You caught some beautiful rigs there. I love the Roto-Ray lights on Middletown Rescue 8. If I had my way they would be required on all fire appartatus just because they look cool and they really attract drivers' attention.
I wish we had that type of mutual aid here in West Texas! LOL We have about 20 fire fighter's, a ladder, and 2 engines to fight our structure fires with. Nearest mutual aid is 40 minutes away in another County. 😁 "It's John Wayne time boys. You're on you own."
Reminds me of my first structure with my paid department. Served with a paid department in Charleston County SC in 2001 to 2002. Came from an affluent area of NJ where I was a vollie for 10 years prior. Our equipment was more modern as was our training and we had Mutual Aid and task forces for everything. That first structure as a paid, we had 3 engines, 2 men on each and a ladder, driver only. We had guys pulling up in their pickups with gear and more supplies. No mutual aid ever in my year there. Sadly, the Super Sofa fire helped change that.
In the state of Pennsylvania blue lights are a courtesy light volunteer departments use as well to let other drivers know that there is an emergency response in progress when firefighter are traveling to the station
If you think that is a lot a of apparatus for a house fire you should see our responses here in NYC. For a structural fire (10-75) such as this it can start out with a "Typical" response of 3 Engines 2Ladders 1Battalion. Once the "All-Hands" for the box is transmitted also responding would be additional 1 Engine, 1 ladder (FAST Truck) 1 Battalion, 1Deputy chief, [SOC(Special operation Command) Companies/Special Units], including, but not limited to 1Rescue Co. 1SquadCo. RAC unit, and several other units. Once the chief has made an initial assesment he may also request extra individual units (For example, 1extra truck /1extra engine)without transmitting 2nd alarm. For a fire such as this there can be anywhere from 6-13+ units ("Typical") on the first alarm response. I Use the word typical because the FDNY is extremely complex and in such a diverse environment with many types buildings such as NYC situations tend to vary very often.
Man I hope this is a good one,my balls are freezing cap! Just kidding! Got retired fire and police in my family and a few not retired. So don't get them waded.
Rescue 8 is such an amazing looking rig.

what is the job of those box cars like the one at 2:14? Do they carry extra water?
That truck at 2:14 is a heavy rescue. It does carry water and hoses but mostly rescue equipment.
Ron Roberts does it have a pump? Or does another truck pump the water?
Spencer Peterson Yes it has a pump

Es hat also Wasser Schläuche eine Pumpe und Rettungsgeräte? Sorry das ich auf Deutsch schreibe ich habe keine Lust das zu übersetzen😂

Amazing video man!! Rescue 8 & 9 are really beautiful trucks.
What are these unmarked SUVs with the blue lights used for? Are they police units?
In the state of Pennsylvania blue lights are a courtesy light volunteer departments use as well to let other drivers know that there is an emergency response in progress when firefighter are traveling to the station
What is the thing on front of the rescue
Dakota Hoes its A Roto Ray
Specs on ladder 8 and Ladder 21?
Ladder 8 is a 1998 Pierce Lance 105' quint with 500 gallons of water. Ladder 21 is a 1997 Simon Duplex/LTI 75' Quint also with 500 gallons of water.
Utility 21 needs some back light besides the light bar

So many vehicles for one house? You'd be lucky to see more than 3 engines here in the UK. Then again, our engines do carry more fire fighters!

I'm from England and a few weeks ago a neighbour's garage caught dire. 6 fire trucks and an Incident Commander rolled up. Crazy fire though
chimney fires do have a habit of causing full structural fires
where is fire trucks responding best of 2015 and ambulances responding best of 2015?
Gee how big is this chimney?
