I've done a lot of travel, and I've watched a lot of videos, but I have to say that you did a fabulous job on this one. It was especially nice that you detailed even the small items like getting your tickets, and choosing where to stay. Excellent!!
Wow, thank you! I'm glad you appreciate the effort I make on these videos and to help people discover these places for themselves. Too many TH-camrs make a video about some place, only for them to point the camera at themselves (and not the attraction) most of the time. Thanks again.
@@UltimateBucketList Thank you for your reply. Just as a side note, I was traveling in Europe (I think Amsterdam) and was at a street car stop and each car stopped, the driver looked at me, but then DID NOT open the door and left! Later a person told us that WE had to hit the button on the car and that opens the door! The driver does not open it,and they just assumed that we were not going to board!! That's why I'm talking about the "little things" ... Rick Steves (it was decades ago) didn't mention that stuff!! Thanks again!
@@rogerdodger8415 Yeah, I encounter that sometimes. There's a handful of cities here in Europe where you physically have to press the button to open the doors, as they don't open automatically. Enjoy Rome!
What an awesome video. My husband and I are getting ready to visit Rome next month. The map is epic and has all the places we need to visit. I love that it’s color coded too! Thank you!!!
@@normarazo9089 thank you so much! Yes, the colour-coded map makes life so much easier to understand what there is to see in Rome. That said, you'll probably walk through all these areas on the same day just exploring. I hope you and your husband have a wonderful time in the eternal city! Be sure to share this video on your socials to help me out :)
Thanks I appreciate that! 😀 Whilst I give a complete guide to the cities I visit, most people pick the bits that they're interested in and just do those. But if you want to do everything - at least you'll know where they are and what to expect 😉
I like the way you complained at 10:59 about tourists taking photos of their gelato in front of the Trevi Fountain and then did exactly the same yourself at 29:01😂😂. Thanks for the great info Ninh
ULB WHAT A LABOUR OF LOVE. GOD BLESS. JUST SENT TO MY SON S FAMILY WHO IS IN ROME. U HAVE DEFINITELY PUT IT ON MY BUCKET. U R. GIFTED WITH FRAME SENSORS SO EACH FRAME IS A GEM. ❤️
Thanks! That's pretty much the concept of my channel - to inspire people to travel and visit the world before they die ... and make it easy for them to do so. 👍 If you get to go - enjoy Rome! 😀
I have been to Rome in the past, but l didn't have such a comprehensive visit. I am to I'll to travel now but l appreciate your very well made videos and your presentation style. All the best to you and your future travels.
Yet another epic video, I’m thoroughly impressed by this gem! While we’re on the subject, world you do a travel guide of Pompeii and/or Herculeaneum? Those cities were such important hubs during their heyday in the Roman Empire before they were destroyed in 79 AD. That would be pretty damn epic.
Ah yes Rome, great city! Have been twice but would go back tomorrow! Amazing place, up there with London for the vast array of attractions! Great video!
Another beautifully presented video. I've only been to Rome once in the early 2000s and it is a beautiful city with loads of history to see and great food as Italian food is one of my favourites. I saw most of the places shown in the video, and I'm glad you highlighted those damn pickpockets. I'm also not a religious person, but even so, a visit to the Vatican is very impressive and should be done.
Thank you Akash! 🙂 I'd say leave yourself 5 days to see absolutely everything in Rome, whilst giving you time to relax without having to rush around the city. If you stick to the areas on the map - it'll save you a lot of time and hassle traversing around the city. You could see everything in less time of course, but it's a mega rush! Hope that helps?
Very informative video. Thanks for explaining where to go, how to get there and how much things cost. This has been the info we needed to help us when we go to Europe next May or June. Question: Do you recommend any particular hotel? Especially for a premium hotel.
Thanks very much, I'm happy this video helps you plan your trip to Rome. As for specific hotels, I don't have specific recommendations. But if you're after a premium hotel, the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi is just outside Repubblica station, I walked past this one a lot and it seems to be popular with upmarket folk and celebrities etc. It has a rooftop pool and everything. But honestly, a quick Google search will probably yield you a better result. Hope that helps?
This is above perfection! Very interesting, detailed and i'm sure i will not get lost when i get to Rome, thanks to you man! By the way, if i'm coming to Ciampino airport, which location is the best to get a room?
Ah, thank you very much! If you're coming from Ciampino - I recommend staying somewhere near Termini station (as mentioned in the video) as you don't want to be carrying your luggage on Rome's ancient cobbled streets for too long! I stayed near Republicca station, which is also a short walk away from Termini.
Hi Ninh, perfect video in perfect timing before my visit to Italy, unfortunately, I am not able to find your video for the Colosseum that you mentioned in the video at the minute 4:42, any advise?
Hi Mohammed, thanks very much, glad you enjoy my Rome City Guide. The Colosseum video ran into copyright issues, but it's being uploaded tonight. Thanks.
Hey bro nice video, are you gonna do a Belgium travel guide? Am going there im April. Nice guide, Italy is my favourite country in europe and possibly the world.
Thanks for sharing a great video which explains a lot. Going there in Oct. Just needed to ask if we buy a travel pass at the Termini station we can use any mode of transport like bus or tram free flow?
Hi Jessie, thank you very much! Yes, once you buy your inclusive travel pass at Termini station - feel free to jump on the metro, buses, trams as you wish. Enjoy Rome and be sure to check out my other Rome based videos :)
Amazing work! We’re going next week and your video helped a lot. Question though, what video setup do you use to make your videos? Their so well made. Thanks for the response and keep them coming

