You should have got a cheap wheel trim or full set of matching ones if you couldnt get one the same as the others it cheapens the look with the steel wheel
I had a 2002 Ford fiesta that I bought in 2009, it wasn't my FIRST car, but it was the first car that I bought with my own money by choice, and I LOVED it. IT was such a step up from the previous s**t heaps I had driven, the gear shift didn't stick, the radio was good, it felt a lot more solidly built. Also, would you not buy a set of generic hub caps? I would think the 20 or 20 pounds you spend would be worth it in terms of improving the appearance, you can even get ones with a blank space in the centre, where you can then apply decals with the correct car badge.
When using bondo ( Body filler ) Using too much is better thwn using too little, its best to use 50 grit atleast to get the main bondo off then use a finer grit as you go on
You did a excellent job on the lights and bumper. I tried the same as you on the lights and still pretty bad, but better than when I started but only just
I just started doing the same thing but do all the work myself to save on even more costs. Anyway nice work before you know it you be buying super cars and fixing them
I have a few options on my mind, but now trying to prioritize the current situation and focus on it. However, once I reach the midpoint of the project, I will certainly share my thoughts with all of you!
I assume you live in Coventry My home town..? That last bit looks a bit like Earlsdon Spencer road lol. Personally I feel you paid far too much for the car You may already know this. On mot you can check back on service history Mots Give you example I have a Mercedes CLK 320 Convertible my cars biggest issue is underside surface rust. or not on this but my Audi A6 2.7 TDI Oil leak. Before I ever buy a car I at least check history it comes in traffic light form RED AMBER GREEN, but green = excellent mot standard Amber a pass with advisories and red is poor standard. Here is my 52 plate Mercedes mot history in my ownership but all mot history.. green =10 pass 38.46% (border line) amber = 30.76% red = 30.76.Out of 26 MOT's Mot pass rate 69.23% Comparing it with another MB CLK 2001 CAR Green 55% Amber 20% Red 25% = total 20 mots 21 year old car. mot pass rate =75.00% Compare both its not much between them the 2001 car had time of the road. Cars fail mot on bulbs and headlamp bulbs.. I own 5 different vehicles so its tricky keeping them all in great condition. I have my favorite three cars Mercedes CLK 320 My Audi A6 2.7TDI and My Astra convertible 2.2 Bertone. My plans are to improve there MOT status over next 3 - 4 years.. I do have one for sale it has full service history 8 stamps in service book and around £2600 worth of repair bill/work done to the car its on 88.000 miles. The car in question is a 2007 Astra Twin top 1.9CDTI in Dark blue metallic here is its mot history stats.. green pass 7 amber pass 6 red fail 3 total mots = 16 mot pass rate 81.25%. Honestly Its actually my best car I own. 1, 52 plate Astra Bertone 2.2 convertible 64.00% Purchase year 2016 2, 52 plate Mercedes CLK 320 convertible 69.23% Purchase year 2016 3, 07 plate Audi 2.7TDI Avanti Estate 82.35% Purchase year 2020 4 14 plate Ford Transit Van 2.2 TDCI 72.73% Purchase year 2017 5 07 plate Astra Twin Top 1.9 CDTI 81.25% Purchase year 2022 There is room for for improvement 36.00% - 18.75 % Good exercise to do I have now established what work needs doing on each vehicle..
You never buy any car for more then scrap value when there’s no mot, £300 max, and not going to lie I’d would of passed after seeing how damaged it was for the price you bought it for I wouldn’t of give it a second look, needed way to much body work doing
How did you know which exact paint colour you needed to buy?
