I got this cd single in a bin back in the early 90's and still rock it to this day. I actually went and bought up their entire catalog and found a lot more great tunes!
Between 2019 - 2021 Planned parenthood performed 1.11 million abortions while receiving nearly $2 billion in federal funding. That's a lot of lives lost just in the US. Heavy song in both senses of the word. Would love GC to put out some new music! Thanks for posting Alex.
The Supreme Court, with a widely agreed decision made after decades of debate, and with countless scientific and theological opinions heard, it was decided that personhood began when a fetus can survive outside of the womb, which is around 22-24 weeks of gestation. That was the law of the land, and simply because a person does not BELIEVE certain things, does not make them true or untrue. For example, only a century ago, many Caucasian people believed that black people were not fellow humans at all. How do you feel about that? If you also believe that black people are not fellow Homo sapiens, you have much bigger problems to deal with out there in the real world, than whether or not life begins at conception. What do you think about the wind, the rain, earthquakes, tornadoes, a person’s short term versus long term behavior, whether or not fat people have any control over their weight, or if certain people have control over their sex drive, or choices of mate? How about food tastes and other sensory predilections? Most of these posits have been concretely answered, yet even at that point, there are examples of the establishment being wrong, factually. UFOs absolutely do not equate to extra terrestrial anthropomorphic beings who give a flying shot about this rick circling around our heliocentric galaxy. But Bigfoot might actually exist, as there are similar animals, beings, in the fossil record. The coelacanth was only rediscovered in the deepest Indian Ocean in the 1930’s, when at the time, it was widely agreed to be a long extinct and especially primitive species of fish. Science can be wrong and right. So can you. But the reality is that making claims as you have, that abortion is murder, which has been disproven by the highest court in the land, is incongruous to existence in this society. Let’s just say that I BELIEVE that you are a satanic woman hating destroyer of woman’s rights to be treated equally as a human, as that fellow of the human male. If you believe that woman who have abortions are murderers, along with abortion staff, then maybe I believe that you hate the idea that women should have rights similar to men. And by that logic, maybe I believe that you should not be granted the right to EMS care in the instance of an emergency medical situation, or that you should be revoked of the right to defend yourself against an assailant, and that if you are killed, it’s just a side effect of life, kind of like how so many babies end up malnourished and developmentally challenged and begin to show signs of malformation of reasonable societal assimilation traits, such as uncontrollable outbursts of violence, all directly attributable to having been the child of a mother who knew upon realization of pregnancy that her child would most likely suffer an extraordinarily difficult life. Yes, things change and there are always surprises, but as with unwanted or unfit pregnancies, goes unwanted or unfit opinions about said pregnancies from casual observers with opinions based on erroneous and disproven assertions about what determines the very existence of life. Shall I continue? In other words, your opinion could just as easily PROVE you to be a woman hating murderer in slow motion, bent on the slow and grueling early death of children born to horribly unfortunate yet preventable circumstances, a person who hates other people simply because they made a viable decision about a yet to be human and themselves, for and by which you have zero viable or reasonable decision making ability. So who is the hateful murderer? The anti-abortion activist, or the abortion doctor? By YOUR definition, both of you. BOTH. By the law of the land, only YOU would be the murderer. If you think the mother should be forced to carry the child to term, not having any idea of the potential future of a person or small family about which you know nothing, then you could potentially be charged with involuntary manslaughter, by carelessly forcing another human involuntarily into a situation of likely death or horrific misfortune. Feeling good yet? Yeah, Jesus has his ways, doesn’t he?
Heh, i can't believe i still remember seeing this video on Headbanger's Ball. Don't think i've watched Mtv since then. I was fortunate to catch the Cowboys touring for Space In Your Face with Dream Theater @ Summerfest in Milwaukee. Talk about a spectacular pairing. I've seen D.T. a couple times since, but sadly never caught G.C. again. Truly some of the greatest metal ever made, and one of the finest bands of the '90s.
When this song came out in 1993, I was a huge GC fan and bought the disc the day it came out. I had seen & met them on their first tour and was eagerly awaiting new music form them. But, to prove that I possess a truly dull and thick brain, it took me until 2004 to realize what this song was about. Not quite sure what I thought it was about before (never thought about it, I guess). Just makes me like it that much more now.
Been looking for this one for a long time ! Love the cowboys always will ....one of the MOST underrated rock n roll bands in history .If record sales were based on talent everyone would know who they were! To many great songs for me to say which is my fav. ,still listen to them on an almost daily basis . majorly hoping for a reunion one day ! Big thanks for putting this up!!
I saw these guys so many times between gigs in Austin and Houston. The best shows were Kings X and GC together, especially at venues that no longer exist, (i.e. Liberty Lunch, Back Room.) I wish they would reform and write new material. In the meantime, check out Theocracy. Not to say that GC's content was not deep, and their music was not heavy, but Theocracy takes all that to a new level. If you appreciate GC and old KX, then you will enjoy Theocracy. Here is a fan video done by yours truly: th-cam.com/video/XSo-koloqrk/w-d-xo.html Enjoy ..
+fooser77 - HELL YES!!! Saw GC open for KX at both Liberty Lunch AND the Back Room, and at the old Juanita's in Little Rock! I'd stand stage left in front of Monty Colvin (GC), then move stage right for Doug Pinnick (KX) - good times - all about that BASS!!! FYI - Galactic Cowboys have been recording together recently...don't know if Sonnier or Farkas is playing guitar (or both). But they've gotten together in Houston and have been recording new material and re-recording older, unreleased material. I doubt the band is "getting back together" in the true sense of the phrase, but a new album would be great!

A poster called Powerranger6342 said the song "describes abortion doctors perfectly. As killers who lie to women and the government. As I said to said poster, I don't think that's their intention, I think the song is about the unfair generalization of doctors who have to carry out that procedure, of people like you who think everything is one-sided. If it was then what would they make of women who get pregnant as a result of being brutally raped? What would they make of ectopic pregnancies? What about countries where adoption laws are extremely difficult and its easier to get abortions instead? Don't get me wrong, I do not like abortion at all, in fact I hate it, but I know its not as simple as this poster makes out. What does everyone else here think?
This is just a hypothetical story
Of someone let's just say it's me
I'd gain acceptance for my murderous ways
By stalking a defenseless prey
(Refrain:) If I were a killer
I'd smile just like the boy next door
If I were a killer
I'd say I do it for the poor
If I were a killer
You'd bring me victims more and more
If I were a killer
Supreme Court would agree to hear my case
And find me innocent of crime
Holding public rallies to incite sympathy
Creative actuality
(Refrain)
If I were a killer
I'd smile just like the boy next door
If I were a killer
I'd say I do it for the poor
If I were a killer
You'd bring me victims more and more
If I were a killer
I'd hide behind a doctor's door
If I were a killer
I'd scrape you off my office floor
If I were a killer
Describes the abortion doctors and nurses perfectly

Underrated band that should have been huge!
Them and Kings X they used to play the same clubs a lot in Houston when I was growing up thought both those bands were going to be huge
@Sketch Turner and a bunch of great guys in person.