Believe it or not, I'm actually back already. And I've been to France and back since I shot this video. I've done Milan and Venice videos so far, and I think there's a few more that I might do later on in the year (Florence/Pisa and Turin).
Thanks! I haven't done Berlin yet, was planning to do that either closer to summer, or around Autumn time to co-incide with the new ice hockey season 😀
@UltimateBucketList I plan to visit Rome in October with my wife and daughter and would like any suggestions of places to stay which is not costly. Thanks
That's a tough one, as hotels are generally not cheap anywhere in Europe these days. My advice is to stay at a reasonably priced hotel near Termini station, but the prices vary wildly. There isn't a specific hotel I could recommend as the prices change daily.
Thank you very much for your detailed display and explanation of Rome especially with a color coordinated map for I am a map person. That brings me to a question. How did you manage the data service for your smartphone? I will be traveling there later in the year, and I will be heavily depended on the Google map on my phone navigating through the city. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Hi Paul, thank you very much for your kind comments. Because I live in Europe, my phone internet works anywhere on the mainland. But if I have no internet signal, I just download an offline map (either Google or my preferred app "HereWeGo") and it works without needing an Internet connection. I usually download it and make sure it works before I go. Hope that helps?
If you only have a short amount of time (i.e. a few hours) the bus will show you all the main sites. However, they are expensive - so that is why I use the Metro & Bus system and show myself around instead.
To be honest, I didn't really see why the Spanish Steps were so famous and why crowds of people flock to come and sit on them? Hopefully this video was a nice walk down memory lane for you. Thanks Jason :)
Hi - thanks for your kind comments. 😀 The other videos haven't been uploaded yet, but you'll see it very soon in the next week or so. Be sure to subscribe so you know when it comes out! 👍
For all the museums or sites do I need to go to a website to pay the entrance fee? Do I need to reserve or pay in advance, or can I pay at the entrance?
Hi Jeanette. It's definitely advisable to book tickets in advance (they send them to your e-mail), as queuing for tickets is painful and there's no guarantee they'll let you in at that time. In the quieter months, you can get away with just walking in, but I'd never leave it that late. Hope that helps?
Fantastic video, concise and to the point. Can you please let me know if there are discounts for children travelling with parents in Italy via local transport (like buses and trams), if we buy the daily pass or tickets for individual trips within the city. Also, would you know if the train journey from Roma Termini to the Fumicino airport (leonardo), is covered under the Eurail pass.
Thank you very much, I appreciate your kind comments. I think the EURail pass covers you from Fiumicino to Roma Termini, but does not cover local transport. I'm not sure if there's a discount for a family ticket, but I do know that under 10 years old travel for free anyway. Go to the website to check: www.atac.roma.it/en/tickets-and-passes Thanks 👍
I never used any app to purchase tickets. I either went to the official website or to the respective ticket offices. There are several apps / inclusive tickets that cover most of Rome's attractions that you can buy. The main three are the Rome Tourist Card, the Roma Pass and the GoCity Pass. You'll have to look at what they offer and see if that works for you.
Can I ask you please 🙏 what do you mean by appropriate clothing? Can I wear a skirt and top? Because I don’t wear jeans or trousers and i don’t wear long sleeve tops
Hi Gina. So long as your shoulders and knees are covered, you're fine. Same applies to men. If you're not sure, Google 'Vatican Dress Code' and their official website highlights what you can and cannot wear. Hope that helps?
Thank you 🙏 so much for your answers i will google that now….and what is the nearest airport to Monti? I’m thinking of staying in Monti for 3 nights can I get a taxi from Monti to the colosseum? Or would it be best to book a hotel near the colosseum? I really do appreciate your help thank you 🙏
@@ginagina9720 You mean the Monti that's a district of Rome? Or is there another town called Monti?. If it's the district of Rome you're talking about, it's literally right next to the Colosseum. Either airport will take you to Termini station, of which is a 5 minute walk from Monti and a further 5 minute walk from the Colosseum. No taxi's required! Hope that helps?
Yes, I'm aware. This video was made before they ever considered charging for the Pantheon. Personally, I think it's wrong that they charge you to enter what is effectively a church - given that the other churches in Rome are free.
I learnt a lot from this video. Thanks to your video and this amazing book 'Rome Travel Guide 2023' by Irene Jones in Kobo, I am now preparing to travel. I got my visa ready and I will travel to Rome this September. Thanks for your tips in this video

