Giles, it is great to see you present this type of instructional lesson which takes into the reality for most of us, we don’t have the flexibility, fitness nor ability of professional golfers, so a simpler swing with less stress on the body is extremely valuable for us. Yes please do more of these type of instructional videos so that us older golfers can continue to enjoy this great game.
Love it. Basically sums up my stock swing. Well, up till impact that is. My current coach is trying to get me into more right side bend at age 55. Works sometimes, and yes it adds more distance, but my back definitely likes it less.
Excellent video Giles on showing senior golfers how to transform their golf swing to a more complementary way. I am 87 years old and I no longer have the flexibility that I had when I was younger. A few years ago, I decided to transform my golf swing to a more "user friendly" way. I began to use the arm drop and rotation that you referred to in this video and it has not restricted my golf swing! I neither lost consistency nor distance! Your videos have helped me a lot Giles! Well Done and Thank You!
Another great video, Giles; loved the drills & swing thoughts. Thanks! Two things for me: 1) On full swings I had to be careful when getting my hands down fast to keep my arms connected to my shoulder & hands close to the body; otherwise inconsistent ball flight and direction. 2) also worked for wedges and short game with minor modification as in your other short game videos.
This is great advice for a senior or anyone who has back issues. We'd all love to swing like a pro, but that just isn't realistic for most of us. Thanks for providing tips that help to compensate.
Great explanation of the release! Would you describe it as pulling the butt of the handle "around the corner" or "up and in", while rotating the forearms/wrists?
HOLY CRAP THANK YOU. This is the way I've been golfing for years and I keep on trying to throw my right shoulder down to increase side bend but it has never actually helped me improve accuracy and distance. I feel vindicated. Thanks boss 🙂
The alignment stick in front of the ball drill, looks easy doesn’t it .. I do that drill because I release the club early. I’ve videoed myself doing it, and bang there goes another alignment stick . 😂.. someone suggested replacing my iPad for the alignment stick for added incentive 😂😂.
I have been working on this vertical drop. Easier said then done by the way. I did notice your lead toe raise just before or during your downswing. Is this a trigger to get your lead hip open as to transfer your weight?
I’m going to be 60 this year and I have a lot of back problems any tips you can supply like this would help me continue to play. I love golf but by the the end of the round, I am in a lot of discomfort. And depending I can’t do much after I play.

Hi Giles, a great potential video series. Thank you.
Really, really good video, Giles.
This gives a new meaning to the term "effortless golfswing."
So well explained too.
Top class mate.
Thank you Shaun! Great to hear such good feedback
Lovely video Giles! Great amount of diverse content on your channel
Thanks a ton!

I personally wouldn’t teach that to someone who has any chance of back pain

That’s amazing to hear! Goes to show that you can adapt your swing to your body regardless of age or flexibility

Exactly that! The swing needs to be tailored to different body types

I think both are absolutely fantastic ways of describing it

It’s a really hard drill and depending on your budget you can use whatever you want 😂

Yes it’s my trigger
