It's interesting they keep going with this large billboarding like the feldspar. I really like the tiny lettering on the echo and pyrite. Super minimal and properly placed
I picked this up when it launched. I agree with the final assessment. The biggest quirk I noticed is you can whip the blade out pretty easily by just flicking the knife with your wrist, without using the thumb studs.
Love the blade geometry, the harpoon ramp, and the pvd option is compelling. But handle isn’t doing much to hold my interest. I’ve been hoping to find a non-tactical aligned design language, especially with that blade, but this isn’t quite it. Push it up over 3.5”, and a button lock on contoured scales, and I’ll re-consider. Thanks for sharing!
Just received one of these today, got it like new off of Blade Binge for $28. Great deal, but I’m with you about the detent ball and liner lock. It is a little annoying, kind of difficult to close one handed.
Does the blade poke out the back when it's closed? My Pyrite Lite does, and it bit me twice before I learned to hold it more carefully when closing it.
I love the teal scales and the polish on the blade. Not sure how I feel about the kind of tanto blade shape. It's like a passive aggressive tanto. Kind of like the 229. The tanto isn't really that much different from the drop point, but obviously that's a much nicer blade. That unlock might drive me nuts. For 50 bucks maybe dremeling a crude detent ramp would help.
Every time a new liner lock comes out with a near minimum area to close the knife I'm like FAIL knife. Don't get why they still do this. My finger tips have permanent indents in them the first day.
That is absolutely NOT silly to complain about, buddy! That would drive me nutz. I love to fidget with my knives! Half the reason I buy so many. I was gonna order one of these, but now?????? Any way to help this problem out? CJRB just doesn't impress me much. Sticky button locks, ect...
Their plunge lock implementation is actually what impresses me about them. I own like a dozen of their button locks and none of them fail a spine whack or have bad stick... at least not after lubrication and a short break in. IMO, they are one of the companies that got this lock right early on and it wasn't the easiest thing for a budget knife company to do when so many more premium companies struggled with their plunge lock implementation.
Keep shouting about billboarding, MC. Maybe knife companies will get the hint. Lots of companies mess up a beautiful esthetic with that junk. [Cough cough]Microtech[Cough cough]

Literally the first Hollow grind that artisan and cjrb have ever done. Glad that they are finally starting to do them. Long past due!
The blue looks amazing. If I could change anything it would be the liner lock.
Bladeville sends their regards.
Bladeville sucks!
Hanks better!
@@bushguy9710 I'm sorry you feel that way. Hopefully you can recover.
Great knife designed by Christain Porterfield!
I like the looks. Love the blade shape. I don’t know whether or not I like or hate the blue. But it also comes in black so.

That blade shape really reminds me of the Chaves Redencion tanto
oh my gosh that blue tho! just look at it. very nice
Looks like a really nice one. I also love the TI Kubey Nova which is only $66 right now on WMK. Cheers!
That's insane, Kubey nova ti is a badass blade.
Mine had terrible action. Had to an send it back. Tight detent and crunchy bearings. Too bad because it looks quite nice.
Thanks for the review, I like the color but need a better lock

I really feel like the finish and color of the scales make it look more premium.

My Spyderco Shamen has the same closing action. It just seems like there isn't enough relief for the detent ball.
I like a weak spot for harpoon tanto blades but maybe not on a Bugout sized liner lock knife with blue scales. :)

Been there done that
For Bladeville!

Would probably be safer to remove g10 from behind the lock bar to move the detent ball farther out of the way. Wouldn’t take much.
Your my boy blue!
You mean to tell me this isn’t their newest iteration on the Pyrite? 😂😂
II''l bet that if we replaced your Ritter Hogue with an actual Griptillian, we'd create a temporary rip in the fabric of time and space.
Budget knife of the year for sure. This design let's you put this knife to work.

It's like they wanted to hit all these buzzwords. Harpoon, tanto, compound grind. 😂

Why do all men want to do size comparisons?!?
Because not every size fits every pocket :P
@@Yuzuki1337 Not that women know what "pockets" are 😢
