I have had mine for about 5-6 years now with no problems except developing some sloppiness in the drives. Easily sorted - instructions can be found online.
Nice review! Haven’t seen you post in a while. I just got one of these
Quite impressed by this vide an have just brought one of these heads, and yes it's as good as this review! Thank you. :)
In the UK this is £160 GBP ..just bought it... I like the plate especially,, good review thx
great vid, thanks
Hi Michael.... so, 8 months on from this unboxing, how is the head holding up? Any issues of movement or play? I'm looking to get one for use with my Fuji XT2
Hey Dinesh :) mine is still going strong, not wobbly or loose at all at the moment. I've been really happy with it so far
What tripod are you using?
It's a brand called Zomei, it's a cheap tripod off eBay but it's fantastic
@@MichaelRoninTV is it the professional or the travelling one. Thank for your reply
@@stevestephen1049 I'm pretty sure it's the travel one :)
@@MichaelRoninTV One last question do you know the model number by chance? If not thanks again for your time
@@stevestephen1049 it's the q666 :)
Not so good when you want to shoot a panorama, for that you need the panning surface level.
It's perfect for panoramas, as long as you get it level to begin with the panning stays level quite well
@@MichaelRoninTV No, you must level using the tripod legs for a panorama to work.
@@oneeyedphotographer it makes no difference as long as the head is level, the tripod can be anywhere. Once the head is level, you pan and it stays at that level
@@MichaelRoninTV Set your tripod up on the floor, with one leg shorter or longer than the others, to simulate uneven terrain. Or put a brick under one leg.
Attach the camera and make it level using the adjustments of the head. Then pan the camera and watch.
I use a levelling base to make the base of the head level. Adam Williams (Adam Williams Creative) uses a rotator on the top of head, beneath the camera.
Sunwayfoto makes levelling bases, rotators and some ballheads that pan at the top. Manfrotto makes a selection of levelling bases. Leophoto (Leofoto?) makes some ballheads that pan at the top, and some that pan too and bottom.
