about how it's the biggest mistake she's made in years, maybe the pressure got to her, she just need to qualify and so on. Thankfully she reminded everyone why she's at this level, next routine she got the best score, finished 3rd in qualifications and won gold the next day. Some are just built different
Being placed 15th after one routine is not a big deal though... (considering her level like u mentioned) I mean nobody even doubted her not even qualifying to the finals right? Linoy qualifying to the finals was no question. But yes, she indeed recovered very well in the qualifications.

@@EarthIsFlat456 From an unbiased opinion (my favorite gymnast is Anastasiia Salos), Dina deserved the gold. I was hoping for a fair competition where the podium will be filled with gymnasts with no mistakes. Dina had 4 relatively clean routines but Linoy made a huge mistake in her ribbon routine. But honestly, I think it wasn't a fair battle to begin with in the first place. I definitely felt the judges were against the Russian gymnasts from the beginning. Giving Linoy the lead since the beginning definitely affected the twins mentally, not allowing them to perform their best. But everything aside, this Olympics wasn't a competition between the gymnasts. It was politics. So I would say it doesn't matter who won gold because this wasn't a sports event but, I'll repeat, politics. Linoy just happened to be there for the judges. my opinion... :)
OK let me start with this because people are so fucking ignorant about the sport it’s not even funny. Anybody can do a clean performance it’s about height difficulty in the execution made with the body with the shapes of the apparatus. Linoy did just that It doesn’t matter with the freaking minimal mistake she made with the ribbon she didn’t take five or six steps she took less than pretty much one step to grab the ribbon.

@@crybaby-bd9xg Thanks I actually thought it was just some practice round. And what do you think about Ashram winning gold? I don't know much about rhythmic gymnastics but it appears many think Dina should've won.
@@EarthIsFlat456 From an unbiased opinion (my favorite gymnast is Anastasiia Salos), Dina deserved the gold. I was hoping for a fair competition where the podium will be filled with gymnasts with no mistakes. Dina had 4 relatively clean routines but Linoy made a huge mistake in her ribbon routine. But honestly, I think it wasn't a fair battle to begin with in the first place. I definitely felt the judges were against the Russian gymnasts from the beginning. Giving Linoy the lead since the beginning definitely affected the twins mentally, not allowing them to perform their best. But everything aside, this Olympics wasn't a competition between the gymnasts. It was politics. So I would say it doesn't matter who won gold because this wasn't a sports event but, I'll repeat, politics. Linoy just happened to be there for the judges. my opinion... :)
OK let me start with this because people are so fucking ignorant about the sport it’s not even funny. Anybody can do a clean performance it’s about height difficulty in the execution made with the body with the shapes of the apparatus. Linoy did just that It doesn’t matter with the freaking minimal mistake she made with the ribbon she didn’t take five or six steps she took less than pretty much one step to grab the ribbon.
