Cupped and tinned ring terminals using high silver content solder imo is the best way. Minimal corrosion because no exposed wire and excellent connection. All you need is a vice and a torch. And solder of course lol.
Im an electrician and I have access to large electric and hydraulic crimpers but I don't personally own, so at home to do some 4 gauge wire, I used a vice then cut a small piece of solid steel rod to size and put parallel to cable lug and viced it up hard, for me this felt like a really solid connection. Before this to quickly do some wire I just crimped the lug in the vice, was solid but not as good as crimping with the steel rod.
IDK, maybe I'm biased, but I had kinda hoped the affiliate link went to the TEMCo Crimper v2, as it's literally the best "hammer-style" crimper available, presently a little cheaper, has mounting holes, and the 5-year warranty covers ANYTHING you do to it. But 🤷🏻♂️.
Love watching your videos man makes us budget builder accomplish our dreams without breaking the bank were all in the struggle together
Looks nicer if you hit the lugs on the backside so its round on the top where you see it. Adds 5db.
