I'd like to address something based on some feedback: This technique was reported recently in other publications, such as Fujirumors, and by someone else who also discovered it. I did not know about those articles or those hack suggestions. I had been working on a solution for this for a Fast Friday video several weeks ago, but had issues with the file permissions until I figured out I could use Visual Studio Code to "save as sudo" to get it working. I shot the video on Dec 6 and Dec 7, edited it the evening of Dec 7, and launched the morning of Dec 8. Bottom line: I would never steal anyone's idea and claim it as my own. No way. All that being said, I'm glad that others are also figuring these things out as well, as I don't think that software should not be restricting users from access to all the film simulations.
I found this hack back to November but haven't published at that time, sent to Fujirumors on 4th of December. Funny, you both published at the same day (almost the same time), but it was obvious, someone else will found this hack, too easy to do. :)
@@MrSonance Yeah, I was tearing my hair out because I just KNEW I had the right files, but the mac would not let me save them. I knew the Visual Studio Code was used to edit system files, etc. and really got lucky when the Sudo function appeared and allowed me to keep the changes. I wasn't going to go down the path of having to use terminal or figure out command line. Interestingly, people have reported to me today that when they went to update LR, this blew away the fix. I guess that they just replace those files when the new version is added -- and so they need to be edited again. I'll bet now between you, Fujirumors, and my video, Adobe closes this little workaround. It will be interesting to see what happens. Cheers!

Hi there, great video! On a PC it's even easier! the File can be: 1 copied on desktop 2 opened easily with notepad 3 edited as you explained 4 saved 5 copied back to the same location replacing the original file 6 works perfectly! I own a x100v and I used to have a x100t and now I can use all Fuji presets also on my old x100t files! *before updating LR just make a back up of the edited file so you wont have to edit again, just paste it.
For those seeing this video for the first time, your Fujifilm simulations are automatically there but not at the same time. In the drop down you have to click browse and it will open up another dialogue box to scroll through all the different color profile options. Click in the top right of each Fujifilm simulation to favorite them so they are automatically in the drop down moving forward
Great hack! The X-T4 was not on my buy list as I am quite happy with my X-T3. However, I have been disappointed that Fuji seems to have given up on "Kaizen" for the X-T3 which has the same sensor & processor as the X-T4. Now I have those profiles denied to X-T3 shooters, thank you.
Bit late to the party with this hack, but so glad I found it. What is interesting, once you have updated the files as described, if you create a user preset with just the film simulation it seems that you can then apply the Fujifilm film simulations to files from any camera. This definitely works on my Canon S95, Olympus Tough TG-5 and my much older Canon raw files from an Eos 350D and an Eos 60D. This also works for my Fujifilm XF10 as the hack doesn't work quite so directly as it does with my X-T30.
I just recently installed C1 Express for Fujifilm. When I imported some pictures from my X-T3 I could actually use Classic Negative without any hack. Bleach Bypass isn't available, but at least Classic Negative is and I love it. So you may wanna try that.

Hi, I found a way to do the same in C1, in the directory where C1 is installed there is a Film Curves folder. In there you find all the simulations by camera name, for example FujiXT4-Fujifilm ETERNA BLEACH BYPASS.fcrv. What you have to do is simply to copy that file and rename it FujiXT3-Fujifilm ETERNA BLEACH BYPASS.fcrv and with that you would have that simulation for the XT3.
Works perfectly on Windows if you select ROOT:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic\Resources\Settings\Adobe\Profiles\Camera\Fujifilm directory. Thanks

I think so. I'm working on that hack right now.
Thanks for the great insight!! By the way why i can’t find the xmp file - XT4 in that folder? And how to get that xmp file? Thank you
Hello,
Do you know a hack to use fuji film simulation on a canon camera?
Thanks 👍
I will use those film simulations of XT-4 that are missing in my XT-1
Different chip sets so beware. Xt3 and xt4 have tge same parts!
it would be great to see a video on your toughts about the old Fuji xt1
it works well on Windows and with my Fuji X-T20 files
This is so cool! Thanks Pal
👍
Thanks for this Pal. Any idea how to enable Acros? I can only find XMP files for the latest few cameras on Windows.
I used this a while back and it worked beautifully. Just got a new computer though and tried it again and the coding program gives me an error about not having sufficient permissions to change the code (even as sudo). Is this because adobe “fixed” this? Is there another coding program I can use?
Is there a way to enable eterna for T1/T2/T10/T20 cameras?
Hi Pal2tech, do you have reala ace profile on lightroom?
Hey great video! I know im a little late, but I'm getting a 'save failed" even after clicking try with pseudo and entering my password. Any tips on getting around this? Thanks!!
