Wow thanks for a very informative video sharing your detailed info no mike choice and placement from the guy who created the irs. Also great insight on amp settings. I have been demoing this sim for a few day and came to a similar conclusion regarding using the lower input for a more dynamic and versatile tone. Thanks
Hi Mikko, I thought I would repost a question I left to you on my own Fortin Nameless review: are the IRs you made for this available for purchase standalone? I would love to use these on the AX8, and the Fractal Modern Cab Pack 7 description sounds eerily similar to the comment you left on my video. Thanks!
@@mlsoundlab What about the new Granophyre? That set of IRs is killing me, but I dont care for the amp so much. How did you get that weird roomy resonance in there?
I seem to be having an issue I can’t fix for the life of me, every time a play a pinch harmonic it comes out barely audible and the gate silences them quickly. I’ve cranked the input, both gain knobs and it helps but it’s still not the squeals I know they should be. Divebombs sound pretty wimpy, what could I be doing wrong?

I’d be very much interested in using it for my Axefx if not you should make them for sale i know many would be willing to pay for that
Hey Mikko, may we have information about cab and speaker used on this plugin? they sounds crazy tight and sits in the mix really well. I often use other amp sims but still using the cab IR from Nameless.
Kumpi on parempi voimasointujen ja isojen riffien soitteluun drop A vireestä? Nameless vai Plini Archetype? Puhtaalle soundille olisi myös tarvetta, mutta pääasiassa kuitenkin metalli ja junttariffit. Thanks!
Hello, this is really helpful thanks! Just wanted to ask if it's possible to get these results with oversampling on normal? When I set it on high in FL 20 my CPU goes crazy
Please tell us which model cab and speaker inspired your impulses bro? That speaker sounds so good for modded marshall tones so I really need that info.
Original 70w V30 spec from the early 90s in the best cab in the world. Not the chinese nor the 60w english ones. These originals are hard to find sadly.
There might be an issue with voice mike kept on when playing - I can clearly hear strings sound captured by mike, which means mike can capture monitors output to saturate/impact amp sim sound, as a result it might sound different compared to amp sim sound only.
@@mlsoundlab What does that mean? Are we listening to any compressed or uncompressed guitar signal from the voice microphone that is being mixed with the sound that the plugin delivers on its own in L&R of any sound capture? Please, you would simply answer if or not to be able to leave doubts as clearly as possible, and then you expose the technical data if you feel like it and you see it convenient. Thank you !!
I got the plugin (ver is 1.1.2), but I have an Issue with master volume control being very quiet when I pull it, and gain isn't behaving properly. Both sound like low gain. Can't dial the output above -10db (very loud in comparison with all channels), input above -2db and the gate just cuts most of the sound whilst playing when i go above - 50db. I reinstalled but no change. Main problem is the MVC pull! Any advice how to fix it, and what am I doing wrong?
This sounds like the gate setting is too tight for you. I don't use it personally so like in this video it's completely off. I recommend doing that at least in the beginning. Usually if you need a gate, I tend to think that I'd rather lower the gain a little bit to get rid of the noise than use a gate.
Yes that sounds reasonable, but that's the least of my issue. When turned off, it's still quite noisy, I changed guitars, cables, DAW's and still the same issue. And biggest letdown is, MVC pull (extra gain) is too quiet... Next I'll check my soundboard I guess because both inputs (scarlett 2i2) are the same... :'(
Hey, first of all your content is absolutely great! Here is the thing: The Fortin Amplification releases an update on 13th march, in which they plan to add Hexdrive etc to the plugin. Would it be possible for you to suggest them to allow us to turn the treble and presence even further down? In this video you already have your treble and presence turned all the way down, and in case someone has a bit brighter sounding guitar/pickups it may be a bit of a problem. Keep up the great job Mikko!
Hey Mikko! I've been subbed since the early EQ match days. Love how far you have progressed! I've had the Nameless suite for a while and this preset is just perfect. I dunno why sometimes I'm afraid to remove all the high end. I also have the Fortin NTS, do you have a go to setting for that too?

This plugin's only problem is drive pedal that cuts bass to much. Hard to use. Btw why no demo for pulled gain clip? I thought everyone sounded more modern with it.
That's the purpose of the pedal. It makes the amp tighter and I feel it's good for that over the top djenty sound. If you want clean boost, raise the input volume like I did here. I got a fuller sound without pulling the switch. If you use all the extra gain and scoop everything you end up with no beef. :)
ML Sound Lab I mean fortin's boost is mesaish ds-1 style bass killer. I want squishy chuggy palms from drive and still to have huge low end. That much of a cut is nice for bassy mesa amp but not for a modded marshall. I will give you video link for lp guy testing it in drop d so you can see that grind cuts low end way too much. Low cut parameter for grind would make people in higher tunings much happier and I think it's pretty easy to add it to make everyone happy! Fractal does this but I don't have their stuff... Your tip about ideal transparent boost using input parameter is absolutely mind blowing! It's like perfect gain stage mod for marshall. Never thought about using it in such way. Thank you very much for that great eye opening advice!
Mercurial makes a great free tubescreamer emulation. They developed it as part of their paid products but released it as a free standalone. Sure you can. I'm not entirely sure what the control does. It still soumds great on the low setting.
When you’re talking about “super high gain”, and are peaking the input signal @9:48, is that the same as digital clipping?
So what if the input signal is peaking on the plug-in...as long as is not clipping in your DAW, you're fine.
It sounds so trebley as Slash's #34 mod from Frank Levi. Very cool. But as i can see, this amp is based on SLP1959, isn't it?
It's quite a heavy mod by Fortin. The plexi sound is more of an added feature but it's still a bit tighter than a plexi if you ask me. :)
