It's a very interesting gameplay, i was looking for a game that includes dices and cards and this looks fun, and tactic, also i like they presentation and that it looks easy yo play even for a non English speaker like me, i just bought gunslinger vs samurai but i bought this one too, i can't wait both arrive to my home. I'm Also want to Buy the coop mode when it arrives to Amazon Mexico
The marbled dice look so much better than the standard dice. I'm definitely glad that there are an option. Seeing that most of the newer characters have a basic attack roll (i.e. rolling 1-3 on 3, 4, or 5 dice just deals damage) this really makes me wonder why the Paladin in season 1 doesn't have a basic attack roll. This seems very odd for a design choice and makes the Paladin harder, for no real reason. So why doesn't he have a basic attack roll?
He doesn't gain enough CP to make it worth using on rerolls. It also doesn't help when you have a chance to get more swords. Without a basic attack there is nothing to do when you roll all 1s or 2s. You would have to roll at least 2 dice and make sure that they land on something other than 1, 2, 5, or 6. That's a terrible way to be. No other character is forced into that position, not even the new characters.
The Paladin has a "Complexity 5" rating. These ratings represent how difficult it is to play a hero *well*. For all heroes with a high complexity rating, we expect some people to complain that the hero is underpowered, while others complain that the same hero is overpowered. This is certainly the case with the Paladin. For example, we exhibited at PAX West just a couple of weeks ago. We had 4 different people come to our booth all on the same day. 2 of them were convinced that the Paladin was utter crap and couldn't believe we had designed him like he is. The 3rd person said that he only plays the Paladin and dominates all other heroes because he's so ridiculously strong. The 4th person said he wished the Paladin was never created because he's so overpowered. There is an entire strategy thread about the Paladin pinned to the top of our Facebook Community group (community.dicethrone.com). But as an example, one person even emphatically states that the Paladin "had best design of season one by far" (imgur.com/a/rvFR21L). We are also pleased w/ the way he turned out and love watching players learn how to deal with his strengths and weaknesses effectively :)
The Complexity rating is a little far-fetched. The Shadow Thief is rated at 6 yet he is pretty easy to use. You have lots of options with him plus he has a basic attack that can trigger poison. So how is it that he is easier to use than the Paladin, even when he is rated higher on the Complexity rating?
Yes, we will have a retail edition. However, this won't hit stores until January. If you pre-order it now, you receive a large discount and it will be shipped to you with our kickstarter backers in November (instead of January). season2.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders
The tactician dice should have been a dark brown or a burgundy red brown or anything except black :/ it's pretty bland only thing holding be back for the tactician
Please do a redisgn of season 1!

Paladin's gameplay relies mostly on his reroll passive ability.
