Blake Belladonna, a moody and shadowy Faunus assassin huntress. She’s so cool, I can see how her moves caught Yang’s eye. She’s like a ninja with cat attributes. Mikasa would be jealous of her speed and skills at slaying beasts and toxic exes.
Apart from Pyhrra, I like her style the most. She attacks from close and long range being always acrobatic, dynamic and with raw attacks. Also, she uses her semblance witch great intelligence and teams very well with her partners while taking advantage of the ground. She only lacks a little bit of strength, she lacks gun power and she isn't a finisher.
Blake has some of the best fight scenes in the show. From the trailer, early season, Blake and Yang vs Adam fight to all of the vol 9 fight scenes. She’s just awesome. Ik tons of people say that Blake’s the weakest member of team RWBY because she needs support. though I understand, I don’t care, she an awsome fighter regardless. The second best in my opinion but still. Overall, Blake definitely got some great fight scenes.
Blake is and has always been more of an "agile speedster" type, but the idea that she's the weakest (by ones who I can guess >cough< sexist & homophobic incels >cough
She doesn't though, any moments that involve Yang are naturally done cause she isn't some superhuman supersoldier. Hell if anything she's shown feats of strength akin to Yang like her going toe to toe with the Cenitaur and anchoring the Hound; as well as holding her own against Adam. The entire show has made a point to avoid the idea of reducing one party of a relationship in order to shine another up as a "knight"; usually a hetero thing but could be done with LGBT+ as well.
@@CrimsonXE But Yang never gets bailed out by Blake because she makes a mistake, she's always the one doing the rescuing. If it was equal I wouldn't be complaining.
@@powderedsoul9128Except that you're looking at the wrong area for the tit-for-tat. In Yang's case where she falls short is in dealing with her emotional/mental aspects, which is where Blake not only allows her to express her vulnerability but is shown supporting her when she does. Most blatantly in v9. Though there's been several cases where Yang has also been knocked down. The Paladin fight where it leads into the reveal of her semblance. And more seriously against Adam, where not only does she lose her arm but Blake has to risk getting decapitated and pushing her semblance to its next level or to its max to create a second clone of Yang to distract Adam to get her away to safety. Also again in v6 where she jumps to attack Adam after climbing up the cliffside. The reality is that Blake has never been nor ever will be a solo brawler type; while Yang has always been in that camp. Its why they mesh so well, speed & support via distraction tactics w/ tankiness, martial prowess, & power.
@@CrimsonXE Except Blake has been able to take down Torchwick and Ilia in one-on-one fights, so it's not that she could never be a solo brawler, they just nerfed her to make her more of a damsel-in-distress needing people to save her.
@@mauriceisaac3646Torchwick at best is an "elite mook" who isn't at all implied to be that powerful. Ilia is like Blake in the agile speedster camp and also not implied to be super powerful, being more espionage based. So neither of those really back up any idea of Blake being a brawler. The Cenitaur blade clash and anchoring the Hound do more towards that aspect. Regardless "damsel-in-distress" doesn't go anywhere near Blake and actually run completely against the core of the damn show; so no its not at all in place. While BS'ers probably would like the idea of d-i-d, BB'ers wouldn't so it wouldn't even be appealing to the main romance for Blake.
Best Epic Badass Ninja Assassin Faunus Huntress of *RWBY* right here: Blake Belladonna! I Absolutely Love this girl! She's like, a Ninja Girl Combined with Cat Attributes! No wonder her Speedy Movements caught Yang's attention!
Another great collection!! Blake's fights are always fluid and complex!! What she lacks in firepower and strength she makes up for in speed & flexibility!! As a lover of martial art movies, Blake's fighting style is sweetness!! But, I did noticed one thing, Dakota..... You missed a fight. The first battle with Ilya where Sun got wounded. Probably had to leave it out for time. That's would be my guess. Still, this was awesome overall!!! 😎👍🏿🌹❄️🖤🔥
Blake's semblance really matches with her fighting style which makes her have one of the best fight scenes, i dont get why haters say she's weak. Plus in team fights 8:02 i realized that she's mostly paired up. She works good with a partner, team and even by herself.
Love how you think Blake is this emo goth like character but then you find out she's actually a happy go lucky goof ball inside who was just jaded by time of seeing cruelty and being manipulated by Adam
Honestly one of my favorite characters in the show. She really has it all. Catgirl ninja with secret agent skills fighting to undo the cause she thought was right. I also love how her motif is flighty and fluttery piano bits that highlight how her personality is.
I have a crush on her. And, I made her part of my story, which is the role for the girlfriend (later wife) of the title character. It’s called Rocky Baracus and it’s based off (you guessed it) Rocky Balboa. 😉
The difference between Blake vs illia and Blake vs adam, she limited her weapon usage because she was holding back and trying her best not to hurt her. In blake vs adam, she was using everything she could and even more.
She was meant to be a cool character that struggles on bow to deal with the racial prejudice facwd by her race but RT reduced her to a lesbian that obssess over her Yang and Yang only
Okay >cracks fingers< let's tear this b.s. apart: a) At least get your bigotry correct in that Blake is confirmed BISEXUAL, but congrats on showing your bigoted bias right off the bat. She wasn't "reduced" as being LGBT+ isn't a negative. b) She's still a badass "cool" character if anything she's gotten more so now that she's comfortable with herself as well as openly flirting with her now gf. c) She still struggles on racial prejudice & even her own identity as shown in v9 d) She doesn't actually obsess over Yang but she is y'know in love with her and shows it; while being fully capable of doing her own thing with others. Its almost like people in a relationship >gasp< want to be around each other. On top of that its almost like the teams were setup from the start with sub-pairs within. Also where romance tends to bloom because of the two relying on, spending large amounts of time with, & trusting each other.
She's so badass and complex, love her. I'd say I can't believe there's a hatedom towards her. But then I know there's a bunch of incel sexists that can't take a woman being more badass than males but also not kneeling to become a prize gf cause a "Mr. Nice Guy" did good things towards her (alongside plenty of bad ones); or cause she didn't literally sacrifice herself to show her loyalty/devotion to a psychopathic terrorist abuser that wasn't worthy of her. Also her finding, falling for, pining for, and actually canonically getting with her fellow badass girlfriend who is everything the others failed to be. Not to mention the idea that Blake's combat skill dropped, like it really didn't. If anything her strength was upgraded as the seasons went on w/ her anchoring the Hound and pushing back against the Cenitaur's blade attacks. And Arryn is just >chef's kiss< with voicing her. Makes me wish that some IQ scenes were in this alongside JL crossover movie #2 xD
I wouldn't say I hate her, I just don't really care for her since her White Fang subplot fizzled out, which left her little keeping her in the story other than her relationship with Yang. Plus, she's lost most of her backbone as whenever she's confronted by someone, she justs shrinks away to be defended by Yang or Weiss, when she used to be able to stand up for herself, which made sense with her past as an activist freedom fighter. Simply put, she has little going for her as a character anymore besides shipping.