Ninh, what a nice video! Btw, which one do you prefer, Milan or Rome? Do you have any other plan to visit other cities in Italy? I would like to visit Italy in near future. P.S.: You should plan to visit Indonesia next time! Our country is also beautiful on every inch!
I preferred Rome for the amount of things to do, but Milan was pretty cool in its own way. So far I've made videos on Rome, Milan and Venice - I'm sure I'll do Florence, Pisa and Turin at some point. And yes, I would love to visit Indonesia.
Hello In your vatican city video you have informed about where to book the tickets from. Can you also let us know the same here? So we can save some bucks
Hi. Apart from the Vatican and the Colosseum (check out that video on my channel), the rest of the attractions you don't need to book. Just turn up as they're very quiet compared to the Vatican and the Colosseum. Hope that helps?
Video molto bello! Complimenti. ) Galleria Nazionale di arte moderna (Canova, Appiani, Romney, Raeburn, Hayez, Courbet, Monet, Cézanne, Degas, Van Gogh, Rodin, Bourdelle, Sorolla, Medardo Rosso, Fattori, Lega, Segantini, Klimt, Schiele, Boldini, Modigliani, Boccioni, Balla, Carrà, Morandi, De Chirico, Braque, Kandinskij, Klee, Mirò, Tamayo, Dix, Grosz, ecc.ecc. ) Poi non bisogna dimenticare che Roma è anche un laboratorio dell'architettura moderna con opere di Pier Luigi Nervi, Hadid, Meyer, Fuksas, Piano, ecc.ecc.
Apart from the Basilica, there's Terme Di Caracalla, which are some ancient Roman Baths and there's a few nice restaurants and bars around there. A short walk away, there's even a pyramid! I think there's lots to do around ther.e
@@antmanatthemoment7233 was planning to go to Athens, but ended up going to Tunisia instead (future video). I'm sure I'll go at some point in the year.

Thank you! I was going to ask about Colosseum and Vatican City Videos because I can’t find them. I will be watching!
We just got back from Portugal and I wish I found you before we went.
@@angelaarnold9835 yes, I'm, furiously editing them both now, so stay tuned for that. And I'm due to go back to Portugal this year, possibly Madeira or Faro. Or both!

