Your game reviews are by far my favorite Dice Tower videos, Tom. I'd love to see more on your channel. Even if they're short, your opinion matters a lot to me. Thanks for all the hard work.
Dice Throne is an awesome game and the team at Roxley deserve a ton of credit for seeing the potential in DT and taking Season 2 to the next level. Can’t wait for Season 3!
Great game, but in the video (I've said this before) do not do the text effects! They look cheap, and the text is harder to read. It goes by too fast and if the Designer and Artist names don't even fit properly on the screen, the you are doing something wrong.
I gotta agree here. Nothing is wrong with cleanly displaying the information you want to present. The current way is not functional nor visually appealing. Sorry Roy. But yeah great game, glad I backed this season!
Watching you chucking those players at the 1:00 mark made my heart race... but it's true that the components are good enough to handle that kind of treatment. Dice Throne is easily my favourite game, so needless to say I agree with you that S2 is excellent, and I totally get that point where you say "This character is my least favourite, but I'll gladly play them!" Haha. I will say, though, that the strategy in this game extends far deeper than this review suggests. Yes, with a low complexity character, like the Barbarian, the Samurai, the Moon Elf, there are fewer strategic choices, but even still, there are a lot of decisions you need to make each turn. The dice won't always work out for you, and your cards won't always be the ones you want, so luck is very much a part of the game, but past that, you have so many choices as to HOW you want to gamble and the choices you make will be better or worse depending on your specific character as well as the specific character you're up against. There's enough there that in a best-of-three format, it's a great tournament game. You can't say that about a game like King of Tokyo. I loved this review, however, and I'm glad to see the game get the Seal of Excellence!
joelface I don’t think King of Tokyo ever set out to be a Tournament game, so that’s not much of a dis. 😁 It’s like saying “it’s a great two player game, you can’t say that about Deception: Murder in Hong Kong”. 😀
Held off backing it but was able to get the battle chest edition after KS. It's a Fantastic game! Cant' wait until Season 3 which will offer some co-op aspect to the game as well additional characters. Was waiting to see what Tom thought of it. Since he liked the first season, I was sure he this would be no exception.
Backed season 2 before i got season 1 on the table. Yeah, it looks good. But its not nearly as fun as King Of Tokyo. Quite boring take on ” i hit you then you hit me...”
I've played both King of Tokyo and Dice Throne. Both are fun. If I have 2 players I prefer dice throne. 5 or 6 players, then kot. If 3 or 4, good question. They're both fun.
@@TheRealSdog Two player game in King Of Tokyo is pointless. And almost is in Dice Throne too. It's too simple for an "i hit you then you hit me" game to be fun. And don't get me wrong i like simple dice chuckers, but i feel this is hyped because it looks good because there is hardly a game there...
@@ProfOfHifi I get that maybe it's not your cup of tea, but I find it to be fun, and there's quite a bit of strategy to be discovered. For example I may want to use my cards to help my dice roll, but maybe instead I use that same card to mess up my opponents roll. Do I use a card, or sell it to use another card? Each character feels different and takes a bit to get what strategy works for that character.
How to tell Tom really likes the Box and components? He only swings his hammer at the rule book =)
My thought exactly at the end :-D

Proud backer! Can't wait for Season 3 and Pog Throne!!
And maybe revised art for 1st edition to make all seasons more visually compatible.
Kickstarted and love it, can't wait to see what they do with season 3!

One of my favorite games of all time!

I just bought mine last week and boy am I hyped to play this with my wife!
In case anyone is interested in the German version, they currently have a campaign for it at Spieleschmiede. You can get both SeaSon 1 & 2
This is the first time I've seen Tom sleeve his cards
This copy was sent by the company already sleeved.
He also sleeves his summoner wars collection
No, we sleeved it.
The sleeves are really awesome by the way. I got two sets.
@@thedicetower Where do you get those sleeves for the dice throne game?
I think 2v2 is as good if not better than 1v1!
Played @ PAX... Super fun game. Agree that everything about this game is just A++.
that was the laziest component drop of recent memory ....does Melany need to come back home?
I thought the same thing
I wonder if it wasn't to show off the 8 trays.
Yeah, it was lazy! That would have been hours and hours of sorting. :)
@@vonwoolf9963 u got a point
I would do the same if I were you, Tom! To be honest in most cases I would just drop the whole box from a safe height abd be done with it

I have the battle chest...I love it
Got two of the verse packs and love this game definitely getting the rest!
Where can I get the card sleeves ?
Does the tactician get a CP during his upkeep
No just during his income like everyone else. However they can use their tactical advantage tokens to get cp
"There won't be a component drop for this game." We have been fooled! :D but it's okay :D
Dice throne or Unmatched?
Love the game and the review even if he chickened out on the component dump. Not that I blame him.
Came by to get a rundown, stayed for the outfit
I’ve played this with 8 players
The mic rustling!
I hate the art. Otherwise, this game looks okay and will gladly try it!
"this is what fantasy art should look like" well I think you might have overstretched at this. The art is ok in my opinion, not a fan of the style

Yeah this to me looks like pretty art work but overly simplistic gameplay that would get old real fast.
