The Barbie game music is both uncanny and oddly soothing. I'd expect it from something with gothic art and atmosphere but an optimistic storyline.

fun fact: the exact same year that barbie horse adventure released, the same devs released a surprisingly well done port of Max Payne to GBA with the same engine.

I was totally going to comment "That Barbie reminds me of the GBA Max Payne for some reason", but scanned down to see if anyone else had the same observation. Guess I was more right than I thought.
Heh, I came here from the latest Game Boy Trash upload (part 4), and Vinny plays that game briefly in it and talks about it being surprisingly decent (apart from the jarring camera movement and aiming problems). Apparently no one in chat mentioned it used the same engine as this.
Whoever added the barbie horse game just so vinny could see the slow moving horse title screen with weird music. What a hero.

Vinny's reaction to the Hot Wheels game took a complete 180 in about 3 seconds. "Oh god, a 3D racing gam--- Woooaaah, it doesn't run like a slideshow!"
Ha, the Shrek sprite is an actual fighter in Salty Bet. I recognised it instantly.
I like how the Hot Wheels game runs better than Checkered Flag on the Jaguar.

Any game where you can play as Muriel gets a thumbs up for me.
I loved Cartoon Speedway as well, the last map Vinny played even has one of my favorite glitches - when you pass the first jump over the track, if you hit it on the left side, you can enter the jump, turn around, go over the jump, and you're suddenly miles ahead on the track.
Placing the pitfalls right before the jumps to trap the computer was one of my other favorite parts, oftentimes they'd get dropped in the middle of the jump, on the part of the track they're going over, and get stuck trying to drive into the wall rather than redoing part of the track.

1:27:14 - The original Ecco The Dolphin included a special password PINKFLOY which would take you to the level Welcome To The Machine. Interestingly PINKFLOY doesn't pass the games internal logic for password generation, which means someone specifically put it there when coding the game.
Being that Welcome to the Machine is the name of a Pink Floyd song, it would have to be.

I'm not ashamed to say that the Care Bears game was like my childhood. I remember it being one of the first video games I had ever played. Hell, I'm pretty sure I still have that same cartridge and Game Boy Advance I played it on since I was 4.

Oh man, I loved Barbie Horse Adventures so much! I can't believe Vinny hated it that much, I genuinely enjoyed it as a kid. I still have a copy somewhere, actually. I should dig it out sometime, it's really not that bad of a game! I don't remember that music being quite so cursed, though...

The Barbie game is truly spine chilling for some reason. I've had dreams and nightmares very similar to that opening screen. Animals and people who are barely there walking against creepy digitized landscapes. Plus the clouds moving so fast and realistically against it is something so many 90s/early 00s games did that just feels off. The music also does not help and feels ominous. I would cry if I had that game as a child.
The only one of these I've played was Care Bears, which is boring but not the worst thing ever.
I forgot I had that hot wheels game. The most buried and obscure memories came flooding back watching the gameplay.

My opinion of Vinny just went down. How can he not know about Don Bluth's classic American Tale, or its sequel Fievel Goes West, the last credited movie for James Stewart?
To be fair Don Bluth's best work was probably just a bit before Vinny's time, assuming he's a bit younger than I am.
It's a hell of a lot harder to have fond childhood memories of _Rock-A-Doodle_ or _Thumbalina_ than it is for _The Land Before Time_ and _All Dogs Go To Heaven._
Also, apparently Mr. Bluth has a hand-animated film adaptation of Dragon's Lair coming out this time next year.

Between Vince McMahon getting a shotgun pulled on him at a Victoria area bar, to his beer bath on the the McMahons and the Rock.
I honestly haven't given a shit about wrestling for like 20 years now, but wrestling was pretty much my shit back in the day because of this. Thanks for bringing back random, but great memories of my childhood.