Great, perfect and amazing introduction and guide to Rome city 👌
Thank you! 😃
Me and my partner just came back from Rome just yesterday. It was not our first time there and we love it even more the second time around. The city has so much to offer and so much to see! We miss it so much we hope we go back later on this year 😍
Thanks Erwin. Yes, it's an interesting city and it's a place you'll never get bored of.
Hope you manage to go back!
I’ve spent, over 4 trips, about 40 days in Rome.
I have yet to leave without missing it as I do.
@Jody Owen I believe you! Such a great city 😀
Super useful❤❤
Thanks!
Thank you for all information, it will be very useful😊
Great, I'm happy that this video helps you plan a trip to Rome.
Enjoy!
Wish you did this video 5 years ago when I went. I didn’t realise there such more to see. Quality video again.
Thanks Christopher. Yeah, it's been a while coming.
Just gives you another reason to go back, eh?
I really enjoy watching your videos... You're complete. guide. I just copy-paste the entire itinerary.
Thanks I appreciate that! 😀
Whilst I give a complete guide to the cities I visit, most people pick the bits that they're interested in and just do those.
But if you want to do everything - at least you'll know where they are and what to expect 😉

Yeah me too - it was definitely one of the more interesting cities I've visited so far.
Thanks again.
I agree - even if you're not a Catholic, Vatican City is definitely worth exploring.

No problem - I hope you found it helpful in planning your trip to Rome!
Truly one of the great cities of the world. 🌍🌍🌍
Indeed!
Hey Ninh great video! How many days do you recommend staying in Rome to cover all the attractions?
@@UltimateBucketList Awesome!! Thanks man! Smooth and crystal clear.

Hey bro nice video, are you gonna do a Belgium travel guide? Am going there im April.
Nice guide, Italy is my favourite country in europe and possibly the world.
Hi David. I'm sure I'll get to Belgium sometime later in the year.
Italy is definitely up there with the nicest countries I've ever visited :)

Hello, Ninh what's the best prefer public transportation metro or sightseeing hop on hop off for self explore in Rome? Thanks.
If you only have a short amount of time (i.e. a few hours) the bus will show you all the main sites. However, they are expensive - so that is why I use the Metro & Bus system and show myself around instead.
Thank you
You're welcome my friend!

Another fantastic video Ninh, it brought back memories of my last trip to in Rome in 2004, I agree the Spanish Steps are over rated.
To be honest, I didn't really see why the Spanish Steps were so famous and why crowds of people flock to come and sit on them?
Hopefully this video was a nice walk down memory lane for you.

Go to the website to check: www.atac.roma.it/en/tickets-and-passes
Thanks 👍
Roma Roma sempre Roma Roma 😊
Si!
What app would you recommend to purchase tickets in advance for the attractions ?

Hi! We are booking tickets now to Italy, and would like you to know that since July 2023, you now need 5 euro tickets to get into the Pantheon :)
Yes, I'm aware. This video was made before they ever considered charging for the Pantheon. Personally, I think it's wrong that they charge you to enter what is effectively a church - given that the other churches in Rome are free.
I learnt a lot from this video.

Video molto bello! Complimenti.
Galleria Nazionale di arte antica di Palazzo Corsini (Giovanni da Milano, Beato Angelico, Caravaggio, Reni, Guercino, Murillo, Van Dyck, Poussin, Rubens, Ribera, Piazzetta, ecc.ecc. )
Galleria Borghese (Bernini, Ribera, Rubens, Tiziano, Lotto, Raffaello, Caravaggio, Reni, Guercino, Antonello da Messina, Giovanni Bellini, Canova, Andrea del Sarto, Veronese ecc.ecc. )
Galleria Nazionale di arte moderna (Canova, Appiani, Romney, Raeburn, Hayez, Courbet, Monet, Cézanne, Degas, Van Gogh, Rodin, Bourdelle, Sorolla, Medardo Rosso, Fattori, Lega, Segantini, Klimt, Schiele, Boldini, Modigliani, Boccioni, Balla, Carrà, Morandi, De Chirico, Braque, Kandinskij, Klee, Mirò, Tamayo, Dix, Grosz, ecc.ecc. )
Poi non bisogna dimenticare che Roma è anche un laboratorio dell'architettura moderna con opere di Pier Luigi Nervi, Hadid, Meyer, Fuksas, Piano, ecc.ecc.
06:58 is that really the body of a dead pope?
It sure is! They seem to like doing that in their churches.
