I went through the video fully and I am so happy that Deepu has explained at length various methods for adopting and improving voice modulation. I find that the later discussed exercises are really difficult and unless you are careful about the accuracy with which you do the exercises there are chances that you may ultimately end up with wrong results. Even your singing may suffer. Especially when we you try to pick notes from various octaves and sing, unless you land at the correct frequencies the exercises may not give the desired results. If you have a harmonium or a keyboard you can sing along with the keyboard or harmonium or you can get the help from a knowledgeable guru at the time of such practices. Sustaining a note in its exact position for a comparatively longer period of time is very difficult because for achieving that, the frequency of the voice output should be kept a constant throughout . You have to take deliberate effort for practising that.
Deepu is an example to follow for any budding musician. Let me congratulate Deepu four finding out such methods using which an average singer can become a far better singer . Voice culture may not an easy thing. But practising it quite religiously once can become a better singer with wider appeal.
Unfortunately, many classical music concert singers never give any importance to voice culture. That is one of the reasons why classical music finds it difficult to reach to common man listeners. An improved voice can enable the singer to carry to the audience more feel and appeal intended in the lyrics.
